Just joined because my regular gym is closed for covid and I need to get my swim on. The GAC is currently open by appointment to members only. The competition pool where I swam is very nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The locker rooms are closed right now but you can change in the single occupancy restrooms which are spacious and nice. Parking was no problem. Lovely facility, glad I joined.

Swim instructors are fantastic. Great personalities and small class size allows for personal attention. Sometimes there are a lot of classes happening at once causing a little bit of over stimulation. Deck coordinator woman is quite a basket case, arguing with parents about mundane details and over-sharing (I didnt realize that happened, I was out last week getting a colonoscopy. Really, was that important?) Were happy here and will continue attending lessons.

Took my children here for a Friday morning swim, the atmosphere seems pretty nice but the rules and regulations are not Clear across the board of staff members. I called before I decided to go because I wanted to check to see if we were allowed to bring inflatables and inner tubes. I was told by a lady on the phone that it was okay as long as i was bringing my own. I arrived and there was a girl working at the front desk also said that it would be allowed. I get into the actual pool/swim area and a guy/lifeguard informs me that its not okay to bring inflatables. I informed him that I was told by two prior people that it was okay. I was highly disappointed because my children use those to aid in swimming and recreation. We proceeded to use the pool anyway and utilize the life jackets that were on hand. After about an hour or so, I was told that another lifeguard failed to inform me that my children couldnt use the pool noodles that were available at the facility but that only the adults could use the noodles. They allowed me to continue to use the noodles but my children had to put them away. This was all disheartening and made the swim experience horrible. This upset my children to the point that they opted to leave sooner than they would have wanted to if this had not occurred. I was misinformed not once but twice and misled. This made our swim experience unpleasant!!! The rules and regulations across the board of staff members was not clear. I find this very unprofessional. At first I didnt think the price for a family was too much, but after experiencing this, I wish they would have given me a refund to be honest. Our swim time was cut short. I dont see myself returning to this place anytime soon and I wouldnt advise anyone with children to go. I was so distraught that I kind of rushed out without speaking with any of the supervisors. This place is not that kid friendly, at least as far as my visit was concerned. I also suggest they add a spa or hot tub as well.

Great facility. Friendly staff. However, as a local with a monthly pass, there is almost no point to being a member... had I known that the center is completely occupied by the local schools swim practice on weekdays and their swim meets on weekends, I would not have become a member. Unless you show up very early in the morning, there are only ever two public lap lanes in the competition pool and one in the rec pool. We are often 3 to a lane. I am currently searching for another facility where I can swim laps.

All the teachers for kids swim lessons are great. Lessons are well worth the money but space is very limited so register early. Parking is not always fun so definitely it ely come early. Really wish there were more family rooms as there is a wait usually and kids must go to the appropriate room starting at 6. Thats the one huge issue I have as you just have to be careful leaving your children alone with strangers in locker rooms. Most of the front desk and event staff are friendly. There is only one who is consistently rude to people.Diving lessons are offered so thats a huge cool point. Tons of swim meets you can watch. Facility is always clean. Rec Pool is handicap accessible via a ramp. Rec pool goes to 4 feet.

Great-looking facility, clean, and inexpensive to visit. I went on a Tuesday morning and practically no one was in the competition pool. Its 92 deep, or just under 3 meters, with very wide lanes. Their policies mention that you need to pass a swim test in order to swim in the competition pool, but no lifeguard asked me or any of the other people that entered while I was there to do so. I spent an hour doing laps and periodically free-diving to the bottom of the pool during my laps. I expect it is much more crowded early in the morning and later at night. According to the calendar, they have swim meets most weekends, which is understandable. There is also a shallower rec pool and a diving well, the latter of which is off-limits to the general public. Its great to have a facility like this in a landlocked city like Greensboro when it can be hard to get to the ocean too often.

A gem in Greensboro. Travel globally and seldom see installations this good + its almost always empty!!! You got 3-4 50 m lanes for yourself. Plus super clean water and showers. Brilliant!! Hope the locals find it one day. They really should ;-)

Nice clean pool with plenty of room to lounge if you dont mind metal bleachers. Very kid friendly and those who want to use the swimming lanes only can do so without a kid swimming into you. During swimming classes they let kids use pool nooodles, life jackets, and there is even some mermaid gear and balls for a little fun at times. Overall, a good time.

The bathrooms do not offer any privacy. I have 5 year old daughter Im trying to teach modesty to, and since there is no changing stalls such as they have in the city pools everyone is changing in the open locker room. My daughter and I were recently exposed to a boy who was being changed by his mother in this area. Yes he was butt naked, so I need to discuss private parts with my 5 year now???? Also, the locker room is very small for a aquatic center for this size and is supposedly state of the art!? I think not. I removed my daughter from her swim lessons needless to say. I hope something can be done to improve the locker rooms...

Great facility clean and plenty of options to swim at different levels. I take my one year old for swim classes and that experience is not what I hoped, but we are gonna finish out the 56.00 bucks worth of instructions. I think the parents in the swim group are awkward and the older instructors are not as exciting! But other than that its a great facility

I am not impressed. They have a whole pool for lap swimming but they rope off half of the public pool for public lap swimming. This takes up the only slightly deeper 4 foot end. Most of the public pool is only 3 feet which causes my feet to drag on the bottom while I am swimming. With half of the pool roped off it stays too crowded. You cant move without somebody running into you.

Overall great place except the people who manage the music really need to learn what censorship is... they played the explicit version of Anaconda by Nicki Minaj. Come on lmao. Plus if you go to a meet here youre gonna fell hungover in that if you spend a long time here your face will be so dry and chlorine-burnt.
