We went here yesterday for my birthday. And we really enjoyed this range. The staff is excellent very friendly. And willing to help with any questions. We were greeted, as soon as we came into the shop. By a lady sitting at the front door. On the line Patrick, Aron and Cody was really cool dudes. They were fascinated by my desperado gun case. But maintained their professionalism in the process. We definitely will make this our home gun range. Until we meet again. Thanks for the southern hospitality.

Good place. Not the most customer friendly but you can figure out what to do & where to go eventually. Lots of ammo available when we went. The range itself is comfortable & safe.

They are now charging $100 for a pack of small pistol primers.That’s ridiculous. This is classic price gouging. If I want to get screwed I would go to cheaper than dirt. Now let’s see you talk your way out of this one. Go ahead we’re listening.

I have been here several times and anytime I go to look at the Firearms, not one guy will even ask if I need help. No one will show me a gun,but the second my boyfriend walks up, he is immediately asked if he wants to see something. The first time I thought it was maybe a bad day, but after the third time, I realized that these boys do not want to assist women. Additionally, when checking out to make a purchase, the female didnt say a word and was extremely rude, the guy that was with her told her to be nice to the customers and she said she didnt have to. This was back in September and I havent been back. I will not spend my money here. There are a lot of other shops and ranges in DFW area, that love to help me get a new gun and accessories. If you are a woman dont waste your time, money, or energy here. It just isnt worth it.

Facilities are perfect for sighting rifles. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The patrons were as well. I will most certainly be back!

One of my FAVORITE gun ranges (without diving into politics. This is for the people that vote with their money.)! Outdoor facility, friendly staff, maintained grounds, and a stocked store are what makes this place a win. I bought my Springfield from there and they were helpful throughout the entire experience. I will definitely consider purchasing a membership!

Fun, but dang y’all need to seriously hire more people it’s like going to a Walmart; you see all these cash registers, but only one guy selling guns, getting targets and gun rentals for everybody. You have a line of 15+ inside and then even more outside (COVID only allows X amount in) and one man/woman running it all. Hire more people and you’d get 5 if not 6 stars from me.

One of the best gun stores and ranges in the Metroplex. They have a great selection and even better prices. I would highly recommend spending some time out here. They have pistol and rifle bays, sporting clays, and a great assortment to fulfill all your hunting and shooting needs. If they dont have it, just ask! Chances are they can get it for you.

This is by far the best range Ive been to in TX. I didnt grow up around guns and its likely obvious that Im not 100% comfortable around people shooting off guns right next to me. That said, the range officers are so kind and calming, they always give me tips and pointers that make me feel better and shoot better. I highly recommend Alpine. Love that its outside and you dont feel trapped like you might at an indoor range.

Well equipped, well organized range with knowledgeable instructors and range officers plus a well stocked supply store in the heart of the ranges, plus plenty of free parking.

Great place. You can get all types of shooting done: skeet, rifle, pistol. All for a great price.They even have a challenge you can participate in for like $3 or $5 and win a T-shirt.

They are price gouging. Just this week they more than doubled their prices on primers from $40 to $100 per pack. Dont give them your money. They are preying on their customers.

Disappointing experience. I took my 10 year old daughter here to shoot for the first time with her new 22. I wasnt going to shoot just teach. I was l informed at the register that along with her fee I would also have to pay the full adult price if I wanted to enter with her. I didnt think it was right to charge me $30 to teach my daughter how to shoot. We instead went to an indoor range near by and I was able to pay for just her to shoot at a reasonable price.

My first time here, and definitely won’t be my last, amazing, and very respectful staff, and an amazing outdoor range.

Very appreciative of how the officer on duty took care of my family and I. It was my wife and daughters first time shooting and the officer on site, wish I could remember his name, very tall guy with drawstring hat on, was patient and more than willing to guide them through the entire course. My favorite shooting range. They have various ranges for weapons. Really like the rifle range and the clay shooting for shotguns. Pricey inside if youre buying anything, but the ranges are great and the staff is awesome

Purchased two firearm packages from them: the price was the best anywhere and I had been searching for months. They were fast, courteous, and I always dealt with a real person. Shipped fast and the items were in flawless condition. When I first saw their price I was scared I was getting scammed because it sounded too good to be true, but I was able to research and see they are a legit business... so I bought two. I’m incredibly glad I did. Their price got me to inquire, but their quick and friendly service really sealed the deal. They will be my first internet stop for future purchases. Last week, dont remember which day, I went to the range for some practice with my rifle only to find out that the range fees had gone up. Before, the range fee was approx. 13.00$ and now it is over 15.00$ even with my senior citizen discount. I have been coming to Alpine Shooting Range for several years now and will continue to do so. Im hoping that the fees dont continue to go up as I really enjoy coming here. Thanks for listening.

