This place right here, let me tell you. Living in Michigan my whole life and you are coming, staying or just traveling through the western parts of the Mitten and you havent been to Stellas yet, what are you doing? Between the chronic fries (buffalo dusted fries) and THE BEST BURGERS IS MICHIGAN, you got a whiskey selection that is topper than notch.Not to mention the layout is retro as if the 80s and 90s had babies and owned a bar and filled it up with pinball machines and classic arcade cabinets. Even as covid-19 takes its toll Stellas staff is courteous and patient as always. Highly recommended and a smashing good time of a spot! 10/10

One of the best local eats in the Downtown GR area. A fun restaurant with great food. Pre-COVID you would have access to classic arcade games which made the great experience even better. If you are in the area definitely try Stellas! My favorite thing to get is their Poor Mans Potato Wings A MUST GET!

Service was amazing. We tried 2 starters, poor mans wings and queso dip. Both were really good. The poor mans wings a must get! Now heres where things got weird. We all got burgers. Supposedly best in America by GQ magazine. They sounded super yummy. The crack fries sounded good to. Well when they got there the fires were disappointing. Frozen fries were what looked like cheeto dust on them. The burger looked amazing. But then totally disappointed when bitten into. We all wondered why it tasted so different. My wife was so disappointed she didnt even eat the meat. When she asked what was in the meat. We found out it was basically meat loaf on a bun. Needless to say definitely not the best burger we have had in America. Other things on the menu looked good but I was definitely skip the burger section. Oh and if your a ranch fan skip that too. Not so good.

Ive tried Stellas five times. The burger is OK. Only OK because each time Ive ordered it...Ive asked for medium rare. Yet I keep getting VERY well done. I dont like my burger well done. This was your last chance. I mean if you arent going to cook it to order then why advertise that you do? Js

Went here for dinner tonight and they did not disappoint. Starters were Fire and the burger and fries were even better. Ashley took awesome care of us and treated us like old friends. God Bless these folks.

First time there, Santa Fe Chicken salad was good.Very good customer service, was treated very nice.Funny 1st time experience, ordered Poor Mans Wings, which arent really wings at all, didnt read the menu correctly, they re actually huge potato wedges fried like chicken wings and drizzled in sauce, a must try for any first times-theyre delicious.

Prices charged were not what were posted on electronic menu and not in our favor. Great service from Tony even though we were outside and not in his view for the majority of our visit. Delicious and filling burgers.

Service was great; bartender/server tonight was awesome - very inviting and friendly. Will definitely be back and recommend to others! The stuffed burger was delicious and definitely hit the spot. Cool, dark vibe in this small bar. Theyre doing appropriately spaced seating during COVID. They have several vegetarian offerings, including a sweet potato burrito and veg nachos with vegan taco meat which was delicious! Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Always love is here. Super cool environment, great people who work there, food is delish, all around great. The safety precautions they take in regards to COVID make you feel safe and respected. Plan on stopping in tonight for some snacks!! Thanks for all you do guys!!

If theres one place I like to go to even if Ive only been there twice, its Stellas Lounge, located at exactly 53 Commerce Ave SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. On god, this is one of the BEST burger restaurants I have been to. The minute you walk in, you are greeted with the most 80s-90s aesthetic I have even seen. There is graffiti lining the walls, pinball machine backgrounds hung up all over the place, televisions displaying all the shows adults grew up with, and arcade machines in the back. If theres one thing this place nails down, its personality, but then it doubles down with the food. Theres this one burger stuffed with cheese, topped with cheese, and some jalapeno poppers and spicy queso on top. I didnt get the poppers on it, but it was SUBLIME. And the fries arent a slouch either, being a unique house fries with secret spice. The whole menu is the best, even including breakfast on weekends. In short, its an excellent restaurant with an unmatched in-your-face attitude that you dont see every day.

Foods great pickup wings and fries once in a while for a treat. Always stopping by to pick up doordash orders and the staff is amazing. Don’t know his name but there’s a guy on the kitchen/ pickup side that’s phenomenal every time I come to pick up an order.

As someone who used to log 30K miles a year on a plane, I have been in my fair share of bars across the country and globe. Stellas remains my favorite bar and it is not hard to guess why. The food is incredible (best burger in America 2013 - GQ), the drinks are strong and tasty, the service is top notch and the atmosphere is welcoming and hip. Can not recommend this place enough!

