Friendly and very professional staff. It was my first time at this range today, and I got better guidance from the RSOs here than I have gotten taking advanced classes. Everyone from the first person I encountered walking in to the last person I spoke to as I was leaving was extremely helpful. There are a couple of ranges that are closer, but this experience is worth the drive. I will definitely be going back and most likely joining.

My first and second experiences were great at Defender! Let me start off by saying that the LTC signup and process was very smooth and very easy. (I am licensed to carry in other states and Defender’s process was my favorite by far)I recently became a member yesterday because I wanted to enjoy the benefits of online scheduling and bringing guests for free and also utilize the two free FFL transfers I get.My second experience at Defender was simply amazing. I started off in the rifle lane because I needed to zero in my new rifle. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what I was doing, so before trying to figure it out on my own I decided to ask the range master for some help and tips. This guy went above and beyond to help us. He taught us a few tips and tricks to save as much ammo as possible. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. We then went to the pistol lanes. Fired a few rounds with my handgun and the rifle as well. Such a blast. Literally.

I love this place so much. I have gone through my entire experience of owning a handgun here, from taking introductory pistol classes to purchasing a handgun to obtaining my LTC and ongoing training. The staff here are awesome and are extremely helpful, from helping you buy a firearm to helping you train. I am now purchasing another firearm from them and they were extremely helpful in that process as well. I cannot write enough good things about them, just a solid place. Thank you guys!

First time customer. Very friendly staff. Eager to help and answer questions. Safety Officer even helped zero my optics on my rifle. Overall a great experience. Well worth the drive.

Great facility, really nice range that is huge, and great instructors. I got my first month membership this month. Ive taken two instructional courses so far. I took AR-15 101 and Texas license to carry. Edwina Parker and Clint are fantastic and very professional. I have learned a ton and become much more efficient with both rifle and handgun thanks to them. I look forward to learning more!!

Really nice people but when we signed up to rent a lane they gave us a three hour estimate sent a text that we’re number 1 in line went back they said it would be another 2 hours and they would text never received a text like i said nice selection of guns and some nice people but i guess they forget real easy.

My husband and I just left defender outdoors interested in getting our LTC and doing our qualification testing. When we first walked in, we stopped at the front desk to ask - the associate Hannah was extremely rude and when we asked she literally just said “online”, when I asked another question she again responded “it’s online”. We walked into the store and looked online on the phone at available dates for maybe 2 min and then decided because she was not helpful we would leave - as we were walking out a gentleman Anthony stopped us and asked if we needed help, we told him our original reason for coming in and he was literally one of the best customer experiences we had ever had. He went way out of his way to give us a tour of the facility, we saw the instructor Edwina teaching and she seemed very sweet, patient and knowledgeable. He showed us the room clearing area that we mentioned wanting to sign up for and even went over ALL of the benefits of membership. WE WILL BE SIGNING UP FOR OUR MEMBERSHIP AS SOON AS WE GET HOME because of his great customer service. Thank you defender outdoors for hiring people like Anthony! We can’t wait to join.

A great learning experience for this gun newbie. Anthony was knowledgeable, patient, and friendly and went the extra mile to ask others the answer to questions I threw at him. I ended up buying a shotgun and the transaction and paperwork were handled efficiently. I also bought a membership and look forward to spending time at the range and training classes real soon. I highly recommend these folks.

I contacted Defender Outdoors looking for a specific make and model of handgun. Karen answered all our questions on the phone, she was extremely professional and fully customer service oriented. Once I arrived at the location the store was very impressive in appearance. Jun greeted me and helped me with all my questions and assisted in identifying and ordering exactly what I wanted. Jun was extremely knowledgeable and very customer oriented. I was thoroughly impressed with my experience and would highly recommend Defender Outdoors to others.

This place is awesome! Yesterday was my first time. I have been to other ranges in the area but nowhere competes. Every one was friendly, helpful, and the place was safe and clean. Recommend it over any other range in Fort Worth.

***REVISED***since writing this review Defender Ourdoors has reached out to me and has stepped up with outstanding customer service for my issue. Admitting a mistake is difficult but how the business handles the mistake speaks volumes. They not only identified the problem but also took action to ensure that it would not happen again. This shows integrity and responsibility to the customer. I am pleased with the response to my problem and can now vouch that the owner is a Stand-Up guy that cares about the customer.Original post: I Purchased a suppressor and used the SilencerShop Kiosk because i was told it was SO EASY. After 14 months of being told to Just wait, We will call you when its ready and then another few weeks of no response to phone calls or emails, I found out that my transfer was never processed and i get to start the clock at 15 months AFTER submitting all the paperwork, fingerprints and pictures.... Buyer BEWARE. When the staff tells you all done you better check for yourself. I had to call the ATF myself to find out that my transfer was never processed and Defender Outdoors is not taking any responsibility at the moment. This is bad business and an irresponsible way to handle something that is 100% out of the customers control.