I want to this gun-range about 2 weeks ago and immediately noticed the friendliness of the staff. Their location was very clean, the staff was very knowledgeable and professional, and it was an overall welcoming environment. I also love the fact that the gun range is covered. So you dont have to worry about getting the beating from the sun when youre trying to aim at the target. I enjoyed my visit there so much, Im heading back there right now as Im writing this review

Great range with great prices!

Ive been going to this range for several years and it has changed as the business has grown. In regards to the experience you might have, its a mixed bag. The fact that you can pay a range fee and shoot all day both pistol and rifle is certainly a benefit, that being said, the customer service leaves something to be desired with about half of the staff. While many of the Range people are friendly and customer service oriented, the Personnel in the store give the impression that they are really to busy to help or answer any questions. As a rule the store is understaffed inside and many times theres a very long line, they should work to find a solution to that. You must have your card from prior trips or they will insist that you fill out the iPad waiver again and again, they should really find a way to enter your phone number (like most other businesses) so that youre not forced to go through this process each time, not everyone wants to carry an additional card for a place that they go to on a monthly or semi monthly basis. Overall this range has a lot to offer with both pistol and rifle ranges, steel targets and a clay shooting area. They offer many classes as well. I continue to go to the range due to many of those facts if they could just fix the people issue it would truly be a pleasure to go shoot at this range.

Youll not find a better price for sporting clays. And the traps are also good for practice. The rifle and pistol ranges are fun and there are some steel targets on the pistol range for Top Shots kind of stuff. This is definitely in the country so enjoy the rustic feel!

Nice range but the staff ruin the experience. The older range officer acts like a drill sergeant and talks down to customers for even the most minor of rule violations which by the way are posted no where. Also dont come here if you arent a redneck or a LEO or else you will be discriminated against.

This is one of the best outdoor shooting ranges in the DFW area. The prices for your range time are low cost. There is no time limit on the range so you can stay all day long. Sometimes I feel pressured at other ranges to hurry and shoot before my time is up. With no time constraint there is no pressure. The range officers don’t hover and bother you while at the range. They just keep things safe and make sure the rules are followed.They have an amazing assortment of firearms, ammo, and accessories to purchase. Skeet shooting is offered here and you can even shoot steel on the pistol range.Pistol and .22 ranges have distances of 3 yards to 30 yards. The rifle ranges are 50 yards and 100 yards.

I have never written a review before but I want to share my experience. I remember going to the range several years ago and watched a range master act very rude towards my father, a retired police officer of 35 years who did nothing wrong. The range master was rude and it really turned me off. I stopped going for a long time after this. I went back a few times since then and had several positive experiences until this week. Most range masters have been great but I am not sure if I will ever use the rifle or pistol range again. During my last trip, the range master was rude and very condescending towards everyone. I wanted my son and his friend to have a good time. We looked forward to going all week and his attitude towards customers ruined the trip. I spoke with several customers who said they will not return based on how this range master treated them. I am still undecided if I ever want to go back.

Only been once. Went with our son to experience Sporting Clay shooting. It was fantastic. They shuttle you around on a tractor/trailer rig from shooting point to point. Will throw a couple of clays at each spot for you to know what to expect. Low stress, lots of fun. Will do it again soon.

Good range, friendly, helpful staff. They have a variety of ranges, rifle, handgun and even skeet shooting. Spent a very fun few hours here, will definitely be back! Also learned they hold CCL classes every other weekend

I love shooting outdoors, Alpine has spent the last year improving every bay they have on both the rifle and pistol ranges. The 100 is going to be awesome with the new improvements. Try the steel range, its a challenge and a lot of fun. I really like their set up.

I recently ordered a pistol from them, the process was simple and easy. When I went in to get my gun, I was treated very nice. The saleman noticed I was using a cane and asked me if I needed to sit down. That was very nice. After filling out the paperwork, I inquired about buying some ammo. Instead of me having to limp oaround the store, he went and brought back several different brands. I purchased a box and I really did appreciate their courtesy. They have great prices and they treat you with kindness and courtesy I will buy there again.