Amazing food and service every time! Their house-made vegan ranch is one of the best vegan ranches I have had. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options which is always a big selling point to me. The service is always quick and efficient. This helps allow them to handle their huge busy times with ease. Weekends you will probably have a pretty decent wait, but I promise it’s worth it. Picture attached is their vegan no bull sandwich with the diaya added, amazing!

Took my son for his 20th Birthday. We loved it. The burgers were off the hook good. Thank you to Chris who took great care of us. He followed all the rules to keep us and others dining. I highly recommend this place for the best burger you will ever have.

Hands down the best vegan burger Ive ever had (impossible hawaii). The young guy was super nice also, worthy of a tip!

Come here for the atmosphere, which is great. The dark lighting and the ceiling height and the other items they throw in the place give it a super-cozy vibe. The food and drink is good enough and the burgers are decent, but wildly overrated by the public. A good spot to hang.

Nicest bartender I have honestly ever met. A burger that when they say medium, it’s medium. Would definitely come again when in GR.

The Burger was really dry and the Chronic fries were not very chronicky.. the cheese con queso dip was lumpy and you could tell it was a few days old. Pretty disappointed.

Ive always heard great things about Stellas, and with being nearby, we decided to finally check it out. Our waiter (Tony) was absolutely helpful, and talked with us like weve been friends for so long. The options of Whiskey on their menu is ENDLESS!! with a lot of amazing tastes Ive never heard of. I tried their well known Stella burger, and it was PHENOMENAL. Highly recommended.

Stellas is okay, the tables are setup well for social distancing. The food was not bad my daughter and I had the plain burger. The interior was cool for a bar restaurant. It however was stuffy and hot inside. I would have thought that with the limited people in the restaurant it would have been cooler inside.

Great lounge! Service was attentive and helpful without being overbearing. Drink selections include dozens of local and national beers and a couple hundred whiskys. The atmosphere is upbeat with good music that can be heard and heard over. And the food is just freaking amazing! Will definitely be returning!

Food was great. We had the jalapeno popper burger and the avocado bites. Both were amazing. The burger was cooked to well and it was not dry at all. I could drink the sauce that came with the avocado bites. Chronic fries lived up to their reputation. Service was quick and friendly. Cool place and good food!

The worst service. Ive never been treated with such absolute disrespect. The server threw our checks at us Amelia, she screwed up our drink orders. From the minute we arrived we were treated with contempt, snapped at, no tact in words or exchanges. We are great tippers and were horrified by the manager and the cooks speaking to us. On the plus side food was really good, too bad the service from everyone in there was awful.

The impossible burger with a side of plain fries is not bad. They do take-out. The atmosphere is real intense at first since I felt the AC was blasting and the light is dim. The paintings on the wall are really out of this world! I will do take-out next time because with the Covid 19 going around only six people can sit at a table which is smart. They do have compostable boxes which I love!

Delicious burger. Countrys best? I know a few joints in San Diego that would argue otherwise. But I wouldnt hesitate to buy another there. Chronic fries were tasty too, but make sure you like vinegar before you order them - otherwise go with naked fries

Great food, has gluten free buns HOWEVER its a $3 upcharge for the gf bun and the fries ARENT gf so your only option is the side salad which is ANOTHER $2 upcharge. So if youre gf be prepared to spend $20 on a burger entree

Very cool space. Lots of cool art. Video games! An awesome place to meet up with friends. The burger was AMAZING! Indulgence on a bun. Dont go if you are looking for a quiet space. Our server was fantastic. Friendly and attentive. Overall a great experience. Just remember if its too loud, you may be too old. ☆☆☆☆☆

Better than average. Broad whiskey selection, but nothing top tier. The food menu was short but diverse. The place was packed but the service was responsive. Lots of really cool old arcade games in front and back of the bar. The food was very well prepared. I wish I had gone sooner to spend more time. Definitely top of the list to visit downtown.

If you like soup, you WILL find something good here. Yum! I like that you can taste samples before ordering to make sure you get what you like. Their breads are fantastic too. Havent tried the grilled cheeses, but they look incredible. If you live in the area, get a punch card!!

