Its been a while since Ive visited a movie theatre after months of being in covid. It is refreshing however to be able to watch a movie on the big screen again. Generally, this movie theatre seems well kept up and clean. I enjoyed my visit and the staff were very kind and helpful. My only critique of the theatre itself would be the smell. Assuming because of its age, there seems to be a distinctive musky smell that lingers throughout the theatre. I would closely distinguish the smell as being in a restroom. Nevertheless I enjoy the experience and will most likely attend again.

Family all had a blast in the arcade! Easily spent almost an hour an a half just buying time in the arcade. Definitely recommend having family fun time watch a movie and eat then play some games in the arcade on your way out !

The staff was very warm and welcoming. The popcorn was really good. Low prices. Nice little treat in our backyard.

Vince was super great and helpful. He was chatty but not over chatty and even though we got to the theater far too early he made sure everything was clean and ready for us to sit down and wait for the movie to start. Drove from VB to Hampton and service like that is why.

If you are not capable of proper service let me wait in line and get my own food. Who brings kids a plate of chips and cheese and no drinks and it takes another 10 minutes to get drinks. She waitied until she had the whole theatres drinks before she stated passing them out. My husbands beer was warm by the time he got it. The kids had finished there chips and cheese before they ever received their drinks. Our pizza was delivered to the wrong people then brought over to our table like no big deal. The popcorn half was burned and tasted old.Most games in the Arcade where a dollar a play. The prizes where sad. We enjoyed the movie but everything else needs improvement. Also I do not tip for bad service.

The movie theatre gives off an older vibe which brings character. They have an arcade and you can also buy food from a menu with decent variety while watching your movie.My favorite movie spot

Me my daughter and grandsons had a wonderful time. We dont go very often because we spend way to much money on food because its amazing. All of it was delicious.

Best place to order a cheese steak hoagie sub and play arcade games while waiting for movie to start. I order a strawberry daiquiri with some alcohol and couple of beers and I laugh and cry to what evers playing dnt come unless u order chess fries with bacon wash it down with an arnold palmer half and half tea. and youll enjoy even more.

I love going to cinema cafe for the most part. Only thing that needs to change is to train the waiters to not come asking questions during the movie. It’s highly annoying!!! That’s why we have the call button for. This has happened for the past two movies we went to see. Birds of prey and sonic. I love cinema cafe but I will go to a different theater that does not have people walking around talking to me while I’m watching a movie.

Get a movie, popcorn and an entire meal here for about the same as just popcorn, a drink and the movie at other theaters... and the servers are very friendly and fast... the prices are great for the portion sizes, youll not be leaving hungry and the food is really good!! The only way to do a movie night out in my opinion!!

Fun place to see a movie. Cool drive in themed interior with gameroom when you walk in. More affordable deals than the bigger chain theaters. I prefer to see movies in places like this. It feels more authentic.

I miss the old drive-in movie theaters and this place still gives you a little slice of that. The old drive in speakers and retro car lounge seats when you walk in make you feel like you are going back in time. Tons of posters and movie memorabilia hanging around and a decent arcade too. Please dont modernize the look of the place. I really love the place the way it is.

Great place for dinner, drinks and a movie! Prices are lower or about the same as any other movie theater.The food is always tasty, fresh and hot. The drinks are good, too for the price! The Hampton location is a bit outdated and could be updated although it is always clean when I visit.

It was clean, the food was great and the service was awesome. Even the bathrooms were very clean. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone looking to enjoy a good film and food.

Great for the money. Ordered chicken nachos which came cold, almost no chicken and with lots of big onion chunks. We sent it back. The food is high. It needs to be good.

When I went to Cinema Cafe a couple of months ago. It was pretty good my only bad thing was no recliners and you need to have coke products.

It is an older theater, but, I like the smaller groups in the viewing areas. They also have good comfort food delivered to your seat. The prices beat the major places hands down. Friendlier people all around as well.

I neat little move theatre that serves food as you enjoy the latest feature! Wait-staff are nice and courteous, food is pretty reasonable and every sit is a great view!!!