This is my favorite outdoor range. Its a safe atmosphere without the a hole range officers breathing over your neck. The staff is always friendly. Its also rhe cheapest place ive found. Love the all day pass. And that they offer throw you own clays for a reasobable price.

Despite the poor word of mouth I gave them a chance, wish I’d listened and saved my money.This is your grand-dads gun range. If you are interested in more waiting than shooting then this place may be right up your alley. As for me, I finally gave up after 10 minutes of standing around while the range cadre made a personal phone call and socialized.Only two of us on the range, both standing behind their yellow line, weapons cleared and laying on the tables. Waiting for the cadre to acknowledge and give the okay to move down range and check/hang targets. Instead we got ignored, so I’ll be ignoring them when it comes to my business from now on.

I love alpine and their team. So knowledgeable and helpful. Seriously this is the only place I go for my firearms and supplies.

Very friendly and helpful staff. 100 and 50 yard lanes as well as 30 for rifle shooting so you have plenty of options. Lots of handgun lanes. For 15$ it is a fair price.

NO FMJ RIFLE AMMO ALLOWED.Be warned, this range does not allow any normal full metal jacket rifle ammunition at all. So if you are trying to come here to break in a new AR-15 with some cheap target loads or green tips, since 5.56 is pretty expensive, you will be denied. Only expensive ammo like JHP or soft insert rifle rounds are allowed at this range, which basically means its a Fudd range for old timers putting 10 rounds down range from the bench while sighting in their deer rifle. If youre into tactical shooting, 3-gun, carbines, etc and want an outdoor range to practice on, look elsewhere.

Without going into the details of what I have experienced with Alpine, I will say, I would and will be going back to Alpine for any gun related needs.There was a mix up in a purchase I was making but Garren made it right and went beyond what I expected it make it right. Thank you Garren.As far as the bad reviews about the range and range officers, I did not have a bad experience. I didnt get the range officers name that was watching the lanes I was shooting in, but he had a wealth of knowledge and was very humorous. He was very helpful when shooters had a question. He reminded me of school instructors Ive had in work related training. Very detailed and thorough to folks needing instruction.Just follow the rules and the range officers will be your best friend.

Ive always thought this was a five or four star place but its now its all at 5. Mainly due to all the new additions and upgrading that the owner has done. New and updated pistol ranges as well.Always treated with respect and when I am specifically in the store, Associates will always make sure to see if I need any help. The range officers on the range are great as well. They know me by name or at least recognize my brother and myself every time we go. Alpine is my go to range.

Ive only shot manual trap here so speaking specifically for that range, Ive enjoyed it tremendously. The rules are fair and prices are reasonable. The entire facility is well run and maintained given the amount of use it gets and the staff seem friendly enough. Bought a pistol here that was priced better than other local stores. All in all a good place to get practice. Only wish it wasnt so far away and had automated trap.

Alpine maybe the oldest ranges in the area but has recently undergone extensive renovations. Accommodations for shotgun, rifle and handguns at multiple distances. Helpful and courageous staff.Range masters on each firing range to ensure safety.The store is well equipped with ammo, accessories and firearms. An excellent facility for all shooters.

Really rude staff who care more about making stupid jokes than safety shouting at each other right over my shoulder when Im trying to shoot i thought the range was nice but the staff ruin the experience. wont be going back I would recommend anyone who is planning a trip to save your time and money. Shouting is not louder but it is usually an indication to stop shooting because they see something wrong unprofessional

Went to Alpine Shooting Range today for the first time. I have never been treated so well or had better customer service anywhere. I told the people behind the counter that I had no idea what I was doing and not only did they answer all the questions I had but they also gave me some great ideas for things I might enjoy. The prices were unbelievably low compared to the competition which is great because Im new to shooting and didnt want to spend an arm and a leg. When we left the office and went down to the skeet range to shoot our new shotgun the range marshal showed us how to set everything up and helped us get started. He also gave us a quick lesson on gun etiquette and a few pointers to get us started in the right direction. I will definitely be using Alpine from here on out and would recommend them to anyone. For the people who have posted that if you are not a redneck that they will treat you like you just flew in on a UFO, maybe you shouldnt treat them like they are dumb rednecks and Im sure they will be a little nicer to you. Im from the city and they treated me and my wife like royalty. So stop stereotyping people, show a little respect and Im sure you will be treated in the same manner. The people there will not demand your respect but they will surely refuse to be disrespected by you.. the same goes for just about every person and business in Texas. I hope you will all give Alpine a shot it was a great experience for me.

