I really like this trail. Very rocky and steep at the beginning, but not bad. Pack a lunch and eat at the top. Foggy day the other day

Thurston trail is at the end of a sleepy little road with decent parking. Unassuming trail that starts off easy then quickly gets rocky and arduous pretty quickly. Get ready to sweat quickly before you get to a higher lever plateau. Roughly 1-2 hour hike to Annapolis rocks depending on if you’re breaking or not. Beautiful right now.

Holy cow! When people say its rocky... Its really rocky. We went on an overcast day and it rained a little. Some of the rocks were slick, but everything was so green!

Love this hike. The first part is beautiful, and flat. The climb is very steep with lots of loose rocks. But once you get to the top, its a nice hike to the views at black rock or Annapolis Rock.

Great hike. There are a lot of trails that intersect so make sure you have a picture of the map. Its quite uphill for awhile there, just keep going! Its beautiful & 100% worth the struggle. You have to cross the creek 3-4 times keep that in mind while picking shoes. I loved my time here, Il be coming back.

Really cool hike up the mountain. Its a bit rocky and a little steep in places. My kids loved it (youngest 7).You may have some difficulty if youre not used to hiking. The only restroom is an old dilapidated outhouse, so ladies go before you head up. The view at the top is amazing, if it a clear day. Still good if not.

Our Pathfinder group hiked up to black rock. It would be nice if there was a sign telling you the distance at the beginning of the trail. It took a good while to get there and come back. It is a very challenging trail. Lots of rocks and tree limbs to go over snd around. Watch your step. A few of us older folks werent as fast as the younger ones.We had a great time.

The trail head isnt clearly defined, and you also have to cross a lot of creeks. Overall it is a decent home, but it could use better labeling. I would also advise anyway to wear water proof shoes, and maybe boots as this is a very Rocky trail.