I consider myself a die hard movie lover and I have been to countless Theatres in the surrounding area as well as outside of town. Cinema cafe is one of the best Movie Theatres not only in Hampton, but in all of VA. I find it hard to fathom how any casual movie enthusiast (Or even restaurant goer) could think of a legit complaint, when the value and quality is superior to the majority of movie theatre experiences and restaurants. The only noticeable area the theatre is lacking are the seats, which isnt an issue for most people. Compare that to way more expensive places, that may have reclining chairs, but have low quality Movie Theater food (You know what I mean, overpriced, SMALL PORTIONED, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, drinks etc). Sometimes while your watching a movie and its building suspense or the story has you drawn in, a server will talk a little too loud and kill the moment. That is to no fault of theres because they are only doing there job, but it is a very small annoyance that cant be avoided. Especially when other movie watchers talk during the movies also. I have been going to Cinema Cafe by myself or with friends and family, for about 6 years now. The ticket prices are always reasonable and the food is affordable, excellent, and worth the money. They even have alcoholic beverages. Obviously if youve been to a food establishment as much Ive been to Cinema Cafe, you will have a few situations where menu items dont come to you up to standard. Most people feel inclined to write reviews about a place based on one bad experience, or after ones first time visiting an establishment. This is a horrible way to judge or review a place. If you know restaurants (which essentially what Cinema Cafe is, the other half being a movie theater) then youd know that there is a large quantity of items being prepared and pushed out at once. So the probability of something coming slightly wrong or not exactly the hottest is a possibilty. ESPECIALLY when really busy. If this happens to you, then the way the establishment handles this mistake should determine your emotional conclusion on said establishment. My reality is Ive had a vast amount of excellent experiences and memories at this theatre than bad ones. If you go to a place expecting a bad experience, then most likely you will have a bad experience.

We had a good time. The seats were comfortable and the food was decent. There is also a game room here for the kids to enjoy. Some games give tickets for them to trade in for prizes.

Staff was cleaning. Staff used protective gear such as masks and gloves.

This Cinema is the Hampton roads best kept secret. Always clean, friendly staff. Alcohol and food while you eat and watch your movie. While you wait with old school games for the family. I always go early with my family to have to fun. when everyone else is sold out, they always have tickets and seats. This is my first choice for going out to watch movies. I enjoy this place because it has the family experience feel . Been coming here for years and will continue to come to this movie theatre.

I did not post anything yet. I was not the person that did answer your questions. My grandson and I did not have a problem watching the movie. But you do need new seats. Our food was nice and hot and tasty.

The place was great but the arcade machines were a bit run down and some had missing buttons. But overall it’s pretty good!

Good prices on admission and decent food prices. Great place to take your family. They also have an arcade, which you dont see anymore in movie theaters. Friendly and good wait staff. The only minus is the sound isnt loud enough coming from movie screen.

Oil tasted old on onions. Asked for no bun and was served with one. They took it back and took the bun off then served it. Glad I dont have to worry about gluten.

The loaded nacho is loaded and the pizza is delicious. Its a relaxed atmosphere very family friendly and clean bathrooms. Sit down hit the buzzer on the table and friendly servers come to take and deliver your order.

This theater has $1 movies. So we like bringing the kids here. They have a really good pizza. The down side is there are not free refills on the drinks. You have to pay extra. Also some of the games dont work

I took my 6 yo to go and see Aladdin here and we had a blast! The service was amazing and the food was great! We definitely had a great time and will be going back soon!!

People in our area dont have a very good impression of this place. But outside of the fact that it was FREEZING (So bring yourself a jacket, and suggest that any companions bring one too), the people were really friendly, service was timely, and our server was helpful with answering some questions as well as helping us with a gift card use and split checks, with no problems. Very Good Experience.One suggestion to Cinema Cafe : Please change your cleaning process. Something doesnt smell great......and a movie theatres smell......is supposed to incite nostalgia from childhood experiences. The scent of POPCORN...... SHOULD ALWAYS BE THE MOST PROMINENT ONE THAT YOU EXPERIENCE IN A THEATRE. Please rectify, and I will definitely make the next review 5 stars. Thanks!

Great place to see a movie. They litteraly wait on you hand and foot, and whatever you order they will bring it to you, and the food is great. If you enjoy the sound of a great surround sound speaker system, you will truly love this place! I actually could feel the sound in my chest at some points in the adventures end game movie. I actually felt like I was part of the movie! Check it out you will love it. Good for kids as well, they have good clean movies most of the time from what Ive seen so give it a shot!

The price of tickets and food are easy on the wallet. I do have to admit that the place is a bit dingy. Im sure a remodel would change the prices though so Ill take it for now.

Pretty good experience, especially if youre catching an early show during the week. Saw the latest spiderman movie for $5.50. I have eaten there in the past and the food was pretty good but I must say the Chicken tender meal was really good today! The only real downfall is that since it is an older theater it has that old 90s office smell to it. Staff was friendly and attentive.

The movie was great. The staff from the ticket lady to the wait staff, were so friendly. My kids had a great time.

Waited 20 minutes for waitress after you push the red button!!! Then another 30 minutes for a large popcorn and pitcher of soda had my my grandbabies. There were only 6 people in the theater... Needless to say she did not get a nice tip like i usually tip. She was very rude!!!! I spent 21 for movie and 14 something for popcorn and pitcher of soda!! Not to mention 30 in the game room!!!

