Very nice, primitive tent camping right on the waterfront. There are nice places to build a fire, and watch the sunset with the river right there. Also, for the RV peeps... they have 50amp electrical, water and sewage hookup. Well kept bath houses... and a ton of stuff to do in the Shoals area. I live in the Shoals and come here for a nice time outdoors:)

Gorgeous park and location! When camping with just a tent, you’re right on the water with a really great amount of space. The ground is great for pegs too. The campground attendant, Tim, was super friendly and helpful in every way. Price for a spot for one night was fair, but I do have to say that as nice as it is to have bathrooms, they were not nice and much better avoided.

This campground is located in our hometown of Florence AL and is a gem of a City Campground. It is a staple as far as local campers are concerned because of its serene setting while at the same time being so convenient to so many wonderful attractions. Only a mile or two from some wonderful local restaurants and retail as well as being convenient to the Cities of Sheffield, Tuscumbia and Muscle Shoals all of which are 5 miles or less. Its a beautiful setting along the Tennessee River (Picwick Lake). Boat launches, picnic pavilions, frisbee golf, fishing pier and a beach in the same park. wonderful place to watch sunsets and sunrises on the River

Great park! I like the little beach they have also. Seemed like a good place to have a get together or just chill out by the river. Also a fantastic place to hammock, trees everywhere. Wish they renovated Dittos in Huntsville to be something like this.

This park is an absolute masterpiece. I will write a list of what it has going for it.Well manicured trees that have the whole vertical line effect if you are taking pictures. An immaculate view of the river and the large cliffs, or bluffs, on the other side. Can you say Kodak moment?A place for RVs.Several shaded places with fire places in them for gatherings.A wooden pier for fishing.

Last week my son had a college bass tournament on Pickwick, so he wanted to carry a popup camper to McFarland and camp for the week. The park does not let you reserve a spot unless you are there with your camper. So you have to pull it there and hope that you get lucky that it is not full. He got lucky to get a spot. Sunday night(5/19/19) they had a shoot out near the boat launch. We go up there to get the camper on Friday as we are packing up a couple ask if we were leaving and wanted to put a tent up on our spot no problem with that except the park manger would not allow them to do that to reserve it for their friends. When leaving I see kids play tents holding RV lots so it depends who you are. Also on Memorial Week restrooms in the middle of the park closed for construction???? Florence you need someone to manger your park!!!!

The park itself is beautiful. The river view of the cliffs are outstanding. We have been here almost a week staying in the campground. We are in a full hookup, so I cant speak for the bath and laundry because we havent needed it but it looks outdated. Other than that its very nice.

The campground is located right on the river and is attached to a very nice city park. Theres also a boat launch and marina with restaurant within walking distance. The sites were level and all have a picnic table. Some sites have grills as well. You can choose a site by the river with no trees for shade or shaded sites that are a little farther from the river. Reasonable rates at just $25 a night as of 9/2016. I would highly recommend this place. Its quiet but yet still so close to downtown Florence and all the restaurants, bars and shopping.

We stayed in the campground here in this park and it was lovely. We have a 45 foot motor home and we could fit in several of the spots here. Its full hook up at all the sites (except tent sites) and its right on the Tennessee River for only $23 bucks a night. The park itself is nice but nothing special. It has a boat launch, disc golf and a driving range. No admission fee which is nice. Its quiet here which is nice for a campground. Its location is close to everything in the area. Wed definitely stay here again if in the area.

A pleasant space along the Tennessee River that stretches out from the marina. There are campgrounds, picnic tables and shelters, soccer fields, etc., and in the warm months frequently a festival or smaller group gatherings. The parks best feature, though, is the view it affords of the Tennessee River as you walk from one end to the other, gazing at limestone cliffs across a waterway where barges quietly push enormous containers down river.

I am rating this Campground a one in hopes that it gets the attention of those who can take action and make changes. This is a very nice campground on the river. The bathrooms are substandard!!!!! The pushbutton showers are slightly warm and cold with no rhyme or reason. The bathrooms are not ventilated so when it hits 90° it’s unbearable, the floors are disgusting, the shower curtains are ripped when they exist. As popular and busy as this campground is, generating a very decent income, there is no excuse for the lack of upgrade to this single bathroom that serves the entire campground. We appreciated the senior rate and the extremely friendly Campground receptionist as well as our nice campsite with water view. The visitor’s center is TOP RATE!

Very much a positive experience. From time to time the bathrooms were a little less than desired but still far better than most. I spent the autumn months here and the view over the water with early morning fog rolling across is breathtaking. Literally one morning I was FREEZING in my tent and opened up the door to run to the bathroom, saw the view and just stood there in awe, for a few moments I forgot how cold I was. Well worth the $12 a day.If I had to find a complaint, long term campers should receive a discount. $12 x 30 days x 3 months = $1080.Even with that said, still amazing.
