I walked into this museum not expecting to be impressed, but was I wrong. I was amazed that there was so much to see and learn. Things I never knew and things I thought I knew. The museum is arranged in a timeline structure from first recognizing there was a disease that was killing many people to the present day.They also have temporary exhibits that change, I think monthly so repeating visitors can be assured on seeing and learning something new or something you thought you knew already.Treat yourself to a surprise and visit

An amazing place that is a real community treasure

Glad to know that the World AIDS MUSEUM and Educational Center is located in South Florida. I had an opportunity to tour the museum and speak with their team and was impressed with their collection and amount of knowledge about the history of AIDS around the world.

Great place to learn and read real HIV/Aids History

The World AIDS Museum located at 1201 NE 26th Street, Suite 111, Wilton Manors, Florida is near completion and set to open. Fortunately I was able get a sneak preview of this one of a kind and the only museum in the world dedicated not only to the history and understanding of the AIDS epidemic, but with the clearly stated missions of increasing awareness, decreasing stigma, remembrance of those who have suffered, educating and enlightening the world to this continuing tragedy while empowering its survivors.The location within the self-governing community Wilton Manors couldnt be more fitting as it contains the highest per capita gay population in the world, which as everyone should know, was one of the first segments of the worlds population to be so decimated by AIDS prior to recognition of in fact that it was indeed a truly worldwide epidemic effecting everyone and every aspect of the worlds human population.The World Aids Museum is nicely organized, well arranged in a time line of historical displays and staffed by dedicated volunteers. Its small, but what it lacks in size is more than made up for by the inspiration, education and awareness it offers.Whether one realizes it or not, everyone in this world has been affected either directly or indirectly by the tragedy of the worldwide epidemic of AIDS. So, it might be a good idea to stop by and learn something more about it. After all, knowledge is power; silence and ignorance are death.

Doing great work for the cause.

Great place. Under supported. Deserves more support from people, government, legislators, City officials and the LGBT community as a whole. In need of a larger building to house all available exhibits. Any philanthropists out there looking to support a great cause please reach out to the museum!

The museum is very educational in and with the history and the advances we have made in H.I.V./AIDS research. Stop by for the history and education of a disease that has taken too many lives.

Tremendous resource for Fort Lauderdale. Provides great education in the high schools of Broward County. Timeline and history provide a backdrop for the epidemic.

A sad but important addition to the social fabric of South Florida. This disease changed history, made gay men band together. The progress of the LGBT Community in the late 20th century was catalyzed in large part by the social movements that arose due to the AIDS Crisis.

Great place doing great work

Not a large museum, but tons of interesting facts and unique items that really bring you into the reality of those affected. You will come face to face with many of the stories told through art and interactive pieces, and youll undoubtedly leave with a greater knowledge of AIDS, especially in South Florida.

So educational learned so much that I didnt know. Really a good place for someone to educated themselves and loved ones about the topic and history of it.

Amazing center of knowledge
