I didn’t know what to expect when I signed up for the LTC class, but Wilson left me with a great amount of knowledge and perspective. He really makes you think about the big picture, very insightful, and a great instructor. Mr.Dixon, the founder also stopped by and presented us with more knowledge. They run a great operation, I can’t wait to come back for another class.P.S.Mr. Dixon please get Wilson some pop tarts or Tacos!

My husband and I really enjoyed the course. Wilson was very knowledgeable of the laws. He also gave practical examples of how the laws are interpreted which was extremely helpful. I would recommend this class to anyone looking into getting their LTC. I believe this company really cares about sharing their experience with their students and they stress safety at all times.

I have taken several classes with Wilson and Spencer- both weapon and non-weapon- and every time it is waaaay more than I expected. It is very hands on, informative but most of all it’s FUN!! I attended their Center Axis Relock training. Spence, Curtis, and Wilson were friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. They took us step-by-step through the process and found good ways to enable each student to learn the technique. When someone had trouble, on of the team peeled off to work with them, but the class continued ahead with the rest of the instructor team. A very enjoyable day! I highly recommend training with DST.

This is very simple words to something very complex. But Wilson is just the best instructor out there. He is so knowledgeable and teach in a way anyone could understand. They give the best knowledge about your firearm. They also take time to train you and help you focus on your aim sights. You will be feeling more comfortable behind every firearm. Well worth the class. Go to the trainings every Monday on the 1st of every month for extra training!

Recently took my LTC class through DST. I had a great experience and the staff was absolutely amazing. They were very personable and very knowledgeable, even shared first hand experiences with the class. They also offer tons of other training classes. I have been looking for a place to get more training for my license to carry. I found the perfect place it dst1911. I did not know what to expect when I signed up for the first class. But when I got there the guys were awesome. spencer, Wilson and Curtis have the knowledge, the passion and a drive to teach people on a level the makes you feel good about taking there class. I am going to pass there name around to all that I know to go do a class. they just make it fun and enjoyable to be there. if you ever have a chance try a class, you will be hooked .best thing i have ever done. As the head of security for a private security firm its been a constant struggle to find a quality training class that not only teaches the basics, but also puts you through true to life scenarios where you can draw, shoot, and move. Because more than likely the bad guy is not going to stand still and let you shoot him. By placing you under stressful conditions, DST1911 trains you for real world application of your firearms skills. All while doing so with an enjoyable atmosphere. I know it sounds counterproductive, but these guys nail it! Spence, Wilson, and Curtis are top-notch and have plenty of great, life saving gun knowledge for new shooters, all the way up to more advanced shooters like myself.I was a little apprehensive coming in as an avid shooter, eight year concealed carrier, USCCA certified instructor, and IDPA competitor, but I left feeling more than impressed with the level of professionalism and knowledge DST1911 had to offer. And in a way thats simple and effective for all skill levels. I look forward to getting my team to train with them and furthering my skills through them as well.

I had the privilege to get Curtis as my instructor for my ltc course. He was very knowledgeable, made me feel comfortable, and safe. On the range and in the classroom he gave very specific instructions. I would definitely recommend DST.

Our instructor, Wilson, was very knowledgeable and the course materials helped us to quickly understand all the laws in less than a day. Wilson was very thorough in his training and once the class portion was over we went straight to the range for the proficiency test which took about an hour. Just took my LTC class here. I usually dont leave reviews for places, but this was such a great time that I felt compelled to. Spencer Dixon was my LTC instructor and the guy made the class very informative, fun, and engaging. He made everyone feel comfortable and brought an energy to the course. He provided the state instruction and always connected it to scenario based application and supplemental videos. He was knowledgable and highlighted that having a gun and a LTC wasnt going to be able save our lives without using great judgment and sound frame of mind. It was also plus that I was able to shoot on the qualification test with my 5 shot revolver. He has definitely earned my trust and most of all, my business. I will be coming back to his place to take more classes, and shoot at the ranges. Please go check this place out.

Mine and my husband’s instructor is Wilson Machado Jr. He was very professional and polite. Gun safety is his TOP priority. Before we even went into the shooting range he sat us down and showed us how to load, and unload the guns and to always check the it yourself no matter who hands it to you. There could be an empty mag but still have a bullet in the chamber. When it came to testing out the guns he pointed out that for self defense in our home it needs to be a firearm both my husband and I are comfortable with holding, and shooting. The firearm had to be in a locked, safe environment unless you were cleaning it, or intending to use it. AFTER that we then rented different firearms and after we had our safety gear on we entered the shooting range. Wilson not only made us feel comfortable, but also that we were in safe, and professional hands. He showed us how to correctly hold and fire the firearm. He prepared us physically with our stances and what to expect with the recoil with each firearm we rented. I would recommend him highly to everyone that intends to use and own a firearm. Wilson knows his firearms and his laws like the back of his hand.

For the price and information, Spence Dixon is very knowledgeable on Texas penal codes, and gives you great information. I checked on other LTC classes and they were very expensive. Spence Dixon has been doing this for quite a few years as well. I came to Wilson as a first time shooter. The weekend before my CHL class I was taught to load and effectively shoot my weapon. That very next weekend i was ready and prepared to take my CHL test which I passed. Wilson is a great communicator, instructor, and is thorough in guiding you through the entire process. I was able to execute all instructions properly due to his teaching style of being hands on but taking a step back approach when needed. I look forward to continuing to work with Wilson to improve and grow in my training techniques. I highly recommend him for anyone that is just getting started.

Absolutely great training. Could not have chosen a better place to get a CHL.I did not believe it would be possible to express the severity and importance of truly understanding the laws while still entertaining while training, yet Spence was able to do so.I felt comfortable in the range as the instructors did a good job assisting less experienced shooters and made sure they were being safe while we were all shooting.

Was reffered to DST by a friend of mine to get my LTC. We had Instructor Wilson Machado and had a real good time. Class moved along fluidly and range time moved along rather well even considering we had a very large class. Will be going back for more training later on for sure!

Mr Dixon in Ft. Worth/Arlington not only has complete textbook knowledge of the material he presents, he has lived it. This man also has the ability to totally captivate his students’ interest in sometimes pretty dull material. I feel that he is 100% dedicated to the safety and protection of his countrymen without the desire for recognition or praise. I’m not a young man and have been around the block to a lot of rodeos. His lecture style and respectful interaction with his class are second to none in my experience. This man could be a top forensic psychologist or profiler. Went on google to find a license to carry instructor. Found one that had more review but they didnt offer classes during the weekdays (i work on the weekends) but then i found this instructor and it was great! im glad i gave them a try. I paid more to do the shooting lesson and it helped me a lot. highly recommend
