Really neat place to visit. We were not able to go inside the lighthouse because there was not a tour available, however we were still able to walk the grounds and see the lighthouse from the outside. Make sure to look up the info for their tours prior to going. Really neat place.

A scavenger hunt find. Tucked away in a neighborhood. You have to go up a skinny driveway in-between two fortunate houses to have this as a view from their backyard. It was closed while we were there. They must be running limited hours due to the times we are in but even if you cant go inside it is a must see!

Beautiful and serene grounds and well kept. Hard to find; even for those of that live on the Island. Peaceful grounds to enjoy a picnic with the family.

This lighthouse is in great need of being spruced up so to speak. Its definitely in a residential area away from the coast and its grounds are only accessible for a few hours on Saturdays otherwise you cant get near the lighthouse. We did go on a Saturday when it was open and there was quite a crowd there in the little area to check it out. But honestly theres just not much to see, there are no keepers cottages or dwellings of any kind. Theres been no landscaping or planting of flowers or anything. The lighthouse looks like it could use fresh paint. A lot of it had yellow tape around it to keep people from going up to the door. There was an old shutter propped against the side of it. And miscellaneous other things going on. We took some pictures and moved on after about five minutes. I have been to most of the lighthouses down the east coast and this was pretty disappointing but its a lighthouse so thats a win!

It’s really silly that they don’t make this easier to take photos of. You literally have to stand between two peoples houses to take the photo. It would be nice if they made a place you could drive up to to take a photo without disturbing the residents in front of it.

I was bummed to find out that the lighthouse is only open 1 day a week and of course it wasnt the day that I was there. I found it nestled in a neighborhood behind a house. The gates were closed but I tried my best to get a picture of it. I was not able to get a stamp in my lighthouse passport either as the 2 places to do that were closed. Guess I will have to try another time.

Im a lover of lighthouses and give it 4 stars only because of accessibility. You cant drive up to it after hours. You encounter a locked gate in a residential area of Fernandina Beach. You also cant get a clear photo for the trees. The 4 pics I took were from behind the locked chain-link gate.

Very disappointing. You cant get close enough to get decent pictures of the lighthouse. Best picture was one I found on line and did a screenshot. It is only open one day a week for a few hours. Will not visit again.

All I can say is WOW!!! We were lucky enough to get all the way up to see it. It was locked, so you can’t walk inside anymore. The downfall is it’s only open for viewing Saturdays 10-2pm. So you have to plan your trip around this time if you want to see it. Great experience!

This island is beautiful, and is sure to capture the heart of anyone visiting while traveling, whether it be for business or on vacation. Its a true mix of locals and transplants, and there is a good chance that if you make it your destination, and come with an open mind and a humble heart, this little barrier island in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean near the Northeastern tip of Florida, will reveal a magic and beauty found nowhere else! I highly recommend Amelia Island as a destination for anyone who is looking for a place to visit.

Tried to see the lighthouse at 1:30 on a Saturday during open hours and there was no one there and every door was locked. At least 2 other cars came while we were there as well trying to see the lighthouse only to leave as well. very misleading. If you cannot go as iNSIDE during business hours that should be specified.
