My husband and I had the most special wedding ceremony and dinner at Forgotten Barrel Winery and I cannot speak higher praises. The venue is a little hidden gem located in the heart of Escondido. Although the location is within a neighborhood, once you arrive to the venue, you soon find yourself lost within wine country. Amy Bolego (Director of Operations) made our planning process effortless from day one. Her follow up and timely email communication was more than I could have anticipated - I had to remind her it wasnt necessary to respond back to me so quickly, but it was SO appreciated. She went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day was as magical as it could be in the crazy times we are in. She kept us up to date as regulations changed with COVID and put us at ease. While we had to make some modifications and werent able to utilize the indoor dinner/reception space (which is GORGEOUS) due to the state mandates, we were still able to use the amazing ceremony and modified dinner area - it all turned out AMAZING. Its not easy planning a wedding during COVID but Amy did all she could to make sure our day came together perfectly. She even offered to jump in and handle our dinner service which was not at all expected. I should also mention the wine is very delightful. We had the chance to taste majority of the different reds and wine and they did not disappoint. We look forward to going back to the venue, sip on wine and relive our special day. Thank you Forgotten Barrel! We truly appreciate the hospitality. More photos to be added as they come in.

Due to everything going on and our wedding being scheduled here in August we aren’t able to have it because our family can’t make it. Amy was excellent at talking through options and listening to our needs. I can’t wait to come and have excellent wine here in the future!!!

I never would have dreamed of finding such a wonderful winery in this residential location... but Im so happy I did! I absolutely love that Rodger and Mitzi (the owners) have done so much to honor the incredible history of this place, yet still make it feel updated and current. The staff is wonderful, especially Kaylen, who is so knowledgeable and really makes you feel at home when you walk through the door. The great wine, combined with the beautiful (rustic, yet classy) atmosphere and occasional live music, makes it the perfect place to relax and unwind at the end of the day or enjoy a picnic with friends on the weekend. I highly recommend Forgotten Barrel! Just go!!

Tasty wines priced fairly and made by a masterly vintner. Paris is one of those winemakers who lives the art of wine and knows how to share it with the masses and the masters at the same time. This is THE place to visit in San Diego if you appreciate tasting great wine direct from the source. Great for groups too!

Forgotten Barrel is a gem in the Carmel Valley/Torrey Hills area. My husband and I have been here many times and have always had an exceptional experience. All of the wines are thoughtfully crafted to be unique, flavorful, smooth, and absolutely outstanding. You can often find Gabriella pouring behind the bar; shes super sweet and knowledgeable. Paris, the winemaker, is also in the tasting room more often than not. We really appreciate being able to chat with the winemaker, as that has not often been our experience at other wineries! The tasting room itself is also a hip, fun place to spend an afternoon. We are so happy to have this fun little spot in our neighborhood.

Wonderful up and coming Escondido winery with knowledgeable staff. Although the current owner is not new to wine making (Napa), I love that they give a nod throughout the property to former wine maker family, Ferrara. Wines are very good and property is lovely and still evolving.

Favorite place in San Diego, CA! I love the dog-friendly patio (and so does my dog), and I could pretty much live off the smoked salmon on toast and the kale salad. I could live off the bottomless mimosas too, but you know, my liver.