It was an amazing experience eating here. While eating my delicious meal I was able to watch Roccos Modern Life and Bob Ross. After that, I was able to take in the scenery. The art and decor is so unique there. I then was able to play arcade games like it was the 1980s. My sister and mother were able to get vegan food there. It honestly blew my mind with how great this place is. The staff was very friendly as well. I want to go to Grand Rapids just to go to this restaurant.

Good food, cool vibes. They had about a dozen or so old school arcade games and a big menu that had lots of options (including a few vegetarian/vegan choices). There was a full bar with a solid beer selection and the service was friendly.Heads up, the place isnt that big and does get busy, so give yourself some time if you go during peak hours.

Dined here @ lunch today. We got some apps. Those were very good. The drinks were solid. The burgers looked really good but they just don’t taste that great. Not sure what it is, but it’s been like that the last few times I’ve dined here.

Come here for the poor mans potato wings alone, theyre amazing! Im tempted to order another plate of them just to take home.

We met our cousins here for a drink and since they hadnt eaten dinner yet, we grabbed some of their famous fries to snack on since we didnt want them to eat alone. Drinks and service were good. Everyone enjoyed their food as well. It was a Saturday night and we lucked out and got the last table available. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back soon!

Overall, a really great time. Long wait but it was peak dinner hour(s) and we were a party of 12. Known for the best burger in America. It was very good but best, hmmm, I dont know about that. The appetizers were odd but really cool and the bar selection was cool. It was hot as hell inside, so a ceiling fan may have helped but be very prepared. Nice, quick walk (excluding the homeless begging) from downtown Grand Rapids. Nice but VERY small outside seating and only off street parking available.

This place has amazing burgers. The fries are perfect. Cold beer. Full bar. Can be a bit loud during the night time as part of it transforms into a dance floor with DJ. Overall great place to eat.

I love the nostalgia decor and retro arcade games. The acceptance of all walks of life is extremely commendable and comfortable to be around as a lesbian couple with kids. Great place for early Sunday dinner with the kids. Enjoyed our waiter, Jeremy, informative, excellent with our 16 and 14 year old kids. Talked to them not down. Excellent lounge.

Incredibly average burgers for the prices they charge. My husband and I were underwhelmed to say the least - both burger being cooked well well done and quite flavorless. I would expect more out of a $13 burger, seeing as there as many $5 burger offerings in the city of higher quality. That being said, atmosphere is cool and service was great.

Little ridiculous, my partner and I made a reservation, waited an hour and said they didn’t accept cash because of “germs” COVID doesn’t spread through touch! It would be nice if the sign outside saying no cash was on the website it would of been better.

Amazing restaurant. The burgers are a bit pricy but that’s what you expect when the burger is the size of your head. While waiting to be seated or served the arcade is an excellent touch to the vibe of the little but big bar. Playing good music that anyone can jam too and overall amazing staff. Waitress was very nice and had an excellent sense of humor. Would recommend it to anyone who likes arcades and burgers that are downright delicious.

Don was my server he was super nice, attentive, knowledgeable in helping me find a good drink and has a crush worthy voice. The food is super delicious and the drinks are quite tasty. Ill definitely be back.

Very hard to get a seat during the evenings, even on weekdays, but they have an insanely large whiskey selection, from the cheap stuff all the way up to $80 pours. It may have been years since the Stella Blue burger won best burger in Grand Rapids, but it still holds up as one of my favorites.

Good safe location. They offer a nice variety of drinks. A good variety of appetizers, and a nice list of hamburgers. Some are stuffed and some are not. We will be back. (Keep in mind that parking is free on the weekends)

A cool, trendy establishment. The tequila lime chicken taco was yummy; the union rings were good; the wings were great! The server was attentative and effective. However, two woman began fighting in the dining area, disturbing our meal. Shockingly, the staff did not remove the derelicts! They attempted to mediate and allowed the patrons to stay. One of the fighters left the resturant by choice, only to return at a later time without being asked to leave. There was no more violence but the idea that she could come back, she could have gone to get a weapon. Stellas does not have medal detectors, wands or pat-downs at the door. In the future, I hope they will kick all violent persons out for the sake of the tequila lime chicken taco.

I absolutely love this place! With COVID-19 going on, you check in with the hosts outside and then youre seated. My friend and I ordered the Spicy Queso Dip and burgers. One Jalapeño and one Government Cheese. It was beyond delicious and well worth the money! We will be returning again!

