Very interesting museum to visit with lots of memorabilia and exhibits you may have never seen before. A treasure trove of information. Also, the home of the final Flight 19 which has disappeared over the Bermuda Triangle during a routine training mission flight on December 5th, 1945.If you like history I would highly recommend a visit.

I love this place. A senior lady who used to work as a commercial pilot gave us a wonderful tour. They take such good care of the items in the museum. It really shows a community of pilots and people into Naval History. We had such a wonderful time in this small museum filled with rich history.

The Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Museum had been on my must see list for a long time and during a recent trip to Florida, my husband and I were finally able to go. We cannot say enough great things about the museum, volunteers, exhibits, and pure heart and dedication that was present during our visit. We wish that we lived closer because we would love to be frequent visitors and volunteers but we hope that everyone will make this an essential stop if you are in the Fort Lauderdale area! Thank you to the hard-working and dedicated staff who gave us an excellent walk-through tour, answered our questions, and even gave us something very special related to my husbands service that we will treasure forever. Keep up all your hard work and know that there are people out there (of all ages!) that appreciate what you do and will carry the torch of NEVER FORGETTING as the years go on!

Amazing place. Its kinda a hidden gem even tho it sits right next to I-95. I havent noticed the place in the last few years when I was driving by the airport on I-95 as I was always busy watching for planes. Inside you find a wonderful curated museum with an awesome volunteer staff. They are happy to tell you stories about the history of the Naval Air Station and the exhibits they have on site. Its so much fun. Come swing by and say hi. Its also comes with free admission and free parking.

Little museum packed with artifacts of history. Driven by volunteers, who are extremely nice and knowledgeable. Check out the last log of Flight 19 that was sent from that base and disappeared off Bermuda Triangle. Also a room full of memorabilia of George HW Bush who was stationed there once. Dont expect large airplanes, but this little gem will provide your family with interesting historical tidbits... Worth a detour!

As a volunteer and granddaughter of a veteran, there is no place Id rather be. I learned so much, and met such amazing people. Captain Sarah, Brendan, Debbie, John, Gary, Murray, and so many others have put their hearts and souls into this museum and it 100% shows. This is a piece of living history, and an amazing place to educate yourself and others about World War 2.

This is a really neat little museum. Its small building but packed full. The volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. We had a senior in high school named Dylano and a 7th grader (didnt get his name) that gave us our tour. They did a great job and I am so impressed with how they are choosing to use their volunteer hours. Worth the off the beaten path drive to find this hidden gem of history in such a busy, modern city.

Awesome!!! This place is the real deal. The building is original as are allof the artifacts on display. Our guide, Gary, was great. He had beena career pilot and he knew all about the history of the displays, where they came from and was very patient with us. He included personal stories of the aviators and their relatives who had visited the museum. I have lived in the area for over 30 years and was pleasantly surprised withthis little known gem.

Great museum. Genuine volunteers who are passionate, patriotic, and caring about the country and the history surrounding the war. There is no admission, however I would recommend that you support the museum with a donation or by patronizing some of the products in the museum gift shop. I did both. I would definitely come back and I encourage anyone who is looking for a museum that is rich in heritage, knowledge and culture to visit this museum. Our tour guide was great. There were no issues with this visit. Me and my family enjoyed it thoroughly. The tour could take 1&1/2-2 hours, so prepare time for that.

No where on their site does it say to call ahead for a tour! It gives the hours they are open and if you have parties of 5 or more there is a donation request. I took a bus of 11 veterans to their establishment only to find they are closed for the day for filming which it also does not say anything about on their site and they would not accommodate us. Very unprofessional and now left with a bus of unhappy residents.

An absolute gem of a museum, and overall experience. Being ex-Navy and in aviation, I am particular as to what museums have to offer and what I think is good. This place is the real deal. It was really great if you flew airplanes. I did enjoy it the guide was very in formative. But we were disappointed, because my husband was on a ship during the Vietnam War and he drove torpedo retriever boats. When he saw the torpedos outside he was very much looking foreword to go in. There was nothing for him there. Maybe they could put some information about ships. Just a thought

Became a volunteer for the museum a month ago and Im having one of the most exciting experiences of my life. Contributing my time and effort to maintain this museums historic footnote in American history is both fun as well as endearing. As a docent and (hopefully) historian in the future, I find teaching the populace at large a pivotal motion to give accurate info about WW2 on the frontlines and at home. Even further, from the Korean War to the present day. In turn, I hope to learn more from retired vets and other sources of credible significance about what I know and separate fact from fiction.Anyway, I recommend all ages with adult supervision for preteens and below.

Fascinating look into the naval air history of the region. Admission is free and it packed wall to wall with WWII artifacts and photographs, as well as an extensive library with books containing related subject matter. The museum is a non-profit with volunteers that either worked on the air base themselves or have very close connections to it. This place is a must-visit!

Weve been coming to Fort Lauderdale for years, but this was our first visit to the Naval Air Station Fort Lauderdale Museum. What a discovery! An historical treasure trove. With Gary Adams as our guide we learned so much about WWII aviation history, its actors, pilots, leaders. Photographs, artifacts, models, historical records of all kinds distinguish this too little known museum. In sum, a really thrilling experience. We also had the honor of meeting Edgar Buddy Galvin, a navigator, among other accomplishments, on B-24s based in England during WWII. His stories were as riveting as was kindness in answering our many quetions. A rare opportunity to meet someone whose first hand experience informed our understanding that period of our history. In short, we will return to this museum often. Highly recommended!

On The National Register of Historic Places. With the help of an all volunteer staff this museum has been instrumental in preserving the memory of Flight 19, one of the great aviation mysteries. Flight 19 flew out of NAS Fort Lauderdale on 5 December 1945, to vanish into the Bermuda Triangle. In addition, 19 year old future US President George H. W. Bush lived at this base as an Ensign, to train as a torpedo/bomber pilot. From October 1942 to October 1946 the base would train American and British pilots and thousands of aircrewmen from the US and other countries. In December 1999, the building was relocated to its permanent site at 4000 West Perimeter Rd., 2 blocks west from its original location.
