Great nature trails, beautiful grounds, fun and educational sections throughout the park. Splash pad is closed for the season (Nov. 2, 2020). Could easily be a full day outing with the playground, educational center, lots of trails and picnic tables.

This is an amazing park. At first, my family started going for the splash pad, which is free and one of the better ones in the area. But then we started exploring the trails! We enjoy hiking and it is so awesome to have nature trails of this quality not far away. My kids enjoy the childrens area, too. Theres really something for everyone here.

The park itself is lovely. This is my second time going, in the last few years. We thought it would be a fun outing to bring my mom along with my husband and myself and walk the trails and go into the woods on All Hallows Eve at dusk. It made for a fun Halloween! My only issue is perhaps not so much with the park, but with Google direction. We had a bit of a time finding the entrance because the signage from the street is not super obvious especially if youre rushing and I dont know what to look for. Google Maps directions took us about a half a mile down from the actual entrance to the park, probably because its considered all apart of the same property. Thank goodness there was a gentleman in the parking lot where Google Maps had us turn in who was kind enough to let us know to get back on the road and drive back toward where we came from about a half mile, and thats how we found it. Hopefully we will be back!

I adore this park. Very expansive and it offers a bunch of different trails from the interactive nature trail for kids to serene walking trails. It’s a very scenic area and offers a number of activity areas (e.g. archery, volleyball area, playground, etc.). Note, so you’re unable to bring your furry friends, as no pets are allowed at this park.

I have been here a few times, since lockdown, and I absolutely love this particular park. There are various routes throughout it, including some nature walks that I do not think you are supposed to go down. The playground area is great, with an open field close. Not too far from the fields is an amphitheater. If you go down the other road from the playground area, there is a nature center, along with some nature areas. The paths can be walked half a mile to one and a half miles, including through the forest. My best friend also loves this park.

07/29/20 - A family favorite park for all ages. There are three major sections of the park, with parking entrances for each. The staff keep the park very clean & photo perfect.First and most popular area are the walking trails. The trails are a bit of a maze the further back you get. The maps have likely been changed in the past 20 years, but they used to have spots like the board walk for the swampy section near the west-most area. There are geo-caches all throughout the park, so theres a significant chance you may see people randomly off the trails.Second, the Splash Pad, Jungle Gym & Volleyball courts. They are in perfect shape since built +5 years ago. The sand is soft & theres plenty of shade. There are a few stand-up charcoal pits for outdoor, out-of-the home grilling.Third, the park hall hosts events from one-day fire pit lights to weekly camps for scouts and non-members alike. Events range from archery practice to arts & crafts.Kids should bring their own toys to share: nerf balls, board games & water guns are all perfect to spend time.

Nice little park. They have some good trails for walking. It’s peaceful and it’s not that huge so doesn’t attract that much crowd. They have 2 volleyball courts and splash pond. There are a lot of barbecue grills available.1 suggestion for the authorities- they should post trail maps in the park. It’s a bit confusing to track the trails and there are quite a lot of trails.

Beautiful park with large open areas and walking trails that meander through woods, meadow and marsh. We also enjoyed the nature center and historical Spicer House. We regularly use the walking trails, and always see deer that we can get close to since they are not skittish. Keep your eyes open, and youll always see interesting things.

This is our favorite park in Michigan! It has everything you can ask for in a city park. There are several trails that you can hike where you can spot all kinds of animals from deer, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, goose, ducks, and we even spotted a turkey one time! They also have a cool little educational trail/path that I think they use for the summer camps but its nice to walk through and explore. On the other side of the trails is a street hockey field and playground. Theres also a splash pad that looks very enjoyable for the younger kids!!!

Its a nice place but the old man that works there ruins our family fun almost every time we go there. He yelled at my kid for picking up a stick while hiking on a trail and yelled at my wife for laying on a blanket with my son eating lunch. Told her she better not leave any trash and to not stay there all day. Just rude and he is always yelling at other people too not just us. Very disrespectful to women and children. We like the place but unfortunately we have go to other places so we can enjoy ourselves.

Hated it. Trees blocking the sun and sucking up all the CO2. Miles of crooked trails, twisting, turning, and looping through the woods. We even came upon a doe and her fawn, standing in the middle of a trail like they owned the place. So much nature all around. Everyone should avoid this place. (I want it all to myself.)

Its good for some light running or a stroll. I think its just not big enoguh for cycling. It would be great if they could pave the road all the way to the splash pad.The main shelter is first come first serve so you can not really think of doing a planned event there. There are two more shelters that can be booked but they are really small and secluded. The south shelter does not have any bathrooms or children play area nearby.