Great place for target practice, firearms instruction, and shopping. Today, Adam and Jesse patiently, happily, and expertly helped me get my rifle sighted in. Fabulous experience.

Went in last week to sight my rifle in and boy was I suprised! The range was huge! The range master Joshua was so knowledgeable and experienced that I was able to get it all sighted in with 3 shots! I have a son that has autism, he sat down with Matt and was so patient with him it left me in awh! He had clearly had exerience with working with kids so he gave him a small lesson since we were all alone and made sure we were 100% happy with our experience before we left. Good job defender we will be back since we now have a membership.

This is a great facility!! I have used the range several times and never had a problem getting a lane, other than a small 10 minute wait. I decided to purchase a suppressor about 7 months ago and very recently found out that Defender Outdoors never sent the Form 4 off to the ATF. After realizing their mistake, the owner Will James, was very apologetic. He explained how he has completely overhauled the way suppressor paperwork and suppressors are tracked and that this wont happen to anyone again. Additionally, he said he couldnt get my time back from the ATF for the Form 4 but he would make it right. And he did!! Will James hit it out of the park by making it right!! Look, mistakes happen, I understand, but it is what the company does after realizing the mistake that sets them apart from others. Will James has earned a customer for life by standing behind his company and doing right by the customer!

Awesome staff. Walked out with more than I planned, but only because the staff was so knowledgeable and personable. Great experience. Live over an hour away, but will now continue to visit for all my gun and ammo purchases.

Purchased a Sousa R.A.I.D. from yall to mount on my Glock. When I went to install I found that not only was the battery missing, but the sight itself was damaged. This was suppose to be a new unit. They would not look at it. Barely gave me any service and told me its a manufacturing issue and I need to take it up with them. I will not be returning for future purchase if the company wont even stand behind merchandise they sale. Poor customer service.

Me and a friend came in around 4 on Saturday to rent a pistol and try it out in the pistol range. Was told that they were booked for the rest of the day and to come back earlier tomorrow. Came back today (Sunday) at 11:30 ready to go and was told there was a 2 and a half hour wait. Understandable I didn’t get there as early as I wanted to. They took my number and put me on the wait list. I showed back up about 2 hours and 45 minutes later. The same guy spoke to me and acted as if he never seen me before. Asked if he could help me. I told him I was on the wait list and came back 2 hours and 30 minutes as he instructed. Keep in mind they texted me which place in line I was and I was in first. He then told me there wouldn’t be any lanes available until around 4 and he would text me whenever my spot was available. Guess what he never sent a text. So I show up at 11:30 in the morning and got the run around until closing. Will never shop here again, was planning on getting a membership and purchasing a handgun but I will take my business somewhere else and I recommend you do too.

Went and tried out my new rifle and Adam and others were great at helping me site in my rifle.

Good rifle range for windless zeroing. Veterans happy hour discount is always a plus. Will be back to shoot more when they’re not doing temperature checks. Like any good gun owner believe in maximum freedom without violation of civil rights. It is what it is I guess.

Excellent option for sporting clays in a metro location. Two courses. One easy and one a bit tougher. Nice 5 stand too. Well maintained and well run. Reasonable prices and super friendly staff. Will return for sure.

Its nice to shoot here but even though i have Shot here once before but i went in to buy a gun... couldnt find a single person to help me. It was not even that crowded only like 2 people out of 12 were helping customers. Ill spend my hard earned money elsewhere

BEST GUN SHOP IN FORT WORTH HANDS DOWNMe and my wife are African Americans. Sometimes going places we dont get good customer service because of it. We have to wait a long time before someone acknowledge us and treat us like they want us to hurry up and leave.Not here though the staff is amazing and very welcoming and I cant thank yall enough for that. Yall very knowledgeable down to earth people. I just signed up for membership and brought my first rifle here

This was my first time to Defender - and I really liked it. The retail store is one of the better ones Ive seen at a range, for both quantity and selection. We shoot pistols , so we visited the 25 yard indoor pistol range. The range was a good clean indoor 25 yard range with electronic controls for the target hangers. One thing that impressed me was the number of Ranger Officers on duty. As I started unpacking my ammo and gear, the RO noticed I was shooting reloads. He asked to check my ammo, I presume to check for steel core / case which is prohibited. He was polite, quick, and methodical - gave me the thumbs up and that was that. I liked this spot. Id definitely shoot there again if we are in the area.

Great range. Looks to have good rental selection of firearms also.. The wash station right outside the range door is a plus also.. Only downside noted was they allow rifles in the same range as pistols so while trying to get my wife comfortable with her pistol the rifle shots kept her on edge.

Great store and great people. My wife and I dealt with several different employees in getting her what she wanted. You couldnt ask for a better team of people to take care of you!!