Weve come here a couple times now, and will probably make it a tradition every time I visit my brother in Virginia. Theres just something fun about watching a movie while eating your dinner.

Nice relaxing place

Loved the decor, the most original of all the Cinema Cafes Ive ever visited. There was an odor though, once past the ticket takers that was a big distraction. It was a spoiled wet carpet smell near the kitchen. Our server and the quality of food made up for it tho. Best white pizza and potato skins ever.

Was there for the premiere of Bad Boys 3. Movie was great. Theater wasnt too cold.. a common complaint in theaters. The only issue we had was the people around us on either side TALKED THE ENTIRE MOVIE! So rude!

My male server was great, he was nice, offered great suggestions, no complaints with him. However the girl who delivered our food was SUPER RUDE, as she walked away, she was mumbling something that I couldnt understand, then she was talking about me to her co-worker/supervisor in the walk-in alley into the cinema so loud all the guests (less than 10 patrons) in that cinema could hear. I order an appetizer along with my meal, she brought it all at once and argued that ALL FOOD COMES OUT AT ONCE. All I can say is GOOD THING I WAS A SECRET SHOPPER TODAY

Love this place. Retro Gaming area and the seats in the theater where you watching the show have tables and they bring you food and beer. Service is great prices are amazingly low this is where you should go at least once a week on your date night

If you like the old school way of buying a ticket then standing in line till someone drops a rope, indicating its time to run to your theater to claim your seat then youll enjoy Cinema Cafe. Their ode to modernism is theyll serve you food at your seat. For me, the seats are too low and the table they provide it too far away. Staff was friendly and food was good (priced as youd expect). I much prefer the movie houses that allow you to choose your seat when you buy the ticket. But... thats just my opinion - I could be wrong!

Food was great. Show was great. Theater was clean. However the arcade leaves a little to be desired. Several machines out of order. And this being the only place on the peninsula that has a DDR machine its a little disappointing that that was one of the broken machines.

First visit. Old school feel, but not a bad thing. Older than similar types of theaters, but again, not a deterrent. Seating is good because you have an actual table. Food choices good. Tasty. Lower priced than similar types, and more food. Professional and friendly servers. Nice experience. Will be going back!

I went to see the second Jumanji two weeks ago and everything was perfect from the food to the movie. I had a much better experience than when I went to see Countdown a few months ago. I also visited cinema cafe last night and I must say that Bad Boys For Life was a fantastic movie and I highly recommend seeing it for those who have not already. However, the server didnt seem too happy to be there and she did express her discomfort with the late shift loud enough for everyone to hear her. On a side note if anyone visits cinema cafe be careful because someone hit someone elses car and kept going after realizing the owner of the vehicle was not present.

Experience is great every time and the prices are fair. My only complaint would be the smell of the theatres. Other than that, this is the perfect place to enjoy movies in my opinion.

Movies are very reasonably priced. After choosing a seat there are lights at your table to signal a server. I have never had to wait, service is usually very prompt. One can purchase a large mug, then bring it back on future visits for a an excellent beer for a low price. Food is quite good, they employ trained chefs. I highly recommend this establishment!

Good experience. Food is okay comparable to a fast food restaurant food, but popcorn is awesome per my 15 year old. Place is clean and seat is standard cinema seat. Kid/family friendly environment. Clean restrooms and halls

Where do I start..the smell (smelled like pee), the sticky floors/carpets, the waiting 45 minutes for WATER, the broken a/c in our movie theater or the sticky seats, greasy menus & tables? We will not be back, I just pray to the good Lord no one gets food poisoning bc everything was disgustingly dirty..

Love having dinner while watching a movie. The Chicken Philly is delicious, its full of chicken. The pizza combo is a good way to go the pizza is very good too...

Movie prices are relatively cheap. Food is pricey and typical fare (nothing special, but not bad).

Patrons need to be a bit more respectful toward other patrons. Checking your phone every time is buzzes off and lighting up area around you and then have a several minute discussion interrupts others viewing/listening ability of the movie. Seriously, were you there to watch the movie like others? Also, CC shouldnt have altered their french fries. Loved the former crinkle cut style.

I dont know where to start it was nasty dirty as smelt like old bleach the service was good the food was good. the table was so far in front you couldnt even enjoy your meal without bending your back. They need to Remodel it the other ones in the other cities are much better than that 1 in Hampton Im sorry but I will never go back there again would it looking like that the outside of it looks like a old horror flick

One of the best theater experiences in the city! Theres something on the menu for everyone...From the pickiest kid to someone with dietary restrictions, youre bound to find something good!

Our family of 6 enjoyed it. We went to see madeas family funeral for only$3.75 we laughed and enjoyed some popcorn. Service was so so told us 2 times she would bring us a refill and took a 3rd request and finally got it right before the end of the movie.
