Very quaint and beautifully maintained historical home. Late 19th-century architecture and artist gallery can be enjoyed by strolling through the Bonnet house. Also enjoy a nature trail and an orchid house visit. If you are local, bring your guests for a quick change of pace but able stay close to the beach.

We had a recent visit to this house with my husband on August 26th 2020. It’s still in the range of pandemic season thought. We were the only visitors during that day. The attendants are the nicest people and very very knowledgeable about everything. They have observed a very good social distancing and face masked on at all times. The house is amazing! Will definitely recommend it.

Beautiful grounds but hard to reach anyone about ticket costs and got no information on which gate to enter. So had to have someone come let us in. The history of the family that founded the estate was moderately interesting but only few areas were open to view. Think in general good to see but wouldnt do repeat visit.

Really eccentric place. The tour is the way to go. The tour allows you to go inside the house and view a piece of Florida History. Truly shows off how nice old Florida plantation homes were. Few weird paintings but overall great experience. After going on the tour you can walk the grounds to see the nature. Really nice time.

What a fantastic place in an otherwise urbanized, modern city. Theres a Manatee in the canal, a Manatee! The house itself is fantastic but only as great as our Volunteer Guide, Don. What an amazing experience and what great insight he gave us. Would definitely recommend people stop by and visit just in case they cannot in the future if the trust decides to demolish the entire thing. Or get married, 3 times like they all did.

A quiet property built in plantation style in the east coast of Florida.Pay for the tour guided by a very nice man who as all the staff, will gently talk about the history of the building and its owners. Also take your time and explore the surrounding green area and the lakes. Feel the mahogany smell in the main house’s ceiling, and imagine the daily life a long time ago within its rooms. For a moment you’ll forget that the modern age is just outside those walls.PS: The guided tour can be cheaper... Maybe that way more people can come and visit Also, nice architecture and spots for photography

I enjoy visiting Bonnet House Museum & Gardens almost every Sunday. All collections are great.. I love them a lot, but you can enjoy american arts easily in Getty as well. What is so special about this place for me is american art! I was fascinated by it. First of all, the architect and its interior was so comforting, a great match with american art.

Just did the gardens tour as we were not interested in the house history. We took our time meandering through all the paths and trails. Saw a turtle on the path, saw a swan in the slough and nature watched. Breathtaking scenery and we even got to see the only two wild monkeys left in the park! So cool and very nice to just go for a nature walk. Highly recommend.

Arrived for a late evening event and was pleasantly surprised. Im going to say in advance that youd want to make a day trip to appreciate all thats there. There courtyard looks to to be a scenic and picturesque spot in the daytime, let alone the back porch which overlooks the pond. Pretty sure there were some swans swimming around. Then there were all of the installations throughout the interior. All of that means there got to be a return trip during the day to take in all that was simply a glimpse of at night.

The Bonnet House tour was great! The grounds are beautiful and the history of the artwork, structure and the family was interesting. We had an awesome tour guide and he shared a lot of information beyond the script. We live in Fort Lauderdale and go to Hugh Tyler Park a lot and we always forget to go across to the Bonnet House. It is definitely worth checking out and bringing out of town guests. I wish we saw one of the last two monkeys that live on the grounds. We saw some beautiful birds, iguanas and a swan. The gift shop also has really nice items. Nothing cheesy or touristy. I will shop there to get unique gifts for family and friends. Overall we had a great time!

Had the absolute pleasure of getting a tour of the stunning Bonnet House Museum and Gardens yesterday. My eyes could not be big enough trying to take in all the luxurious colors of the property.I arrived about 10-15 minutes early for the tour and waited with one of the many helpful volunteers. She took me around the go-cart, put us in the shade, and passed on little tid-bits of Bonnet House which I thought was super nice considering it felt like a one on one mini tour.10:30 A.M. hits and I am greeted by Linda Krijt who turned out to be the kindest and most knowledgeable tour guide! She guided us effortlessly through the courtyard, art studio, dining areas, and gardens and made sure to stop and ask peeps if they needed water (it was a solid 87 degrees here in Fort Lauderdale... felt like 187.) The whole shebang was about an hour-ish and I recommend coming in the morning since it can get very hot in the afternoon. I thought it a little unnecessary to show a video at the end because it basically recapped everything that we just learned in the tour, but it was nice to see more photos and videos of the people that once lived in this sprawling estate.Even after the tour was over, I explored and roamed the grounds for another hour soaking up all the property has to offer. I am so inspired by the history and culture here! I encourage everyone to give in to their curiosity and check out Bonnet House Museum and Gardens on Fort Lauderdale Beach.PS. This place is a photographers dream! Go!

Absolutely delightful experience!A genuine, perfectly preserved - as it really “was” - example of Old Florida, as lived by a well to do pioneer family. The grounds are expansive & awesome - a slice of turn of the (20th) Century Florida coastal lagoon environment. The Bonnet House & its compact support complex is truly a window into a bygone era.The building exteriors have interesting stories, although the tales of the individual rooms are the plums of the tour. The courtyard is beautiful! So much history that I realized halfway through the guided tour that it takes more than one visit to drink it all in.Our Docent, “Don”, was amazing - a virtual fountain of construction & human character history and anecdotes pertaining to each of the rooms and areas. All delivered with sparking humor!Great for kids and adults. The guided tour involves walking and standing for almost 2 hours, so wear comfy clothing & shoes. I’ve been living in Fort Lauderdale for over 12 years and have wanted to visit the Bonnet House as I’ve heard nice things about their garden. I finally went and was not impressed. You get the same experience walking in the public parks found in Broward. The guy who I purchased the ticket from was very rude. Not only with me, but with every customer he interacted with. I went to Bonnet House to have a relaxing day with friends and interacting with that man made our experience at Bonnet House less enjoyable. I recommend saving your money, time, and energy and don’t bother going to this place. It’s also not a hidden gem as people say it is.