Lots of range time after the classroom, very likeable instructor. There were only 9 women, but I would have liked more instruction on the range. Ive also been waiting 10 days for a refund on another class but apparently only an instructor can do that...otherwise I would rated it higher. I will however go back to practice there.

Nice place love defenders 85 yard range.and the full autos are fun. It’s kinda a toss up for me Texas Gun Experience ranges only got to 50 but the full auto selection is Huge and you can shoot shotguns there and you can use your suppressors there too will you wait on stamp.plus you get the new range smell.

Traveled all the way from Alaska to visit our daughter at TCU. We had never shot any guns before and were looking to have some safe fun. Every employee we came across was very helpful. The two gentlemen at the check-in counter were extremely helpful in helping us choose different guns to try out and the range managers were very knowledgeable. First time at Defender and won’t be the last. Came to get some work done on an old rifle and sight in my AR. Adam was a great help on the rifle range and helped me quickly zero in. He made this visit very enjoyable with his expertise and pointers to improve my shooting. I will update my review once I get my rifle back from the gunsmith. But so far, this is a top notch facility and the people are great.

I was scheduled for conceal carry class and it start at 8am but the place don’t open until 11am. I called to try and get a refund and they never answered. I finally got through and talk to someone and she wrote my number down and never called back.. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM!!!

I took two hours of private lessons with Henry today and he was amazing! Within probably the first 10-20 minutes I could already tell that I was better than I usually am. I learned so much and Henry was super informative, friendly, and professional!

I took my 10 year old daughter to shoot her 17hmr today and I was trying to sight in my .223.... Gavin was our Rifle range boss and I found him to be incredibly helpful! Further more the shooting tips he gave my daughter were much appreciated and she did very well. Tyler was also very polite and friendly.... Very spacious gun range and retail store. Treated with respect from the check-in counter all the way to the RO’s. 84 yard indoor rifle range was unique (unheard of in North Texas). The only flaw is that the bench rests are not long enough to accommodate your elbow for rear support. I suppose laying prone would work if ok’d by the RO.

I purchased the ltc class for April 22, 2020; I showed up at 7:36am for class and the doors were locked. Business hours are the only thing posted; no posting for classes. I called them at 7:36am, 7:47am and no one answered. I called again at 8:12am; which was when someone finally answered the phone. I took off work for this class; Im so disappointed with my experience. I only tried this place because of the reviews. I feel horrible because I referred this place to two other people who purchased the same class.

Great place to shoot a few birds. Love the covered stands in the summer heat or brief rains days. The targets have always been a fun challenge and enjoyable.

British Tourists On Holiday!Absolutely loved this place. After getting a discount card from the staff for first use of the range and rental etc it came to about £40 for a pistol (Glock 19) with 50 rounds.The range safety officer Sam Moore was an absolute legend and allowed us a magazine each on a Carl Gustov m/45 when he learnt we where tourists. What an absolute gem. 100% worth a visit!!!

This is by far my favorite shooting range. It has everything you could possibly need; including the most important part, great employees! I had a terrible experience buying a gun on a gun trading site. The guys at defender outdoors went above and beyond helping me get a working gun. They helped with the FFL transfer and a whole bunch of other things I needed help with. Chad specifically, helped me figure out something that would have delayed me even more.Thanks guys, don’t mess around just go here if the distance makes sense.

Great place and great service. Had issues with my 1911 and Clinton (one of the ROs) noticed and offered to take a look. Just very impressed with the people that work here and the service they provide.

Place was awesome, However Being told targets are $1 asking for 4 and getting charged $10 is a little odd, also being charged for eye protection when I wear glasses and Not to mention when My receipt says a different price than what was charged to my card. Seems to be a thing with indoor ranges.

Tried to use these guys as my FFL. Huge mistake. Communication was terrible. Was having a rifle shipped from out of state and got the run around for days with emailing them and the store I purchased the firearm from. Was told on several occasions that my order would be processed and nothing would ever happen. Not sure if theyre just to busy to meet the demand or if their transfers department just doesnt care. Will never use them for transfers and will never purchase anything from them. Long story short. Go to a different dealer/FFL for your transfer needs.

From the moment we walked in every person spoke to us with a greeting and an offer to help. No matter where we went to look, someone would approach and offer assistance in a professional manner and leave us looking with an open invitation of bringing them back at any time by saying, my name is ******* let me know if you need anymore help After looking around the amazing store we checked in for full auto Friday......only 1 word can describe this experience.....amazing. For only $10.00 a magazine, you purchase how ever many tickets (exchanged for loaded mags on the range) you wish to shoot and are escorted to the range. The employee at the range is waiting for you to arrive like your VIP and greets you with a cabinet of full auto firearms. Pick what you want to start with and he walks you through the process. Ensures your safety with hands on, one on one focus.....we had the most fun shooting ever thanks to Defender and their employees! As we were leaving noticed they had a simulation firing range, they allowed us to go in and check it out and it was hands down amazing as well. Pictures are posted of both ranges.

