Small but well maintained parking lot. I thought the Trailhead closes at sunset based on the McDowell Mountain website, but this trail closes early at around 6:30. The guy who closes the Trailhead was nice enough to let me out since I didnt know about early closing times.

Tough hike, beautiful scenery, great bathrooms at the parking spot. Dont forget to bring cash, youve got to pay $2 (if I remember correctly) for the permit to enter the trail.

Nice parking area with restrooms,. Trail is too rocky for my liking as a mountain biker. Better as a hiking trail.

What a beautiful hike to the abandoned Dixie Mine. No way to get in anymore but you can still feel the spirit. We did in and out a 6 Mile hike. Beautiful landscape and moderate to walk.

The Dixie mine trailhead is about a half mile from the parking through a fancy neighborhood. And there is one area that is not clearly marked on the trail and easy to get off track.

Rich people blocking trailhead access on Christmas Day. Absurd elitists not wanting plebeians disturbing their empty neighborhood for 5 minutes. Apparently Fountain Hills is non-equal in trail access so I recommend city council and citizens advocate for more equality. Most places have an agreed easement year round. Also, the guards are always rude–the kind who like to show their power however minuscule it is.

Plenty of space; we got there at 6:30am

Nice trail system, the parking lot is ok sized,if your going to bring a huge group carpool. Youll have to walk/ride down the neighborhood road a bit following the signs for the trails. Would be easy going hiking with some climbing or some pretty easy going biking with a few technical secrions. This is definitely more of a cross country style track with some flowy downhill areas.

Top of Fountain Hills, gated with small parking lot. Must walk paved road a few blocks to Trailhead with pay station for hiking on Preserve trails that interconnect to many trails 3 preserve areas.

I remember when you could take your 4x4 all the way to the mine. Now its a gated housing development.
