Very pleasant place to spend the day either alone or with family. There are trails to walk on along with multiple play areas. I do not know if it is accessible to normal people, but there is a tennis court. Unfortunately there are restrooms, but the doors are locked. If your children need to use the restroom, you will have to find another place for them.

My family and I love Timrod Park! The scenery and atmosphere are lovely. The reason for losing a star is the bathroom is always locked! We stay for hours at a time, but once we leave to use the bathroom, that ends our family time at the park. Sure is a bummer...

Timrod park is clean as well beautiful nature walk. There is a place play tennis or kids can go on wings or slides! So surreal place to think!

My kids love it but the playground really needs an update and major overhaul. The slides are like cliffs, the wood on the playgrounds are warped and broken in some spots. Really needs to be cleaned too, there was trash and plastic under the gyms.

The girls had a awesome day. Park was nice and clean. Very shady which is a plus on those hot days.

Playground equipment needs wood replaced. Thats an easy upgrade. Ive never seen wood so worn.Otherwise a nice clean park in town. Bathroom was locked at 1130 am. Thats not appropriate when kids need a potty break.

It was a pretty good spot to rest on our road trip from VA to Disney. It had a decent playground for the kids but is a little run down and could be a bit cleaner. It does have restrooms close to said playground but like most restrooms at parks it was not the best with rusted seats and no soap. The little stream that runs through is nice and has a parallel trail with shade. Overall it was a good spot to let our kids run around and let some energy out.

I went to get some steps in. It was great as I observed many activities going on. The trees give great shade, theres sun for the sun lovers!

A nice place to take the kids and the family pets

On Thursday July 9, 2020, around 9:45am I took my 3 year old daughter to play at the play ground. We were only there for 30 minutes or less and in that time, someone busted the front passenger window in my car and stole my black purse with my wallet and other personal items inside. There were tons of people on the tennis courts where I parked and there were other people parked in the same parking lot, but unfortunately no one heard or saw anything. I know sometimes a thief will take what they want and then dump the bag so if anyone happens to come across my black purse or black wallet out there please contact me and let me know. If anyone reading this happens to know anything or maybe was there that morning and saw something that may be helpful please let me know! I really appreciate any help! I wouldnt recommend this park because I learned Thursday there are no cameras at all in the parking lot or anywhere on the property and from what the police told me this area is a hot spot for break ins and theft.

6 great pickleball courts, only place in town to play outdoors. Rest of the park is pretty meh...

The largest park in Florence with great shady strolling paths along a creek, a cute playground, tennis courts, an outdoor fitness area, and picnic shelters.

Enjoyed the nature walk and quiet areas just no bathroom open for out of town folks.

Took the golf cart over to the park to let our new puppy run, play and chase the tennis ball. Had a great time!

I love this place! Its perfect for playing Pokémon Go! It can get smelly when it rains. Theres seems to be a lot of stagnant water in places that make the atmosphere stinky. Overall a good outdoor place to walk and get some [usually] fresh air

Park was well maintained, played pickle ball on court, others were courteous. Very enjoyable, thank you to park employees and staff for maintaining .

Within 3 miles mcleod park has much more to offer except for the tennis courts, playground and walking trail.

Nice little playground for kids. Equipment needs some attention. One tree is growing so close to a slide it could scratch a kid pretty good.

The park itself is in a pretty location and the grounds are well maintained, but the playground equipment is a little dated and in need of some minor repairs. Overall thou my son loved it and we will be back.

This is an excellent public tennis facility. 11 hard courts all in a row is the only problem. Balls roll every where. Would be nice to have something blocking the balls from rolling from court 7 to court 17. Nice picnic area and play ground surrounding the courts.

Very Clean & Pleasant Environment!

This has been a park Ive known since I was a child. The scenery is nice and its a lovely spot for a small town. I deducted a star simply because its not uncommon to see a homeless person or two.

Lovely place to go and relax. There is a nice size play ground, walking areas with a scenic creek and bridge. There is even an old historic one room school house.

Spent time with my family and had fun just enjoying the build of the park. Wish it was a bit cleaner. Mostly clean but a few places need sprucing.

This review is based on one visit, on our way North we stopped here to have the kids run a little.Place gets 5 stars for the playground, and gets-5 stars for the horrible restrooms.

Nice place for kids and adults. Used play equipment for kids which was older but still good. Adult workout equipment perfect for body weight excercise.

Feels leafy green... I really dont have a better way to describe it. The park is more or less well kept. It was nice to stroll through, and when its not too hot out, we have fun on the play equiptment.

Please take the time to enjoy a nice park. It really has a lot to offer. Tennis courts, nature trail, cute bridges that make for great pictures, etc. Its a pretty neat place. Families seem to enjoy it, as well.

Very beautiful park.. Moved to Florence a little over a year ago. Flound this park love for grand kids to come but nice to sit on other side have a quiet lunch with husband & dog Sanford. Kids loved play ground, creek & ice cream truck came through.

A fantastic location for portraits and walking, Timrod Park has tennis courts and a few bridges over small streams. There is also a children playground with somewhat up-to-date equipment. The park is almost always buzzing with activity. One of the better parks in Florence.

Short walking loop. Lots of bridges. Plenty of sitting options from benches to a gazebo, picnic tables and a few large rocks. There was a large play area with equipment for the kids.

Really beautiful park. The have really nice tennis court. Two nice play grounds for the kids. Picnic areas for family and friend get together. Only one bathroom at far end which can really use some tlc they could really use another bathroom at other end of the park.

The park is relatively clean, has a nice sized nature trail and good sized playground. There are a few things to note; there are often homeless people who hang out at different spots who while respectful will sometimes ask for a cigerette or change, the playgrounds are getting a little old and some spots have started to fall apart, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY they sometimes lock the bathrooms. This can be a big deal for people with children going through potty training so as a heads up-- if theyre locked the piggly wiggly across the street has a public restroom.

Beautiful Park, But I Must Add That It Is In Need Of A Few Minor/Major Repairs. The Kids Playground, Needs To Be Maintained More Efficiently. Wood Chips Are Needed To Prevent Mud Patches Throughout The Grounds, Several Of The Wooden Platforms Attached To The Swings And Sliding Boards Are Rotted Out, Creating A Hazardous Enviroment For The Adolescents. I Most Likely Will Not Be Returning With My Grandson.

2 stars because a lot of the playground equipment is broken/ extremely dated. The whole nature trail is very big but i probably wouldnt come back here. The bathrooms were locked and i was overall unhappy

Nice family park, people were having Easter pictures taken, kids at the park, tennis training plus the park was clean. Always loved this park from the time I was a kid up until I had kids & still till this day.

Was here as a food vendor for the Sankofa festival. I sold out of food by 4:00pm and still had to stay until 8:00pm. Next year I will bring more Seafood.

There are many things that could be cleaned up around this large tree park and some sort of lighting really should be added all throughout the park especially back towards the closed down museum. Children live in close vicinity of this pitch black park area and lets just say that we all deserve a safer public environment after dark.

We, and the grandkids, always enjoy Timrod Park. The kids have fun on the playground. But my wife and I love just to walk around and explore the trails. The creek, Gully Branch, seems to be much better and cleaner. I know that the City has put a lot of work into cleaning this small waterway and Id say theyve done a good job! Thanks City!

This is a great place to visit with your kids. Thanks to the city of Florence and the community at large thus is one of the nicest parks in the area to bring your little ones to enjoy themselves. At one point in time I remember it being a drug infested area but thanks to the neighborhood watch groups and people speaking up and speaking out against the drug pushers its come to be a nice place to visit. I hope you enjoy your visit/experience as much as me and my family does.
