Very pretty if isolated place in Elgin. If youve never gone, experience it! The ducks walked right up to us. The river is calming.

Busy and a little dirty but the small mouth bass and catfish are plentiful.

We went to Waltons Island a couple weeks ago when we saw a Sat. morning music meet up. It was a fun excursion, the island was really nice - I remember it from back in the 80s when there were MANY homeless people living on the island. It is greatly improved in 30+ years - minimal garbage, yes there were some homeless people in one section/ they kept to themselves. The ones we saw close enough to speak to us were friendly, nobody asked for money or a handout. This was a fun place to take a walk and after the music meet up, we took a nice stroll to Als Creamery and had a delicious lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed returning to the island after so many years and seeing the city has made an effort to improve it. Its all good.

Such a beautiful place to take a walk and dip your feet. There is a gazebo you can rent for events and its a fun place for photography. Added bonus, if you play Pokemon Go, Walton Island is covered in PokeStops and fun Pokemon. Makes for a good time!

It is a good place to go fishing, to relax on a bench and watch nature. I find it very interesting that there is a little island in the middle of the river.There are two additions that could be added, 1) bathrooms and 2) picnic tables. The bathrooms would be a nice touch as you cant always depend on the local businesses. The picnic tables would allow you to sit back and have a little lunch while enjoying a nice breeze off of the water.

Very peaceful

This place can be hit or miss. Sometimes I am left alone, sometimes not. Once there was a droid that hovered 20 feet above me for 5 minutes. If not for privacy intrusions- I would rate it a 5. It has great view of Hemmens, Gail Borden Library, and the Chicago Tower. You are surrounded by the river, a couple of pedestrian bridges, lots of native plants and waterfowl. Lots of great photo ops here . There are stone, wood and metal benches, ample grass and steps to sit or spread a blanket on. Lots fish here. It is nice because people let me play maracas and do yoga here without fuss.

A lovely little park in the middle of the Fox River with a nice trail near the park itself. Many beautiful plants on the island, nice places to fish, a great view of the Kimball Street boiling point in the north. In the middle of the island is a little pond in of itself.

Great island park in the middle of the Fox River. There are two pedestrian bridges that run from the Fox River Trail to the island. Walton Island is beautifully landscaped with native plants, there is a gazebo, a large flag sculpture, a small pond and lots of fishing opportunities.

Bums make this thier home to drink and do drugs. Elgin does nothing about it. Dangerous and dirty. Stay away!

This is a wonderful island park in the Fox River in downtown Elgin. Great views. Perfect for little kids to explore, for a romantic stroll, lunch break, even fishing.
