Easy access point to Alameda Creek Trail with free parking, though the number of parking spots is only around a dozen. You can usually spot a fair number of birds near the site, as well.

Loved coming here as a kid to play in the canyon now I bring my kids here to play and enjoy the scenery

Not what it used to be. Folks break in behind the chain-link fence and dip in the water—leaving behind swim trunks, underwear, beer bottles... you name it. It’s so sad. I was really looking forward to a nice local trail with my husband and toddler. The further we walked down the trail, the nastier it got. More beer bottles, articles of clothing, luggage’s and at one point it smelled like human feces—that’s when we decided to go elsewhere.

Mostly Hispanic people there to play in the creek in large groups with no masks and dont pick up their trash afterwards. If people would take their trash with them and keep it clean it would be a nice place. Due to pandemic the portable restrooms and barbecues are gone and grass is dead with lots of pinata debris on the ground. Lots of beer bottles (corona and midelo)scattered along creek.

Went here for a family bike ride along the Alameda Creek trail. My kids are new to long bike rides and the bike path was paved well enough for them. Will definitely be back for longer bike rides.

Theres a lot of trash in the area that needs to be picked up and obnoxious people who climb the fence to swin in a restricted area. The parking lot is a bit small but other than that its ok.

I love this place. I think this is a great place to hang out. I see families there and people walking their animals through the park. I go there to grill sometimes and I really enjoy the peacefulness of it.

The view was pretty. Though Im not sure why or how its a staging area but its a nice view over the side of a concrete bridge looking onto a picturesque clean stream and body of water. Calming I was watching ducks swim along without the usual garbage I see in other streams. Niles canyon is very quiet so you can hear the water flowing peacefully along the riverbeds Rocky pebbles

This would be an ideal spot to start a hike or bike ride down the Alameda Creek, but the toilet is a disaster and there are signs of car break-ins. Park on the street above the parking area where your car is more visible. Better yet is to park at the Quarry Lakes lot a mile away.

Very nice trail start in a beautiful are with a park like area for larger groups. Plenty of parking near by. Drawbacks, not a true restroom, large porta potties, there is a water fountain but no real sink or place to wash hands, dishes, etc. Like any other parking lot, DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR. Since the parking lot is out of line of sight of the street and this is a calm and quiet neighborhood, its especially prone to car break-ins. To be fair, I have been visiting this staging area about three times a week for several years, never any issues, but my car is always empty.
