The Secret Sidewalk is an old aqueduct that brought water from Sunol to Fremont and beyond, built by the Spring Valley water company. Inside the concrete box is a large pipe. It is defunct now. Some of the land is owned by the East Bay Regional Parks, but is not open to the public. Other parts are privately owned and you can be confronted as a trespasser. Its cool though.

Great place for a hike. Start by following the train tracks until you reach the tunnel, on the right side of the tunnel is a rope to help u get on top of the tunnel, than you walk along the concrete sidewalk until you reach the gates of hell as I like to say, you can go under the bridge as well which has nice graffiti..

Tips to have a good experience:Go from the train tracks until you reach the tunnel. DO NOT GO THROUGH THE TUNNEL. IF YOU GO THROUGH AND A TRAIN IS COMING, YOU COULD DIE. Use the rope on the right of the tunnel to climb up the the tunnel and get to the sidewalk. You will need to use a tree to boost up to it. Also, walking on the railroad tracks is technically illegal. Walk along the side of it, and if you hear the tracks emitting a eerie buzzing the train is coming, get off the tracks. Have fun.

This place has a great view but wayyyyy to sketchy. Filled with drugs and alcohol. Make sure to come here with at least 3-4 people because it is unsafe.

Honestly was a great hike with my and my friends, it is pretty secluded and sketchy so I would recommend bringing 3 or more friends. But besides the dangers this place is beautiful.

This was by far the best experience i got in Fremont. Like treasure hunt ?? Try this placeFind a tressel towards the right side of the tracks.Go few steps , you will a rope . Someone , thoughful had left the rope , catch the rope to get up. You will reach a point below a bridge.Graffiti all over the walls are trippy. Definitely a picture place.Alsk at the starting point, towards your left before you get onto the rail tracks, uou will listen to water flowing, get down and see a very senic small place with a small lake . Its beautiful.Be prepared to get little dusty if you want to get onto bridge. Get shoes with good grip. It will be helpful. My favorite place in Fremont. If you are in Fremont and like to explore , visit this place. Have fun and enjoy .Best time is evening . Have at least 2 hours before sunset . Sunset on the secretside walk will be good.

I definitely recommend a visit here. Go early in the day. You can walk in the sidewalk, if you can get up to it.
