Have stayed at this hotel several times but it has become very shabby in the past couple of years. No where near a luxury/high end hotel as advertized. While the restaurant/bar waitstaff and food were great the room had a lot to be desired. We were there 3 nights. No bell service. The curtains in the room were torn and barely hanging, who in the world hangs a towel rack over the toilet? NO HOUSEKEEPING services the entire time! We had to go hunt down a housekeeper to get clean towels and to take her the trash and get a new trash bag! They used to give free or at least discounted tickets to the hot pool across the street, but no more. Very disappointed at the quality of the hotel for the price. We will not be staying there again!

Everyone in the hotel was so very, very pleasant and accommodating and we had a fantastic dinner in the hotels dining room. However, sadly, that was the best part of our stay. While the rooms are a great size for hotel of this age there was no thermostat in the room and even with the window open the room was too hot to sleep. The sheets had holes in them, the carpet was too disgusting to walk on without shoes, the furniture was dented, scratched and looks like it came from Goodwill, definitely not antiques, and while the bathroom was a good size and fairly clean it was sorely in need of an update. Im sorry to say I would not stay here again.

I understand this is an older hotel. The website I used to book the room made it seem like the hotel was a great historical hotel with charm. Nothing could be further from the truth. My family and I were on vacation and thought it would be a nice place to try. See photos. Horrible room with furniture that is scratched, peeling wall paper, and bad housekeeping. See photos . Had a very bad vibe too. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was Ms.Petal the front desk person who checked us in was very nice.

Nice accommodations and 1800s feel. The restaurant especially was really nice for breakfast. Some furniture around and photos, art decor, do give you some nostalgia for those days. The rooms are certainly outdated, and the heating radiators and plumbing is really noisy. Overall it was well worth it as part of a visit to the hot springs.

Let me start by saying, I worked in hotel hospitality for 15 years and AGM for 5 and The Front Desk Staff, From the morning person, to the lovely Night Audit made our stay extra wonderful. They were extremely accommodating and friendly and informative. The Energy here combined with the ancient artifacts and furniture gives this place a very special type of energy you cant find no where else. We had some great, paranormal experiences here as well being my first time Glenwood. My friend and I would rate this stay and place a 5/5 , if it wasnt for your Cafe Staff member being very short, and non informational about anything. We felt and took it personally on how she treated us. Especially when my friend was trying to buy a gift for family with a price tag on the item and she quickly snapped and raised the price on the item all because of the color of the item which doesnt make any sense. This was after we had a couple bad short comings with the female staff member. Everyone else other than her made our stay extra special and will be coming back to share more lovely experiences again

Really truly sad to see this hotel in its current state. The hotel is in desperate need of a restoration and has been neglected for a long time. Considering that it is a historic building, iconic to the area, it deserves to be refurbished. Done correctly, it could be in standing next to The Brown Palace or The Broadmoor, and people would pay quite a bit more money to stay there... especially with its location and lack of competition.

This is a nice and historic hotel, with a beautiful exterior, courtyard and lobby. The employees were friendly, but overall the place seemed a bit understaffed. The location was perfect and within easy walking distance (even with kids in tow) of most attractions. Our main complaint was the room itself. I understand it is a historic hotel and many modern amenities wont be available (example; 5 minute wait for hot water). I am okay with that. What I was not okay with was the general disrepair and dinginess of our room. There was water damage to the ceiling and walls around the tub/shower. Also an access panel was a lose and hanging down. The bed in general was very uncomfortable. The AC was a window unit, which would have been fine, but the black-out curtains for said window reached from ceiling to floor. When shut, the curtains created a pocket around the AC unit that prevented the air from getting to the rest of the room. This meant you had to choose between having a cool room or having a dark room at night time. It did look like there were some renovations going on, including some of the other rooms, so not sure if all the rooms are in as bad a shape as ours was. Given the cost, I did not think the quality of our specific room matched up with what we paid.

I’ve been coming up to the Hotel Colorado for years now. It’s always been awesome. Since new management this place has kinda taken a turn. They now charge an extra $150 fee until they check your room for damages after you leave. (They should put that on the website!!) We then told them multiple times that we wanted to pay with cash but told us we could at the end of our stay. We just had to have a card on file. Nope they charged $600 to our card. And said they could refund it money and pay cash but it would take a couple of day to get our money back. $150 of that would be refundable if there was no damages. They were also kinda rude about it. They also use to play music fitting to the hotel history... They don’t do that anymore. For the price you pay for this hotel you shouldn’t have to deal with this!

Went there on a busy holiday. We got in about a minute or two after the time for the reservation despite the place being packed. Staff were friendly and the physical structure is amazing. Lobby and restaurant full of happy people.Menu has become more casual with a lot of sandwiches and the like. Service, frankly, was slow. Said sandwiches took about 45 minutes to arrive. Reason is likely that we were the last people seated and the restaurant was totally full. Hostess was walking people about every 2 or 3 minutes. Food, when it arrived, was pretty good, but not worth walking a mile for, as the old ads used to say.So, good, but not the best Ive had there. It’s a neat old building and a good location close to the hot springs pool. You can easily walk across the pedestrian bridge that leads to the cute downtown. (Why is this poor little town divided by the 70 and another highly trafficked street? But I digress.)I liked sitting out in the front, where there is a fountain and pretty flowers, to have a nice quesadilla and drink.I like the historical touches: for example, the old safe and cash registers on display. The rooms and common areas are in need of renovation. It’s extremely dated and kinda dingy feeling. Hope they can find the $$$ to restore it to its former glory, when Teddy Roosevelt and other luminaries stayed.

Its a historic building with lots of character and information about its past that you can read all over the building. I liked that. I enjoy Christmas trees, carols, wreaths, and all the trappings of secular Christmas. When I saw that Hotel Colorado has over a dozen Christmas trees and thousands of lights, I decided to visit.I wasn’t disappointed. The lobby is large, with many cozy nooks, and fireplaces at each end. There are Christmas trees galore. Classic Christmas carols play in the background, and those can be a bit much after the first couple of plays. The outside lights are magnificent, really special. It would be a great place to take your kids. So, five stars for cozy Christmas. There are three eateries: a bar, restaurant, and coffee shop. The food was ok, a little pricey in my view. Three stars for food.My room was just ok. It was spacious and clean. The sheets were fine. The mattress wasn’t up to the standards of hotels in this price range. Three stars for the room. The hotel is an easy walk from the magnificent Glenwood Springs hot pools, and to the fun downtown with interesting restaurants, shops and stores. There are a couple of dispensaries nearby if you’re interested. In closing, don’t go to the Hotel Colorado for a luxury hotel experience. It’s an old place, in the process of restoration. However, if you would enjoy an older hotel for what it is, if you like to hang out in a vast lobby with lots of nooks for reading and conversation, and if you’d like to enjoy Glenwood Springs and its amenities, this place is worth a try.And if you like the trappings of the Christmas season, this is worth going out of your way to visit.

They wait until your pet is here to charge you the unmentioned 50 dollars a night for your pet to stay. Cobwebs in every corner. Trash all over the floor when we checked in. Outdated and gross. Not historic, dirty, old and outdated with a couple pictures of Teddy Roosevelt would be a better description. You can check out the history without staying here. The front desk person was knowledgeable and excited to share info with us, despite the fact that anytime we were at the desk or walked by, there was a huge line and only one person at the desk who seemed responsible for much more than just check in/outs, she kept a good attitude. But I will knock a star just for having over-worked and under-staffed (but great) personnel and a long wait for any assistance as a result. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are adequate- this is an old building so some wear and tear is to be expected and frankly is part of the charm.
