Who doesnt enjoy laughing?! Thursday night shows arent as busy (obviously depending on who is performing) but weekend shows are a great way to start your night before going out. Some food is offered and the drinks are good. They bring in some good talent and youll have fun

High quality Comedy, Schanzy venue. Service fees rolled into the bill at checkout; processing fees added onto the ticket price. 2 drink minimum purchase required. Pricey food; small portions.

Packed house. Staff was attentive and quick. Food was reasonably priced with good portion sizes. Drinks were well made and not too pricey. Only complaint is that the entrance was roped off and you couldnt really find information on when doors open. The website asks that you show up at LEAST 30 minutes before show start but apparently 45 is too early.

First time being at a comedy show and I loved it! I went with my fiancé because we both love Dan Cummins. I didnt understand the 2 drink minimum at first, but it seems to be a pretty standard thing, which I understand. The MC and opener were very funny and I loved being able to see Dan Cummins live! I also loved being able to meet with him and his wife Lynze after the show. Theyre both super nice, and even signed our phone cases. My fiancé and I will be coming back to see Chad Daniels in a couple weeks!

The main act was pretty good. The host was a little awkward and a little over the top. Seating needs to be a little bit more relaxed. Had a co-worker have an issue with the staff telling them where to sit because the other spots were going to be filled and ended up being empty.

Waitress was amazing! Show was incredible! Love the atmosphere! Very small place so there are no bad seats, but we were seated directly next to the stage so we actually rested our feet on it and Drew Lynch made a joke about my husband resting his feet on it! Hes THE BEST!!! Would definitely see another show here!

Great comedy acts, decent layout. The problem is the people that attend. Every single time Ive gone there are people talking, people show up late, and its so consistent and people hardly ever get kicked out even when the comics break their sets and call it out. Been to second City in New York and Chicago a couple of times, and they just dont put up with that. Love the shows, not the audience.

Went to see Drew Lynch tonight and it was great. It was actually my first time being in The Bob, on top of my first visit to Dr. Grins. Id definitely recommend. The service was good, albeit a tad bit slow, but then again with a room packed full of people for a sold out show, its to be expected. Depending on the act, Id definitely go again.

I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. Not counting the price for the tickets, my husband and I left this past Friday night with a $51 bill for a total of 5 WELL drinks. They were about $9 each, plus a $8 ‘service fee’. The 2 drink minimum is annoying, but we like to drink so that’s not really an issue for us. And even though food can count towards your 2 drink minimum there’s no vegan options for us so we ate elsewhere beforehand. I should add that I already paid a ‘service fee’ when I purchased the tickets so in total to come here, enjoy some comedy (that was a little outdated, sexist and overall just not very original) and a few drinks I spent just under $80. I probably won’t go back.

Love the comedy, but the requirement to buy drinks is silly. The food was great! By the time we left (two people), Ive spent $80 bucks not including tickets to the event. Plan accordingly....

Amazing space. Small, but quaint. Would definitely reccomend. Also, its loud and dark with a 2 drink minimum... which means when you pay your bill be careful and dont accidentally tip your waitress 60 on 20.

Really enjoyed seeing Drew Lynch here with one of my very best friends. Super excited to have someone like him so close to my home (I live about 2 hours away.)Only thing was no one was attending the velvet rope at the entrance at the bottom of the stairs. With so many people filing in and out, the rope was dropped and we almost lost our spot which was second in line. We came very early in order to secure front row seating. People that had arrived much later started heading up about 5 minutes early and we quickly followed along with the people that were first in line. The attendants asked us to go back down, but by then nearly everyone else had filled the stairs and there was no way to turn back. It was well handled from then on and we waited patiently while they did their final reset. The servers were fantastic! Knew what they were doing and returned to everyone a few times.

We went to a show here a few months ago. The comedian was fantastic. The drinks were ok. I wouldnt recommend the food at all (overpriced and cold). A lot of people around us were upset about their bills, as the tip was automatically added into the bill amount and was non-negotiable. I didnt mind as our service was ok but I can see why that might be frustrating if you received exceptionally poor service. Overall a great experience!

