They did a good job of putting on a bad play. Fitting for 2020.

It was my first time at Gainesville Community Playhouse and was wonderful! We enjoyed the play very much.

The plays produced in this theater are outstanding. Ive gone to four shows in the past year and they have all been excellent. The talent in the community is wonderful to see and makes for a great entertaining experience. In addition, the sets are well done and the lighting is excellent as well. In terms of the service, the house managers and ushers are always polite and courteous. The theater itself is comfortable in that it doesnt matter where you sit, everyone is able to view the stage comfortably. Its always clean and they do provide refreshments. Wonderful place to go! Definitely recommend!

Always fabulous, fantastic and phenomenal! I need this in my life. I just cant say enough about the superb quality of character that goes into each actors work and the entire production. Love it!

We went to go see grease. This was our first time going there. Family friend of ours had a family member in the cast .was an amazing show will definitely going back for others. Very well run.

I had a fabulous time what I thought! Until it was intermission and I was told that my “singing along” was not ok... and it was awful and should be taken else where. I’ve never said someone’s voice was awful or needed help nor would I consider myself qualified it’s not ok! We’re singing along with a play that has songs aka GREASE. I’m here to have a fun time and enjoy fun times! I am sorry if I ruined your time with my voice and passion

Yet, another great show. They did a great job on Beauty and the Beast. Only complaint is the sound system need some work.

Saw Mama Mia - excellent & funny production. All aspects - singing, acting, sets, lighting - were well done, especially considering it is community theater.

Several friends and I saw Mamma Mia last week and we liked it very much. The actresses playing Sophie and Donna were great!

The theater is comfortable and attractive. The performance was excellent and so much fun.

Ive come here for a few plays over the years. The expansion and addition is nice. Im not sure if Ive been since. Ive had some friends, Parker and Alex star in a performance here.

Wonderful rendition of Beaty and the Beast!

I went to this playhouse and found it to not only be well built but beautiful. I had the honour of seeing Annie and was surprised at the detail of the stage and the professionalism of the child actors. For a few seconds when the stage curtain went up and the lights turned on to Annie I thought that I was watching a broadway play. Also make sure if you are a student to buy online ahead of time as these plays are packed.

Love the play--but should put on your advertisement that do not wear hats/high hair buns where it obscures for the people seating behind them to see the play--thank you

This is a wonderful little community theater. Gainesville is flush with talented people, and it shows in the productions put on here. We ought to do more to preserve and promote these gems in our community.

Gainesville Community Playhouse is a family friendly live theater. The actors and actresses are usually members of the local community who have a passion for theater. The building itself is well kept with clean facilities throughout.There is ample leg room between rows, comfortable chairs and not a bad seat in the house.Parking can be a little confusing because the theater shares parking with the neighboring shopping center, but that is off minimal concern.If you are looking for a venue to expose children to the live theater, I highly recommend Gainesville Community Playhouse.

Great musical, Gypsy. Highly recommended to while away a few hours. The acting is great and the voices wonderful!

If you like non-threatening musicals, and farce this is the local theatre for you. They dont take a ton of risks with their play selections, or the directorial decisions and choices. RENT is about as controversial as this playhouse is willing to get, and at this point RENT is so dated and vanilla that youre really not getting shocked or challenged by the themes.That being said, their shows are often very fun, with (mostly) excellent vocal talent and a very super stars.

The entire family loved the play MARY POPPINS (November 2015). The actors did a fantastic performance in both acting, singing and props. The entire cast was awesome as well as the staff. We will definitely be back to watch it again and continue to watch the talent of these young people as they strive for Broadway stardom.

Saw Mama Mia this evening. We loved every minute of it!

Very disappointing! Not family friendly. The content was very provocative and sexual. This is so different from prior experiences, where the plays were very family rated! I would expect this from the Hippodrome, but not Gainesville Community Playhouse! Then, I noticed that some of the actors are underage! 9th graders! Very inappropriate! Talent was great....content very disappointing!

Thanks to all of the hard work and passion of the Cast, Crew, and everyone involved in the production of Mary Poppins. We loved it, such dedication and love for the art of theater. I will defiantly come again. Excellent! Thank you Gainesville Community Play House.

Nice theater.

There is not a bad seat in the house. No matter where you sit, you can see and hear. Actors are always spot on, great variety of shows.

Preview nights are great the Thursday before opening night. Always friendly staf and volunteers.

I always enjoy what the community playhouse offers. Its an excellent date night idea as well.

( Turning Tables) I would like to think that I understand what it takes to write and perform for the public, so I thank those involved for their efforts. However, I actually fell asleep during the short first act; admittedly, I was tired, but the performances did not help matters. I thought the actors were good however, I left during Part II after the words Holy was used with a profanity word (which did not make the dialogue any more or less humorous); the show just was not that fun to me. In addition to my comments on the production, let me also add that this is the second time that I have left a performance at the Playhouse because of profanity - why use it, its not needed.
