Ellensburg has a very strong regard for Dog ownership. What was once just a few baseball diamonds with open fields around and some dirt parking lots is now a full fledged park. Lots o trails , a two-sized off- leash dog park complete with watering fountains on each side for dogs and humans alike and double gated entry,so your dog wont slip away. There is a sani-can next to the dog park.Theres also a childrens playground, which is within the park but about a block away which Is also where the official toilets are located , much nearer to the enclosed sports arenas that have bleachers. The best part is the trail that leads to the access underpass that goes beneath the I-90 freeway, over to the Irene Rhinehart/ Carrie Lake- Park. This is a lovely, densly wooded park, which also has yet another!-(on the far side) lake-front, off-leash- dog park, several picnic areas, beach access, volleyball netpoles, and a 3 mile total circular path around said lake, that can also be accessed from the parking lot just where Umptaneum Rd. Crosses the Yakima river. The Yakima River runs alongside the south side of this park, in addition to the figure eight shaped lake.

Fun park with multiple attractions. Large fenced dog park, multiple ball diamonds, soccer fields with goals, bike track with variety of features, two separate playground sites, seasonal restrooms (closed for winter), dirt path to Irene Rinehart park for another dog park, lakes, volleyball courts and 9 hole disc golf coarse. Plenty of parking also.

The dog park was the only place we could find a working drinking fountain, on a super hot day. Our dogs appreciated the refreshment. Thanks to the trail map and a friendly local, we learned about the walking trails through town. This is obviously THE place to be for baseball players and fans, several games at once. Also, a nice bike obstacle course, looked like a fun time. The whole park could definitely do with more shade!!!

Very enjoyable bike trails, sadly fall made the trip less scenic but still beautiful.

Beautiful new dog parks. One for small and timid dogs, the other for the usual suspects.Shade and braces provided for the handlers.

The playground here has no shade, but is otherwise fine. Review is solely on the playground situation. As a parent of a small child with fair skin, Id like to know if playgrounds/parks have shade. Rest of the park looked fine. Not much shade overall.

This is a great Park especially if you want to go for a walk you can walk all the way down under the bridge to peoples pond. The dogs love it for running works good for bicycling for exercise.

I try and walk to this park as much as possible. Great scenery and even better dog park. I usually pass through to walk the river and back, but the view is always magnificent and you feel welcome there.

Bless. We were traveling with a nervous dog. She panted from Bainbridge Island all the way to Ellensburg. I thought to google a dog park and she was able to take a breath. Run a little and calm down enough for a drink of water. WTG Rotarians!

Coach youth soccer here and am super impressed with the quality of the fields!! Not only that but they have an awesome dog park adjacent and a mini play park for younger kiddos!

My dogs favorite place to run free. Granted I dont follow the rules, and I let them run free in the fields. The dog run area is a hot mess! If they actually cared for the dog run area, then perhaps it would be more appealing. The dust in the summer, mud in the fall / spring, and its full of bad dog owners that cant even be bothered to pick up their own dog poo...enough rant. The cross country trails provide excellent area for dogs to run away from people - and it is rare to inconvenience anyone else that is not also a dog owner.

I’m having a hard time here as my dogs love the park but people continuously put their tiny/timid dogs on the rough and tough side. My dogs don’t have issues with bigger dogs but anytime a little breed comes in they want to play, but the little guy doesn’t want to, there is a fight. This always leads to people thinking my dogs aggressive when she really isn’t. Please just be aware of your dogs personality and place your dog in the appropriate section. I would hate to keep my dog away from the park.

They kicked us out because we had dogs and our dogs are service dogs and they were leashed. We have been bringing our dogs there for years with no problems and the presidents wife kicked us out.

Well maintained areas. Enclosed areas for both small and large dogs.

Recently added dog park is really great. Visible on the right as you drive into the park. Two separate sections-- left side is for small/shy dogs or dogs that dont mix well with other animals. Right side is for all dogs to run and play. Waste bags are provided by the city in four dispensers, and there is running water for dogs, except in winter when they turn it off so the pipes wont freeze.

Beautifully maintained facility/fields but if you are allowing games to be played there, open the restrooms. The kids need to be able to go, not to mention parents and grandparents.

The defining park of Ellensburg, has a sports multiplex, plenty of walking paths, a biking area, and a dog park.

Nice local convenient park with good soccer and baseball facilities. There are restrooms, a dog park, and a bicycle obstacle course.

A lot of pokestops and a good place to take a walk have a picnic and socialize.

Trail that leads to Rinehart lake, which has another trail that has yakima river on the side. Pretty cool. Park itself is ok too, kids like going there.

Very disappointed in our 2nd experience at the dog park today due to very poor pet owners with very agressive dogs who did not control their pets attacking mine upon entering the park. Disgusted by the woman with the long dark jacket with brown hair who was kicking and hitting her white pitbull with the pink collar (You know who you are the one who laughed when her dog attacked mine) you should be ashamed and not own a pet. This display of blatant disregard for others and their pets who follow rules and whose pets are sweet, well behaved and controlled next time i will not be so controlled in my response to you or your pet attacking mine. This attack has caused a fear issue with our pet now. Thanks you rude and ignorant pet owners. As a tax payer in Kittatas county i can assure next time Ill contact animal control and police.