Great venue for a comedy show. Didnt care for the drink selection they offered. The majority of them were juice with a splash of alcohol. We ordered a pizza that looked good but wasnt cooked properly and was doughy. Make sure you dont sit behind any of the large pillars, you wont be able to see the comedians.

Dr. Grins is a great place to laugh. We went on a Thursday, which is open mic night. Most of those guys were not that funny, but the headliners were hilarious. Its a typical comedy club setup, so you are expected to purchase 2 items (drinks and/or food). The seats are spaced very close together, so be prepared to be knocking knees with some random people, but overall makes for a great date night or group outing. The house specially cocktails are pretty good too.

Always a fun experience full of laughs. Usually a limited draft menu, which I always found odd with a brewery directly a floor below. The pizzas are great! Check the upcoming comedians and your bound to see a familiar face coming to town soon. Id only recommend double checking your receipt before giving the wait staff your card, sometimes gratuity is included in the bill. And the receipts you get to sign dont mention it.

Its an enjoyable place to hang out with friends and family and catch some laughs. Comics are typically quite funny and engaging to the crowd. Drinks are typically served relatively quickly but food takes a while. Best to eat prior to arriving or perhaps after the show.

First time there. The chairs are packed so closely together that theres no space left on the floor for your feet to get to a table without minor injury. Thats before humans are sitting in the chairs. Getting to the bathroom is an obstacle course. The entertainment was great. Staff not so much. We had a reserved table for a party and were amongst the first seated for the night but were served last. Our server told us they didnt know our table was theirs after we watched them sit down and socialize with coworkers on the other side of the room. They went to the trouble of making a personalized reserved for (guest name) sign for the table but didnt assign a server.

Bought tickets and were really excited to see the comic we had purchased tickets to see. Came to show with said comics posters still plastered around and no word from staff that the original comic we had paid to see was not going to make it. We only found out when he never came on stage. Plus service and food left much to be desired, food was cold and unappetizing, will not be going back and do not recommend.

We had a wonderful time durring the show! Roy Wood Jr. was hillirous! Getting in and out of there was a completely different story. Keep a mental note that if you go there, you can only use the bathroom durring the show. I made the mistake of holding it because i didnt want to miss anything. Wow...big mistake. The guy at the back door to the restrooms, refused to let me in and said i had to use the ones downstairs, and the line leaving the comedy club was at a complete stand still for at least 10 mins. Four coronas were 24.50

Took my wife out to this comedy club. The room I relatively small. So they pack as many people in the room as they can, which means that you are LITERALLY bumping elbows with the other guests because you are just a few inches from the next person. The room was cold as heck we had just walked from the parking garage in the cold, only to have the room feel like we never came in from the cold. We actually had to wear our coats throughout the entire show. Lastly the have these ceiling post in the room. I know they are aware that these things LITERALLY block your entire view of the comedian. They sat us behind one of these posts. The guy who was seating everyone had a permanent scowl on his face, which was interesting.

The best comedy club in downtown gr. Always great shows and funny comedians, 2 drink minimum per person. If you like alchohol then get the grand river water drink. There shows are always sold out. Negative side of the clubs structure is the wood pillars they support the room. Sometimes you get seated right were there is a pillar blocking your view of the comedian which is good if you want to hide from them. Bathroom is easy access during shows but after definitely a lot harder to get to. Also if you like Facebook then go to there faces book every week they give away free tickets for 4ppl to shows which is the main reason I have been there a ton of times so trust me you can win and will eventually.

The show is fun, but not a fan of the pricing model. You buy the ticket, then you get there and HAVE to buy two drinks, THEN they tack on a service fee to the bill. Why not just build that into the original ticket price and not nickle and dime patrons once theyre there? Ive gone to several shows and think theyre funny, just find the rest a bit slimy.
