There was a bad snowstorm, which prevented me from being able to attend the show. I contacted the Center to discuss a refund or a credit. I tried to call customer service and could not get anyone on the phone for 2 days. I left a message and only got a return call after a week. The denied me any recourse. They told me that my money would simply be converted into a donation. For people who claim to be about the arts, which should be about advancing compassion, I was surprised that they werent willing to work with me. So, for me, they score very low on Customer Service. Thats why I will never attend a music event at this venue, even if its an act I want to see. Ill go elsewhere. Its a real shame. I was looking forward to going.

What an amazing place to have a wedding! Carla was great to work with. She made planning a wedding as painless as possible. I love the fact that we were able to have our ceremony and reception at the same location. Our friends and family were amazed by the venue!

I need to get this warning out there. I am a bigger guy, no doubt. 67 440lbs. I went here and I think even if I had been as thin as a rail my legs would not have fit in any row but the front. The place looks great and Im sure it sounds amazing, but be warned if you are larger and are looking to go here.Edit after response from owner:The ushers attempted to help me by putting me in what looked to be a single, very old, handicap chair to the side that I was worried I may break if I sat in it for too long, and that also didnt help my wife who had the same issues as me.

Royce auditorium does have a gorgeous ambiance, but there are a few things to be aware of: zero leg room, must stand up to allow people in or out of the row. No air conditioning, not sure if its this way always or if it was broken- 83 in gr today and inside the hall was even warmer. Seats Left q 1 and r 1 are directly behind a support pole with limited view of the stage. On the plus side, ushers will move guests seated there if possible. From further back the actors/singers words were very difficult to understand and the orchestra overpowered them. I would consider revisiting for symphony, but definitely not for opera.

This gorgeous, historic music center has potential for many of my #DiscoveryMichigan customized group experiences. #CityTour #ArtTours #HistoryTour #GhostTours #MusicTour #GrandRapids #EduTours. I explored all the way up through the haunted rafters to the roof, where there is a fantastic view! (See Discovery Michigan Facebook page for pics.)