I love this place! All the ranges are excellent but my favorite is the sporting clays! There’s a ton of different stations and challenging shots! I highly recommend Alpine Shooting Range if you want a clean, family friendly atmosphere. All the staff are friendly and the gun shop is well stocked with knowledgeable associates.

I have been to this range multiple times with multiple different caliber rifles and handguns and have always received great help when needed. If needing help sighting in more than a few knowledgeable people there to give you a hand. They keep a clean range, helpful staff, great fees, and not to far from the house. Could not ask for much more. Will be back soon with another new rifle to sight in....See you soon.

Just wanted to let everyone know about the exceptional experience my son and I had yesterday at the Alpine Shooting Range. We met Sandra Watts at the Pro shop for an instructional session, and I was immediately impressed with her knowledge and ability to give instruction. I only needed a quick review of the range but my 14 year old had never been on a shooting range and had never fired anything larger than a 22cal. Sandras safety review was very good, and we were able to start shooting with confidence in short order. After moving from the 22/pistol range we met Ryan, Sandras husband, and we continued to take it up a notch on the rifle range. The range itself had everything we could possibly need, I really appreciate their consistent focus on safety. Sandra and Ryan gave us a truly exceptional experience,and we consider yesterday to be the first of many days we will spend at Alpine.

Awesome range. the staff is nice and very helpful. theyre very accommodating for beginners and have lessons available. I was hitting 1-2 groups before the end of my first lesson. I definitely recommend them! its worth the drive for me, I dont shoot anywhere else

Services Used:Provided one on one pistol training. Refresher training for me and primary training for my wife for home firearm safety. Arrangement was for 1 hour each on the private range.Prior to arriving, we emailed with Sandra Watts on what I was looking for and what she could offer. Making arrangements went smoothly with a minimum of back and forth.We arrived on time and the instructors, Sandra and Chelsea, where there to greet us. Being new to the range, they issued us active ear protection (even though we brought our own passive protection) and took us on a golf cart tour of the property explaining what is available and what safety rules we needed to follow.We finished the tour then went to the range where we received another safety briefing. Chelsea took my wife to one end of the range and introduced her to the .22 automatic that they provided. Sandra and I went to the opposite end of the range where she had me start using my .38 revolver. During the session, the instructors switched so we could get the benefit of another point of view. My wife did better than expected so about half way through, we switched her to the .38 and Sandra offered me her 9mm automatic to shoot for the remainder of the session.We found the instructors very accommodating and professional and able to inject in a bit of humor from time to time to make the experience very pleasant. We received close to an hour and a half of instruction each for no additional charge.After the session, Sandra accompanied us into the gun shop to recommend replacement ammunition.We are very satisfied with our training and the value we received for our money.

Participated in a charity sporting clay event, the area is beautiful, and the traps are at challenging angles. The only down side would be the shooting stands and their stability, we had several that rocked. Not looking for perfectly level, but I would be looking for them not to rock.I will go back again, had a great time. If you have needfor a charity venue, this is a warm and friendly place, and they host some great events.

Great range of target areas for all levels of skill. It was my first time shooting a specific weapon and the range officers were more than happy to adjust the iron sight, as well as show me how to reload and safely use the weapon. I plan to come back and shoot skeet.

Great place to sight in your rifles. Had a group of 1911 collectors meet up there. They were kind enough to give us our own section for the morning so that everyone could shoot together and visit. Banquet room was spacious and clean. Nice folks.

Been here 6 times in the last 6 years or so and each time has been a negative experience. As someone whose been a range safety officer before, this place is sketchy.1. Its a public range, youre going to have stupid people.2. Range officials tell you to be safe but dont tell you the rules of the range or how to be safe.3. No matter what, you will always be in the wrong and be lectured by the range officials, regardless of whatever you do. How do you expect people to follow your rules if you dont inform people of what your range safety rules are.4. They let you on the range by just paying required range fee, no range rules.5. Range officials will tell you stories of how, someone got shot 2 weeks ago in the leg because X... do you really want to advertise that people have been shot on this range because of stupidity on peoples part and the lack of safety proactivity by range safety officers?I give this place two stars because its the only public outdoor range with 100 yards, I actively avoid this place... And you should too, unless you want to be belittled, witness unsafe actions, little customer service or care. Its very apparent this place is about making a buck, not making sure youre safe or taken care of.
