Overall it’s a fun and not too difficult place to hike or mountain bike. The first bit of the trail is paved and near the freeway, but after a while it changes to a dirt path and the sound of cars goes away. There are several different trails to go on, depending on how far you’d like to go. There are tables and benches along some parts of the trail, making it easy to take a break or have a picnic. There trail was also kept fairly clean.

Its about a 5 mile round trip but well worth it for the spectacular views of Lake Hodges and the surrounding areas. If the air is clear, you can also see the ocean. Flowers in the spring. No shade anywhere so in the summer plan accordingly.

Its a great hike... lots of up hill spots some level areas and finally the rock peak. Its a good 8 mi round trip from the san diquieto trail head by the Adobe house.

This is just a moderate trail. Bring a hat because there is no shade through out the hike. The trail is dirt and rocks be cautious that you might fall down.

A great morning or early evening walks. Dont be afraid to say good morning to fellow hikers or bike riders. If you are stressed out from work and need a couple hours with nature. This is the trail for you.

Nice hike. Roundtrip distance from Rancho Bernardo community park to the summit is about 7.4 mi. Net elevation gain is a touch less than 1000 ft. Great view of the surrounding at the summit.

This was good just hot a great trail! Im sure its more enjoyable in cooler times. Great scenery, wild life is pretty much everywhere. A lot of great spots at the bottom for shade not so much the rest of the trail. Your pretty much in the sun once you actually reach the trailhead for Bernardo mountain. A lot of foot traffic and Mt bikers, great place for Mt biking to, havent taken my bike here yet but I will soon. Other trails to take to painted rocks, Sikes farm, mule hill and a few others. There are private trails becareful where you trek off to they are marked. Parking is free there is a Porta potty there. If the lot is full you can park on the street on the opposite side of the lot. Great trail for cardio, running, hiking Mt biking or just kicking around. Bring plenty of water sun screen and snacks maybe if your going to be out for a while. Get out there and gain some ground.

Route that allows access to the public for the Bernardo Mountain Peak Trail. This trail follows a public easement, so hikers and mountain bikes are welcome. Follow and obey signs to reach the main trail that goes up to the top of Bernardo Mountain. Beautiful hike thats short but enough elevation to get a good workout. Nice views of Lake Hodges.

Did it on a mtb and it was a greeling clime up . The kind that makes you want to turn back but the ride down was bliss. great views. Honestly would not reccomend for hikers but bikes will have a good time with the little rock gardens and stuff
