A lovely, quiet area, not far from downtown, with a playground; swings, merry go round, and climbing apparatus. Water fountain, with a ground level Doggie fountain, and port o potties.Ive seen many photographers taking Fall family photos lately, and its easy to see why!The walking trails are narrow and beaten only by hikers/nature walkers, and not groomed or manicured, so wear appropriate attire. I took these photos from a great vantage point just last night.

Big park with well-defined trails. Lots of branches but most loop back so it’s difficult to get lost. Some steep hills. Lots of shade. Not many people on trails. They’re mostly at the beginning taking family photos

This is Fort Worths hidden gem! I cant tell enough people about it! The trails are challenging -- steep uphills and downhills with loose gravel, etc., so you feel like youre in a much more mountainous area than Fort Worth. Some portions even remind me of Appalachia! There are great views of downtown Fort Worth and the sunset, stream crossings, open prairies with tons of wildflowers in the spring, wooded areas with winding trails...this is my refuge when I need to get away and think and de-stress. The best part is you may THINK youre getting lost back there, but youre never too far from View Street, Meadowbrook Drive, I-30, or Oakland Blvd. Just keep walking and youre bound to find a way out! :) Especially if youre going uphill, thats usually the right direction towards an exit. I love just getting lost back there and seeing what part of the neighborhood I wind up coming out on. :)

Undulating hills and lovely flora make this a real treat for those looking for a quick nature fix. I deduct one star only because the hills offer little respite from the sights (and sounds) of the adjacent freeway.

Great place to walk a dog, take photos at, and enjoy the area. Lots of parking, but can be busy around sunset on nice days of people taking photos. Everyone is pretty considerate though and animals are normally leashed/picked up after.

This nature area is a hidden gem of Fort Worth! The nature trails give you an opportunity year round to get exercise AND see incredible seasonal plants, trees, flowers, birds, and animals in a natural open space.Sign up for the email newsletter and get monthly reports on improvements and changes, usually accomplished by volunteers. Volunteer opportunities are always ready for participants. The newsletter shows incredible seasonal photographs of the plants, flowers, trees, birds, insects, and trails. The photos are frame worthy! The city of Fort Worth and the natural area recently arranged for additional property to increase the total area, making it one of the larger natural areas within a city limits. Even more opportunities to preserve natural features of plants, grasses, open space, and beauty!!Take your family for a walk or go by yourself with your camera. You will come away with a sense of peace and satisfaction of seeing and participating with nature. Youll be glad this nature area is part of Fort Worth!

GREAT little trail. I’d rate this trail at about a moderate level for hikers. The terrain is quite rocky. There’s a big open field for sports and a playground for kids and kids at heart. There’s a lovely view of Fort Worth at the beginning of the trail - see pictures. I come here more often for the view and to take pictures.

I enjoyed walking through 2 trails. On my third trail my friend and I got lost in the woods and couldnt find our way out while following a trail. We had to listen to passing cars to navigate our way out and climb up a hill to the street. We walked a mile back to the car from the road. Covered in dirt and bugs. Id avoid going alone and stay away from the right hand trails.

Beautiful untouched area close to the city. This is rare. Easy to navigate, just as easy to get lost but thats part of the adventure. Encountered wild animal tracks as well as signs of street folks making this place their home. Just wish everyone practiced leave no trace will do my part and bring a trash bag to do a little beautification next hiking trip here.Did a evening hike to see the sun set and it was perfect. Felt safe the whole time and the moon provided more than enough light.

This unassuming little trail offers a surprisingly immersive escape from the suburban sprawl that surrounds it. Park on the street by the trail head, and walk past the little playground to get to the trail. From there you step into a remarkably well preserved little patch of natural Texas prairie. Climb up and down hills and wind through the scrubby little trees as you look at all the various flowers on display.Birdsong is only occasionally drowned out when the trail winds a little too close to I-30 but thats a small price to pay for such a nice wilderness escape.Put a water bottle and some beef jerky in backpack and spend an hour or two in the prairie, I promise youll be glad you did.

The nature area itself is absolutely amazing! Unfortunately the transients are a problem and will leave condoms and trash all over the childrens area. one will have to scan the area before using the childrens area. Lastly, they locals will chastise you for letting your kid pick 5 flowers! A lady in a large hat came charging out of the brush at us screaming dont let them pick all the Flowers! Theyre here for us all to enjoy! Im sorry, a 5 year old little girl is not going to strip mine the flowers or of your goofy little nature area. Other than the ghetto-ness its good way to see some wildlife and hike with the kids!

This is a huge natural area full of rolling hills and beautiful views of downtown. A network of crisscrossing trails leads through prairie grasses and pockets of trees. Its easy to spends hours walking around and exploring. About two hours before sunset the light is perfect for taking outdoor portraits in the tall grass. The freeway is nearby buts its easy to ignore unless youre hiking right next to it.

Winding trails that are good for trail running. It takes a bit to learn the trails but its not so big that you dont eventually find where you were before. I prefer to go with company, hearing small critters move about can work my over active imagination but Ive never actually seen or encountered any trouble. It was a bit difficult to actually find an official trail head; the park could be better labeled. Still, its a decent workout for those interested in trail running.

This park is really great because its just so big! The playground is pretty decent and the open grass field next to it is great for a family football or soccer game. The woodland area is also fun and full of things to see if you really take your time to observe. The terrain also changes from a sort of desert or savannah vibe to a forest or rain forest vibe as you head down the valley...just which their trail signs were better though

Amazing little nature surprise tucked into the middle of east Fort Worth! There are benches off the main trail and down the hill a ways with a view that almost makes you believe its 1830 or so. Nothing but natural, virgin hillsides and vegetation, with it the dirty barren ravages of greedy developers. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and could come here daily if it wasnt such a drive.

A mix between park and nature trail, this area is a gem in an otherwise unremarkable neighborhood. A very low traveled place in Fort Worth due to lack of expensive amenities that most people expect these days. I rather like that it is a low volume park as I like the serenity of nature and watching my kids play - you get plenty of that here.Update (4/18/15): Not sure whats gone on with this area lately, but homeless seem to be frequently using this park and vandalizing it. A shame as this was a great spot!
