Awesome place to take a walk or have a picnic. Beautiful gardens, well maintained. The cleanest and nicest bathroom Ive seen at any park ever. There are trails connecting this park to several other farmers branch attractions. The kids had a blast and we will definitely be back.

Three stars for two reasons. One, there is never anybody here for further information when you go. Two, finish out the open space in the property with more exhibits. Otherwise, the exhibits and buildings are meticulously restored and maintained. The city does an excellent job of keeping these historical buildings in great condition. Thank you for saving the history of locsl FB.

This is a fun area to wander around and to be able to get a glimpse into the past. Among the buildings to be seen are a church, a school house, a garage, a general store, a mud house, and a caboose. Many of the buildings reminded me of things I had seen on Little House on the Prairie. While we were there, people were setting up for a music and movie in the park night.

This is my sanctuary, the best job and most amazing down to earth people working with me. This weekend was our Halloween celebration and these guys built the haunted hedge just for this one day celebration. The care and specificity of this park true to time in history and all this for people to visit. A town of historical buildings and history lessons up close and personal. Farmers Branch City in a park is my favorite place in the metroplex and the amazing flowers, birds, landscaping, roses, rawhide Creek, the trails immaculate. Everything perfect like the forest nestled in the city.

This place reminds me of the historical sites on the east coast, which usually cost money to see, and often you have less to explore openly (though I suspect most of these exhibits can normally be seen through the windows which are hard to see without long-exposure images such as ones I uploaded and plan to add to my background image collection.) A lot is available to explore and this is the perfect place to showcase history; and I have no idea why I waited so long to check it out despite knowing about it for some time now. The General Store also reminds me of photos I came across when researching one my family would have owned from around the same time period (though just before the end of the 19th century) and it was great to photograph it, and even the buntings look like period pieces; in fact it reminded me of a video game called Bioshock Infinite which was turn of the century based, and used a lot of patriotic symbolism. Dont hesitate, it has something for everyone, and I plan to find out when events are taking place.Update: While attending a Star Party, just before dark, I snapped some photos with my cell phone (I forgot to bring my D-SLT camera.) Ill admit that I can capture images with my cell phone that I cant get with my D-SLT (DSLR variant.) I cant really say its better but it does tend to make it easier (most great photos are achieved using a tripod, and due to lens design you can get much easier compositions, but it becomes less contrasty and has lower depth of field, hence a shallower focal plane.) — at Farmers Branch Historical Park.Update: baseball

I took my kids to the Silly Snakes event. They loved it. I did feel that the snake presentation was designed for an older age group. Thankfully they took a break in the middle to let the restless kids touch some of the snakes. Some of the classic toys werent great for toddlers, but my kids loved the pop up dollhouse. Im glad the restrooms remained open after the event was over. We ate a picnic lunch there, so stayed after 12pm.

What a nice facility/park that creates a feeling of being in the country right smack in the middle of the DFW Metroplex. Attended the 10th annual Bloomin Bluegrass festival (second time) and enjoyed every minute. The festival is well organized, laid back and full of kind people and great music. Top notch national acts at a very reasonable cost of $10 day, well worth that and more. Check out the 2020 event. See you there l!

Went and saw fireworks here on July 3rd and I have to say I was quite impressed. Everything was set up like a small town County Fair. It felt like a fun and safe environment for the whole family. The Farmers Branch police department was out in force but very friendly same for all the city volunteers working to ensure cleanliness. All in all I had a great time definitely looking forward to next years event

I arranged a tour of the historic buildings for my Girl Scout Troop and despite the heat we had a WONDERFUL time! Kim Chapman helped with the arrangements and Victoria was our super-informative guide. Ive been to the Farmers Branch Historical Park a dozen times or more over the years for various events and have never seen the inside of the log cabins or the caboose until today - very cool place with fabulously friendly & accommodating staff!