Variety of food and beverages. We tried deep friend avocado, it was great! Service has been spotty. But overall we enjoy the laid back environment and playing the arcade games.

So I heard a lot of talk about Stella’s Lounge over the years and finally decided to give them a try...let me tell you! Please don’t believe the hype! Yes their burgers are huge, but they lack in flavor terribly!!!. I bought the Government Cheese Burger with the Chronic Fries for $14 and their burgers are wayyy overpriced for no reason! you can barely taste any type of seasoning and it’s hard to even tell that the burgers are stuffed with cheese as they said it would be! The fries are ok it seems like one of the main ingredients they use with the fries “special seasoning” is Franks Red Hot Sauce...but again they were just ok! I’m starting to think that some people base their reviews off the quantity of food they receive instead of if it actually taste good....I guess that’s what I get for believing the hype. I will not order from here again.

The place and atmosphere are funky and chill, the food is delicious, the portions are large and the service is prompt.

Stellas was recommended by friends so we decided to check it out. There were a good number of arcade games, but when we went there were about 30 teenagers playing all the games so we didnt get our arcade on like we had planned. I got the tacos, my boyfriend got a burger. I would definitely get a burger next time, I figured street tacos would come in soft shells! Our server had great energy and was very friendly. I will say that she told us most of their food comes from Gordon Food Service, which made me a little sad, but I would definitely go back again.

Amazing service, reasonable prices, really nice burger BUT, the avocado nuggets felt like they were battered in salt and nothing else. I would still recommend this place since we had a good time in a very nice place and again, the (impossible) burger was nice and so was the waiters.

Sweet place with extensive whiskey menu and some solid tacos. Wings were delicious. Atmosphere was a 5/5 with the drinks being awesome. Staff was super chill and knowledgeable. Would definitely go back. *also they have some arcade games there*

Loved the burgers and fries here!! Great drink options and even a Thursday night special where for purchase of a select drink get $5 off - what a deal!! Didn’t even have to consider an alternative since we had heard so many great reviews of the burgers here - Stella did not disappoint! Service was good. Wait was longer than expected - we checked in with a 15-20 min wait time and waited over 30mins... would deter me from returning but it did keep me from giving 5 star rating...if I could give 4.5 I would. Go check it out - the eclectic art and vintage arcade games adds to the experience.

Waitstaff rocked, masks rules were followed and enforced, lots of vegetation options, and our drinks were great.

Now that Ive got my little boy, whose only six, turned onto the food and the video games... I will get to come even more often!!!

Fun arcade for the teenager in us all, no change machine but Im sure the bartender is used to being asked for a few quarters in change. A very fun atmosphere, good for nights with friends. Lots of seating around amazing local art.

Stellas is AWESOME. The staff has been delightful every time Ive gone. Shout out to our waitress Sam, who was extremely attentive and nice.This place is LGBT friendly, they love everyone here.The TVs play 90s cartoons, and old movies which is part of the cool atmosphere.Theres interesting artwork all over the walls, tables, and even in the bathroom!The food is fantastic, I recommend the Veggie Bean Chili. It goes great with Cider.Dont forget to bring some quarters for the arcade!

We went there today (June 27th) and We got a half and hour away and said they forgot to give us something. We went back for it, but yet my order was messed up, didnt get something and they had something I asked for none of it. :( but I give it 3 stars bc its still really good food and deserves some credit

The Meat Tornado burger is awesome. Several others looked tempting too. Fun local bar that had some really talented karaoke singers on hand also.

Temperature of dance side was boiling. Half the guys on the dance floor were just standing motionless, not talking to anyone, tapping their foot, or bobbing their head. Was this some Sadie Hawkins thing and they were wallflowers? DJ was fine, taking all requests. Drinks prices were fair, bartenders were quick, prompt, and friendly.

We enjoy this place. Great food, and fantastic service. They reacted very well to an error-ridden to-go order. Couldnt recommend highly enough. Great vegetarian options and the whisk(e)y list is endless.

I cant opine on the food because it was too crowded to order, but the service here is 100% on point. Quick, friendly, efficient, carding the millenials, knowledgeable about the specials, high energy. Some of the best bartenders I have had the pleasure of serving me. Also, tightly curated beer/whiskey selection. Highly recommended.