This is by far the best gun store and shooting range ive ever been to! Sales people are amazing... selection and prices on firearms and ammo is outstanding and the range is bonkers! By far my favorite place to do all things related to firearms and shooting. And did I mention you dont have to wait in line to look at guns? They are all out on displays for you to check out at your leisure. Highly recommend!

We are starting to look for a gun and the employees who helped us were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The range is really nice and they offer lessons and CHL classes. They want to make sure you are aware of the dangers of operating a gun!

The female instructor who was giving the concealed handgun class was very very rude. She made rude comments after my daughter finished the shorting portion. She made her fire her pistol at 75 yards and then was very rude when she missed 4 shots at 75 yards with a little 380 pistol. I would never recommend this class to anyone as long as she is the instructor. I have no idea why it was a requirement to fire a pistol at 75 yards to begin with. She also said she was not supposed to be talking about politics but spent the majority of class time speaking politics. Not good conduct at all!!!

Had a great time tonight at defender outdoors, shot on the pistol and rifle range. RSO Adam was awesome and even shared that he was also a Marine. Definitely reccomend going here for a safe and awesome time.

Arrive at 9:45 AM and told there is a 1 hour wait even though there are only 2 people in the shooting bays. They text me when my lane is ready.I start the check in and they ask me if I have shot there before and I respond yes but it has been a while. He says has it been over a year and I say I dont know.Oh you will have to sign the waiver on the computer, I look over at the computer and there is a long line. Seems to me that they should have that information on their computer. Wasted 2 hours of my day. I have shot at many ranges in the DFW area and Defender is a nice range but be prepared, they are very elitist. I would strongly suggest you do not go to defender. There are too many ranges around that actually want your business. Oh, I was going to rent a Sig X Carry and if I liked it, I was going to buy one. Ill spend my $600 elswhere.

Very nice range the staff was very nice and friendly. Although there was one man a African American guy that made comments about me not looking old enough to buy ammo and he wasn’t even the one helping me. I returned the following day to because I still had a great time and the same man was rude to my brother in law and again he wasn’t even the one helping us. The wait was long the second time but it’s understandable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful but that one made us feel a little unwelcome.

The staff is friendly helpful and knowledgeable, they make you feel welcome safe place to be with the family. Ive purchased four firearms at this place, I definitely recommend Defenders to anyone looking for a really nice clean indoor range. The staff inside the shooting range are helpful and polite too.

I walked in on a busy Sunday afternoon. I saw the wait time was listed as 1hr and 15 min. I waited their for about 20 - 25 minutes. Not one did time did the wait time go down on the board. After watching multiple people leave the range. Then more people walked in and went straight to the range. Also not once did the reps at the range counter. Ask me if I wanted to purchase a range membership. The rep also refused to take a name down while waiting On the range to open up. This just shows how they treat their customers. They could have been blunt, and said “I’m sorry sir but there’s no way your getting on our range”. No matter how long I waited that day. Both of the range reps were avoiding me as well. The least you can do is train the reps to use a little more communication skills.

The range itself is actually a good looking range but Ive been here three times since theyve opened and have yet to say Ive had a good experience.You can get on the pistol range relatively easy but if you want to use the rifle range you might as well forget it unless you plan on waiting 30 minutes or an hour. And the last time I was here the rifle range video monitors didnt work not to mention their automated Target system what is very glitchy.I would love to utilize this location but this place is in a severe need for an online queuing system similar to Shoot Smart. I realize thats not perfect either but its better than dealing with the guy behind the counter with a backwards hat that looks like hes more worried about the football game on that weekend and he is about making sure that youre taken care of.If Im the only customer thats ever felt this way than just write me off as 3 unlucky experiences but if not it might be something to consider.

Came in town for a quick weekend visit with our daughter who is a student at TCU. Enjoyed the Cowtown clay course and ability to rent guns and get all needed supplies at one location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely come back!

Absolutely incredible experience, the staff is not only nice but extremely knowledgable. We didnt get everyones names (EVERYONE was incredible) but Sadona and Jesse were at least two we can name as incredibly helpful and knowledgable. The range officers help and show you vital tips. We brought our 11 and 17 year old and they loved it. Our 17 year old had a birthday today and one of the officers let him shoot a gun from 1965 to celebrate. Ive been to one other range in dfw and it was not even in the same league as this one. We will definitely be back.

Take your LTC class here. Instructor and range officers know what theyre doing so listen to them. I learned a lot and you can too. This place is probably one of the nicest gun range/store, clean and maintained.

My son was part of a group of US Naval Sea Cadet Corps cadets that were hosted for their marksmanship training. They enjoyed their training and use of the indoor range.
