Cool little museum with exhibits showcasing early Hunt County/Greenville history, Northeast Texas Cotton production, and of course Audie Murphy. Pretty cheap to visit, and its a fun outing if youre looking to spend 1-2 hours learning something new. Staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions.

The Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum has been a place Ive passed many many times. Im glad I finally stopped passing it and went. It was a neat place to go to check out local history, local heros and learning the process or cotton making. They do have a small gift shop and entrance is $6 per person. Stop passing them up like I did and check them out.

Great place for all that understand or want to understand what our freedom costs.

This is a great little museum! I cant believe Ive lived in this area for 32 years & just visited this past weekend. Has it even been there that long? Friendly staff, I recommend going!

What an interesting little museum! A couple of years ago, I had driven past this, on a day it was closed. I thought Im going to get back in the area again some day & see this. A few days ago, that chance arose and I am happy that everything worked out this time that I could go through this. Local history is very nicely displayed and explained here. I highly recommend this as a stop!

Lots inside a smaller museum! Clean, informative, kind workers, and we loved the little shows at the push of a button. Outside, there are small buildings reminiscent of older times, and they are in the process of building a full blacksmith area outdoors, according to a sign we saw. Admission was $10 for myself and 2 teens, which was great also. Will definitely be telling others to visit

Great look at some Texas history and an American hero. The most decorated veteran of world war II.

Although it was closed due to the pandemic it was interesting to see the old houses and monuments that are on the grounds. interesting destination aftetr a great motorcycle ride

It was a learning experience. Not just about the information on Audie Murphy himself but also about the cotton industry and life back then. Very well worth the visit.

My son loved learning about the history here, he wouldnt stop reading all the signs of the different people!!!

We enjoyed it very much. Informative and educational.

While I was bothered by the large Confederate statue at the front, I am glad I went because the rest of it was very educational and interesting. To be honest, I expected glorification of slavery and war crimes, but I had a great time with very very little racism and learned a lot. The displays were eye-catching, creative, interactive, and best of all, informative.

Very interesting displays. Large building with many features. Inexpensive to enter. Nice clean building & friendly staff. They have time to time special speakers and films. Check out the beautiful statues in front of the museum and the different historical features. Family friendly. Something for everyone.

Small museum with amazing things. Had everything from history from the World Wars to farming to old fashioned cars and clothing. Great place. Keep it up!

Interesting and educational museum to take the kids! They learned a lot and we discussed Audie Murphy and his life for several days.

Good history lesson

More interesting than I expected. Three main sections: The life of Audie Murphy, with a short film and several war related exhibits. The history of the area, including a glimpse at the old main street businesses. And the impact of cotton on the area, with a number of pieces of old farm implements. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

I liked it a lot, everyone from younger generations should know Audie Murphy - a spectacular soldier and an enjoyable actor. Definitely an avant guard advocate for soldier mental health.

Put this on your travel stop. It may be small, but you will be in here for a while. Stop and learn the history of the great town of Greenville. I love the tribute to the military and the section that shows how times were, “way back when”. My favorite part of the museum, besides the exhibits and friendly curator, are the events they hold throughout the year. It really brings the community together in a way that entertains and educates. You will surely enjoy seeing the traveling WWII Able company re-enactment group, when they are able to visit.

We had a great time seeing the Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum.

Actually interesting when you take the time to read the whole plaques. I was surprised by the patriotism inspired by the memorial. I was amazed by the story of Neylandville and the school system. I was curious as to what wasnt said . Better than the average small town museum.

Very honorable and historic place honoring all veterans of all wars. Very heartfelt especially being a veteran myself.

Interesting history of Hunt county with photographs and exhibits. Shows how the population in Greenville and the surrounding communities settled because of the introduction and access to the railroads. Hunt county was very involved in cotton and some of the ginning equipment is on display. Audie Murphy, who grew up in Hunt county, was the most decorated soldier of WWII. There is a short film depicting his life, with military exhibits. $6 for adults, $4 for seniors. Closed Mondays.

Really great place to learn about Audie Murphy and the history of his hometown, Greenville! I truly enjoyed my visit and highly recommend it!

I really liked this little museum. Theres three areas of the museum: life in Greenville and famous people from the area, cotton history for the area and in general, and a Hall of Heros focused around Audie Murphy. I wish there was more info about Audies war experience. The film they showed was a brief overview, but had nothing different than the cards you can read in the exhibits. All in all though Id recommend a visit at least once. Admission was $6 per person.

Fun place to take kids. A walk back in time in Hunt County. Very informative.

Very well done small museum combining history of east Texas cotton industry and a tribute to local WW2 hero, Audie Murphy. We spent two hours there with our two grandsons, 6 and 11. They werent ready to leave but we were running late to another appointment.

This museum is dedicated to the military heros of Hunt County, in particular Audie Murphy, and to the industry that put it on the map, cotton. It is full on interesting artifacts and interactive areas. You will leave understanding more about the county and a feeling of gratitude towards those who created it.

It is a great musime it has a lot of Greenville Texas history and has a lot live action stuff from time to time about history

Very moving, simple yet powerful monument to a Hero.

For a little museum in rural Northeast Texas it was absolutely fantastic. Its divided into three sections, one about the history of the region, one about cotton, and one about the world wars, and Audie Murphy. For the $4 student price, it was absolutely worth it.

A must see!! Much more than just Audie Murphy. Period exhibits on education, agriculture, transportation, and home living.
