Absolutely lovely park! We were in Greenfield and searched for a park to take walk. We were so pleasantly surprised by its beauty. I highly recommend for a wonderful walk through prairie and wetlands. We will definitely come back to explore more of this park. There is also a place for dogs.

Love the park from the walking trail to the fishing hole! My teenage son and I havent caught a lot of fish out of the pond but it is a shared interest and time with our kids creating memories is far more important and valuable than anything else. I enjoy the well maintained, paved, and motorized traffic free trail with my wife and kids. Put down the remote, turn off their game, and enjoy the citified outside!

Small but cute. And a nice dog park for your little friends. But get a pass for your dog first. Daughter likes the rabbits.

Beckenholdt Park is an amazing place. I used to visit as it was being developed, much to the consternation of the Parks Department. The trails were gravel and there were no shelters or the restroom building. What has been developed is truly a unique park. The parks vegetation is designed to be successional. The park is currently grassland. Some trees are planted. All are native or native cultivars. The park will transition to a wooded area.Tracey Doyle, past Park Superintendent for the City of Greenfield, and her staff, developed this concept for the park. The City Council envisioned sports facilities for the park. Tracey fought hard for the wild concept.Ellen Kuker, current Parks Superintendent, continues Traceys original vision. The park has an occasional wetland near Franklin Street. Another wetland is near the back of the park. In the several years of the parks existence, I have never seen this shallow basin dry. That was until this year when we experienced a drought. I am not certain if recent rains have started to fill the basin. There is a somewhat deeper, fishing, pond a short distance from the restroom building. One of the best things about the park are the paved trails, wooden fishing piers out into the middle pond and wooden observation decks at two places at the shallow pool at the park. All decks have cutouts for those using mobility devices. There is ample, paved, parking in the middle of the park. There is a covered pavilion with picnic tables. There is an auditorium with the capability of soft roofs. There also a grass trail that runs throughout the park. It is called the Loop Trail.Because I am in a power wheelchair that is not off-pavement capable, I appreciate this park immensely. I truly appreciate Tracey Doyle and Ellen Kuker for their efforts in bringing this park to the people of Greenfield and for keeping the vision going.

Very nice dog walking park. Nice paved and some packed dirt paths throughout. Well lit and has security cameras in and around the park. Large clean bathrooms. Bring your baggies to pick up after your dog though I have seen baggies there. Piers into ponds with fishing available. Dry, clean and well lit bathrooms. Spacious park!! Large parking lot. Every time we’ve been there people have been friendly and follow park rules (no loose dogs). There is also a large chain link enclosed dog exercise and play area within. You must apply to County Parks for an admittance tag for your dog for the enclosed exercise area. As with all parks, dogs must be well behaved and friendly, all shots up-to-date, and kept on leash when walking around the park. Great park!!! Best and cleanest dog park I’ve ever seen.

I really appreciate having this pretty, relaxing trail to walk or jog on. You can easily see others across the field, which somehow made me feel a little safer. It is well maintained & has a restroom (not a porta potty), & a dog park. They have the trail presented in an educational way. You always seem close to the park but yet a lot of interconnected trails to get mileage in.

Great for a lovely stroll through a wild field and around a small pond. There are paved and unpaved paths and planking through the marsh. There are covered picnic shelters, restrooms and a small amphitheater. You can also join the dog club and let your pup play in the fenced in dog run.

Beckenholdt Park is an awesome place to take your dog. It has a huge fenced-in yard where your dog can run and play. There are tires they can run through and other items they can play on as well as balls they can chase. Dogs always seem to have a good time here. There is also water available for them. I would recommend this place for anybody.

Love walking the trails however I dont feel safe walking in the back wooded trails. There are security cameras but I am unsure if they actually work. Riley parks cameras have been out of order for some time now so Im unsure if this parks cameras work or not. There is a dog park that you have to pay to use. There is a pond for fishing. Public bathrooms available. Free doggy bags on posts to use as you walk the trails.
