They did a great job of putting on a concert with all the necessary cautions for health.

We arrived about 25 minutes early to a white coat ceremony expecting to not find parking or seating. Is addition to a large parking lot there is a multi level parking garage. We were quickly guided to our seats as well.

Beautiful hall, spacious stage and backstage area. Great dressing rooms, solid lighting and sound, and amazing staff. This is a top-notch venue that can handle all manner of performing groups, large and small.

Went with family to see Book of Mormon here. Love the venue. We were up high in the E section box seats though and do not recommend this section for shows with dialogue as the music overpowers the vocals. I found it difficult to understand the words when the music was playing. I’m not going to discount the fact that my hearing may be going but my group of four also had trouble making out the words.

We saw the nutcracker and it was wonderful The set was fabulous and the costumes were anazing.

I have always had an enjoyable time at this venue. Good view from almost anywhere, awesome entertainment options- that could just about please anybody-, reasonably priced refreshments, courteous staff, easy access parking and more.

The facilities are large and clean. Concession options are limited though so I might suggest eating before going to see a show. Otherwise the acoustics are great and best viewing spots are balcony and low (A-E) seats on the mezzanine.

Beautiful theater with some really great shows. Prices are usually very fair and its always a good experience. Highly recommend! UF students also get $10 tickets here for any seats.

A very nice venue. High rake on their stadium style seating prevents heads from the rows in front of you from blocking your view. Good sound throughout.

Modern performance art center with high quality offerings. We saw the Paul Taylor Dance Company and enjoyed it very much.

This was a visit for Easter service. It was easy to find and there was enough parking for the event.

We visited for the Cinderella production(superb, 2thumbs up). Staff are friendly. Facility was very clean. Security guards on site. Bathrooms were clean. All glass windows and doors were finger and smudge free(my own peeve, hate dirty windows)

Great play. Needed to have traffic control after the play. Other than that, nice afternoon.

I took my mom to see The Nutracker Ballet, she loved it. I was a bit disappointed though, they ran out of bottled water to purchase and my mother cannot have sodas.

Great venue with nice seating and accessible parking. Its a small enough area that it keeps the performance cozy.

Small theatre with good seating, questionable acoustics or a technical issue the night we saw Book of Mormon. It was hard to hear some dialogue, but may have been due to other factors.

Want you there at 1hr before play begins then stand around for an hour. It would have been nice to visit the musuem but it was closed during that hour.

Attended my daughters graduation here. Beautiful building BUT although wheelchair accessable it IS NOT wheelchair friendly when it comes to seating. My nephew had to sit in the far back against the wall and was only allowed to have 1 person sit with him. There was only 2 wheelchair pits in the bottom part of the theater even close enough to see stage and that was one on each far outside row. This would be the only critic that I would have against this building but one I hold close to my heart.

Beautiful theater that offers something for everyone. Unfortunately, for those not so privileged, they will not be able to enjoy the experience of a diverse culture. For a family of two tickets can cost $150+. Most families have at a minimum of 3. There should be some type of way for lower income families and their children to experience theater. We normally head to the Florida theater in Jacksonville as theyll offer X amount of tickets at a lower price for various events. Which, for a family of 4, we can enjoy dinner, travel, and the experience for around $200. I love Gainesville. Its my home town. But we do not offer access to culture for all. And that is wrong.

Once again the very poor acoustic s of the Phillips Center have ruined a performance for me. Row N Orchestra and still I could hear only 50% of the dialogue and lyrics in The Book of Mormon. I thought it was my hearing until I corroborated with 4 other people in that audience.

This is a wonderful facility to see a show or listen to a music performance.

I really enjoyed the presentation of the Sound of Music. However, at the ending there were three (3) beautifully illustrated “Swastikas” were displayed. I found that to have been very offensive to me; the scene could have be done just as effectively without them. It seemed as though Nazi Symbolism was being celebrated. Therefore, I DO NOT plan to attend the Sound of Music again.

Glad they have touring Broadway shows but heard many people complaining about the bad acoustics, which meant that in a show like The Book of Mormon, a lot of the spoken dialogue and jokes were lost. I sat near the front and didn’t experience this issue but people further back were disappointed that they couldn’t make out the words.

Very nice venue. Good sound and the attendants were very helpful. We saw a dance production and it was very good. They seem to provide a nice variety of performance items for everyone

Upper balcony has bad acoustics and really bad if you fear heights. Otherwise, its a nice place.

Nice venue. Great acoustics; you can hear clearly even in the back. There was a short discussion about the show we were seeing beforehand...nice touch!Beer, wine and snacks available. Great security presence!

The Up Stage venue was amazing. Very intimate and unique. Get there early to enjoy the appetizers and get good seating.

The Phillips center always has some really interesting shows (Kinky Boots and The Sound of Music are two of my favorites there), as well as having really affordable prices for students. The staff there is extremely nice and efficient.

Ive seen two ballets here and both very excellent. Prices were good. I do wish they served coffee and tea during intermission.

The production of the Nutcracker was well done.

The very hungry caterpilar was nice but to expensive for 40 min of a show of puppets. Same show was cheaper in Tampa so makes me think that UF charges wait to much for using the Phillips Center.

We saw the final performance of this season of the Gainesville Orchestra under direction of Evans Haille. This is a real treasure for our community. The performance included professional soloists who who perform all over the world. We will have season tickets once again. Bravo!

Everything was good for graduation it was hot in there. Overall good!! I didnt like how they directed traffic.

This is the place everyone should go at least once in your life. There are shows of all genres. Ballet jazz comedy plays country symphony. Check out their upstage events.

Eight of us saw The Broadway Musical Pippin (2-19-17)The Curtis M. Philips Center is an impressive building with picturesquegrounds, ample free parking and a short walk into the center.The play, Pippin, was delightful to say the least. Colorful, up-beat, talented performers who kept us entertained the entire time.My personal favorite was Pippins grandmother but the entire castdeserve kudos.Awesome...including the heart-warming message that prevailed in the story.

This is a wonderful place, where there are outstanding concerts, plays, and other cultural events presented to Gainesville. All very high quality offerings, far more impressive than what one would expect in a college town.

Great shows, but the seats leave a lot to be desired. They swallow you when you sit and there is no room between your knees and the seat in front of you making it extremely uncomfortable for people to get in and out of the aisle.

Beautiful facility that hosts many shows during the year, including Broadway theatre shows, and musicals, dance shows, comedy shows, and symphonies performances. UF students receive discounted tickets to watch those amazing national shows.

Went to the Wiz showing. The show was great, but this location could use more bathrooms.

Cinderella ballet was AWESOME AMAZING

The programming is outstanding. We love having quality theater so close to home! The comfort is not great, however. The seating is very narrow making it impossible to sit with arms at sides and the seat cushions are very uncomfortable. It was difficult to sit for two hours without an intermission.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The biggest issue is always intermission. Long long lines for food and beverages. Also the bathroom

Excellent venue for viewing a performance. Intimate with good acoustics. Seats are a little dated and not super comfortable but not bad. Staff is always adequate and helpful. Parking is plentiful, though you may have to walk a little.

Good parking even during the busiest events. Personal favorite is Scrooge during the Christmas season. Clean seating area with a large venue.
