Beautiful beach park named by one of the Afro-American Life Insurance founders . It was a place of leisure for African-Americans in North Florida. There is a full restroom and outdoor showers next to the beach access point. Its a great place for cookouts, picnics, fishing, and family outings.

Great beach park that somehow keeps the crowds at Bay. Large (free) parking lot with both outdoor and indoor showers. A small pavilion with a few picnic tables rounds off this GREAT park.

This is one of the best spot on Amelia for beach access. They have showers and bathrooms/changing rooms as well. Very family friendly.

We love this beach. You are at the end where you can drive on the beach if you want or you can park and walk. The end of the driving area is here so if you don’t want your kids around traffic it’s a good place for them to play.

It was very clean the Cabana had a great view the showers were handy and the walk ramp to the beach was wide and easy to walk to the beach oh I forgot the parking is huge it is a 10

Great place to park , rinse off(they have shower stalls) and walking distance from the free public beach to kick back and have a few cold ones.

I have always enjoyed this place since childhood!! It has multiple wooden walkways that lead directly to the beach. They offer amenities so you can grill and have shade during the hot Florida days as well as restrooms and showers to wash your sandy feet before vehicle time. The beach itself is beautiful and very clean and you have the dazzling Ritz-Carlton to view on the right side...

Beautiful location, enjoyed that there arent many people there.

The bathrooms are dirty dirty and thick every day, the water is very cold and not hot water, poor service.

The only problem with my visit was parking. But I am starting to see this is an issue all over. Its a horrible situation that should be at revisited. Moving out of a parking lot at midnight to move a few meters on the street is ludicrous. Everything else was exceptionally wonderful.

The beach is very nice and the bathrooms, showers. My intention was to camp there and have a peaceful week. The day I arrived there were loud music coming from cars, which really didnt bother me. After all it is day time and people are enjoying themselves. The downside of this, at night cars are coming in several people got out of their cars shinning flashlights like their looking for something. They left and then another car comes in shine his flashlight, then left. Another one comes in shines his lights right at my car and just sit there. I got an eerie feeling and I left. Im thinking these people are taking drugs. Daytime is good. But dont camp there.

I just stumbled upon this place while driving around and it is lovely. Ended up spending a few hours here. The bathroom and shower close by and clean are nice. I will go back.

This is my all time FAVORITE Beach. I love the history in the area as well as the remote yet accessible feel of the park. The beaches are rarely crowded here and the park has a wonderfully maintained large bathrooms with showers. Theres also several grills for public use, bring your supplies and your family for a lovely beach day.

Unfortunately, this quiet beach is slowly becoming overdeveloped with monstrous houses, built by selfish people from God knows where, that now block the once wonderful views of the beach.

I love the history of American Beach, this place is home away from home. Showers and restroom access.

Beautiful beach with bathrooms, showers, picnic shelter, lots of free parking. Also close proximity to the biking trail along A1A, so good place to park for a bike ride down to the south point of the island.

We go here every weekend. This is a great place to take the family and spend the day.

Its beautiful and I just love the beach! location we were at was great for our one year old son to!

Very relaxing place to go if you catch it at the right moment. The only negative side to me is the fact that all the rich heritage if the place is being lost to development. Its a historical place so why not restore the history and beauty that was once celebrated by the many African Americans that flocked here generation after generation and built it into a thriving hot spot of the south.

This is American Beach on Amelia island. The restrooms have HOT showers open 24hrs. Its the beach access road by the Omni resort. Beautifull beach with great swimming, I have this bookmarked and go there everytime I VISIT Jacksonville. The neighborhood is upscale so feel confortable leaving the vehicle in the parking lot. Burney Park is a nice beach park, we will be installing parking lot lights and lights around the bathhouse for your convenience.

A great place to go with the family! The beach is fantastic, flat with a sandbar and tidal pool during low tide which is great for small children. Plenty of parking, and you are able to drive onto the beach in some parts which is very convenient. The park itself is very nice, and there is a cooling breeze which helps in the sun. Id definitely recommend this place to the whole family!

American Beach is a Historic landmark for black Americans. I come here because my heritage. Its a fun place to primative camp.

This is part of American Beach. Theres lots of history here if you take the time to read about it before you come.This part of the beach has picnic tables, restrooms and showers available. They have put in a mobility ramp for the handicapped which also makes it accessable for wheelchairs. Theres no fees here for parking or using the facilities.Great place for a beach day. Our last trip landed us some fairly large shark teeth too!

Great public access beach

I like this access. Well maintained park. Small town vibe. Someone usually has something good cookin out there on the weekend. The bathrooms and shower stalls are in decent shape and not too messy, as well.I almost hate to give it a good review... We like visiting when its not super crowded!
