Even through under construction, fun place to go if youre passionate for swimming. Currently discounted admissions fees with construction, however, buying items in gift shop gives you free admission. Small building with a lot of history

Absolutely appalling. “Nice” elderly woman at gate. Just because she dyed her hair pink does not automatically make her cool. She was rude to me and the guest before me. It’s cold today; pool is empty, and so is the parking lot. Loosen the reigns lady. ( doesn’t mean not collecting appropriate fees) No one is going to fire you for being kind. Try it.

This is the place to go for any swimming fan or water polo swimmer. The visit is super affordable. Volunteers and human swimming encyclopedias and u may not even realize if you are wandering the halls at the same time an olympian is there too. My favorite was the trophies given to athletes as early as 1912. The view of the pools from the 2nd floor is awesome. Special place to visit for a family of swimmers.

I visited from Chicago and am training for an Ironman race and this was a fantastic gem of a pool. I couldnt believe that I could swim as long as I wanted in a beautiful 50 meter pool for $5. It surprisingly wasnt crowded at all either. I was able to have my own lane both times I visited.

This place is looking very worn down. Great facility but it needs a makeover. I saw they are closing in April 2019 for about 18 months and it should be awesome again when it reopens.

The best public pool I have ever swam in! The water is geothermally heated & cooled. The water is delicious! The lanes are wide & I love 50 meter pools! The staff is friendly & helpful! Its a gem next to the ocean!

Great place to swim outdoors. They have a 50M lap pool and in general isnt too busy. The best value is the 30 (individual) day pass, which you can use over the course of a whole year.

Review №30

It is well equipped but the whole place was built decades ago and has had zero renovations. The pools are falling apart, so are the locker rooms. In the locker rooms, the bathroom stall doors have had their locks removed and pieces of trim are falling off. The ceiling is full of holes. Half the toilets dont even work because the the flushing handles are broken. The water that comes out of the water fountains tastes terrible. The lockers are all rusted, some to the point where the bottom has collapsed. The floor tiles are cracked and broken in many places. Personal anecdote: I was there and one of the pools had so much chlorine it tasted like cement, and there were bits of chicken floating in the pool, including a drumstick, that were there the whole week I swam at that pool. At least the place has two large long course 50 m pools that can be converted to 25 yards side to side, along with a diving well with the ability to dive from any height from 1m to 10m.

Nothing wrong with it, per sey. Its small and I appreciate that its there, but as a non-swimmer, I found it un-interesting and my 12y/o swimmer only really liked the modern stuff. I mean, you have to pay to park, and pay to get it. It was a little overpriced, although I understand the funds go to help the place. Lastly, the staff were wonderful, they really were.

A great place to swim (exercise not leisure). There are two 50 yard pools and a dive tower and pool. The water is chilled to competition temperature. It also has a great atmosphere being on Fort Lauderdale beach.

Really cool experience seeing all the history of swimming related things. Overall a great array of swimming and related memorabilia. Only reason for taking a star off is that the location/building is a little jenky... could use a little facelift/renovation.

My niece and I really enjoyed visiting the Swimming Hall of fame during our visit. What we found really neat is that when we were there, there were several Olympic Swimmers and Divers training. They did not mind at all if we sat in the bleachers and watched them train. This gave us a great insight as to how very difficult the trainers are, and what they go through during training. We watched them use a trampoline with the divers hooked up to a cable system to practice some of the dive moves. The museum is VERY expensive for what you get to see, and the gift shop offers OUTRAGEOUS prices, but it is worth seeing one time.

Flashback to 1980. This place still has full size TVs featuring VHS tapes on past events. Old tarnished medals without any explanation tell a story of short sighted staff. The main feature of the whole place is an area in the back corner featuring a worn out head to lack of toes maniquin of the Hawaiian surfer Duke. It features him in his final days of life with gray hair and using a cane. The maniquin had fallen so many times the nose has been chipped off, missing a hand, the gray hair is unkept.I lived in Hawaii for 20 years and imiges of him in Waikiki feature him as a hot stud, a properly filled out man swimsuit and surrounded my beautiful females. Please update this crippled gross display
