My wife and I really enjoyed this short walk through South County park. We were very pleasantly surprised to find a huge quantity and variety of mushrooms. The trail also has markers naming a few of the shrubs and trees I think we were lucky to see all the fungus and I suspect many of them will soon be gone. We walked this trail on October 8 for your reference.
Outdoor feeling while still being in the city. Not a lot of parking but paths are nice and not too many people, good place for jogging or walking. I only explored one side. Lots of up and downs. Plenty of side trails to get distracted without getting lost. Neat place overall
Beautiful lush green park in the middle of the city. A dense rainforest area that offers some quiet and is right next to vehicular traffic. You can see the roads from here, but still, the park offers a good shield and good relaxation. Easy concentric trails, great for families / kids. Recommended.
Nice for long walks or short hikes. Parking is problematic. Recommend staying on trails near road. Watch for spider nests.
You can lose yourself (speaking figuratively) in this park. Great place to get your mind off work and the best thing is that its just a few blocks away from my house.
Nice short loops on the top part and longer tracks on the south part across from the parking area, favorite forest in the area to hike.
The trails are great at Southwest County Park if you want to get away from the suburban atmosphere.
At first glance the park looks small so you need to explore especially below Olympic View Drive which is across the street. There is a wonderful trail my dogs love that dips down towards the Sound which from time to time you can see during winter. On several visits I have seen a large Owl. Then if you have the energy cross back over the road and follow the inside and outside loop trail for a good walk.
Great service and had everything I needed.
A lovely space that is easy to access and fun to hike.
Amazing, well kept park. Thanks, Doug.
Can be very muddy. There isnt much parking but there are usually spots available. Pulling in/out of parking can be a little challenging.Mild inclines/declines, fairly flat, but a good opportunity to get some distance. Can get muddy with rain. Nice green space.
Really nice for walks and just to get some workout and fun for kids
Great place to get in a nice walk surrounded by the forest!
Small, short trails. Dont bring your dogs here unless you want ticks. Mine are on preventatives and still picked up multiple ticks.
A little smelly and not the best scenery but a nice walk.
Pleasant, natural and undeveloped park in the middle of neighborhoods.
Very pleasant walk on nicely maintained trails.
Great place to explore and have fun.
Its a nice place for a walk on a sunny (or not so sunny) day. It has several trails running through the park; some of them loop around, while others meander through the park. However, there can be fallen trees on some of the trails at times. They arent difficult to climb over through. Happy trails!
Good trails
A little muddy so watch your step.
Great trails to walk your dog on.
A very delightful experience and Nancy was extremley knowledgeable and made our buying experience quick and easy. She came out and did a measure and had pricing for us that made it simple
There are a couple of short loop trails on the parking area side. The trails on the other side arent as easy to figure out because they dont show up on google maps at this point. They do get you decently off the road however, and there arent too many hills if thats a consideration for you.
Love the maintained trails
I love this place, and being geographicly challenged, I can walk in circles here, and get a lot exercise in a pretty small area.
Loved the park. Kid and pet friendly. U have to bag the dog business home no garbage can.
The Southwest County Park is a real gem in an unexpected place. The trails are great if you want to get away from the suburban atmosphere. If you take the steep trails down to the stream and explore it is surprising how big the park really is. Most people never see most of it. Great place to walk or mountain bike. Dog friendly as well.
Wonderful trail loop in the middle of a town, feels like you are out in the forest without being far from home. Outer loop is 0.7 miles. No doggy poop bags or trash cans available. Must leash dogs, bring doggy poop bags and carry them out with you. No restrooms but it is close to quaint shops and cafes.
Its okay, if youre living nearby its fine. But not worth driving to it.
Love it here, a nice little still through the woods
My first time visiting this park was today (February 20th). I didnt have much time to explore, so I only saw a fraction of the trails here, but I enjoyed my brief walk through this area. The trails were nice, not overgrown, and not terribly muddy. I also enjoy finding parks that are still green in the winter, and this is one of them. I look forward to returning in the spring when flowers are blooming and leafy plants have sprouted again.
Close to home, and lots of space to explore
A quick, forest enclosed trail
Quiet and peaceful walk with the dog!
Best southwest county park ever!
Nice wooded short hike in Edmonds, remember people pick up after your dogs please. Thanks!
Have been walking, running, hiking and playing in these woods since I was a teenager!!
Great place for outdoor walks
Beautiful
Great trails for mtb, running & hiking. About 4 miles of single track north of Olympic View Road and wider, graveled trails south of Olympic. Lots of wild life - woodpeckers, owls, deer, coyotes, mountain beavers.
A great place to go for a walk in the woods. Peaceful, fun, and relaxing. A hidden gem in suburbia
Good food
Its beautiful.
Ive camped here, gone to the rope swing in the western corner of the park thats disappeared and reappeared over the years, hiked through many of its hidden trails, discovered a dozen old growth stumps still with notches from the turn of the 20th century during the logging boom, followed perrinville creek from its southern to northern terminus of the park. This place is HUGE and has a lot to offer. As a note, the park is better on the north side of Olympic View Dr.
Amazing Nature!!
Nice trails in a wooded area. LOVE me some nature walks!
Awesome nature hike in the city
The southern trails, where the trail head marker are nice to walk. If you cross the street to the north and walk a half mile west there is a trail that takes you down into the gulch. Not well maintained smooth trails Those are more rough terrain. Starting at the trail head and walking west and then down and back you can stretch the walk to about two miles.
Great park! The big culverts were awesome.
Easy walk for my son and I
Great park !
Outstanding trails.
Good network of trails on the top half and along Olympic View Drive. Lower down is less traveled and no way out except back up to Olympic View Drive.
Very small. 0.5 & 0.7 loop. Muddy this time of year. Ok for a quick walk.
Great hiking trails, just wish they were expanded out into the rest of the park. There are two loops you can do an inner and outer loop and lots of little trails connecting the two.
Wish there were more trails!
Its a great park to walk around.
Great for short hikes
Nice park
A wonderful park I only wish there were more trails to access the rest of the park.
How do i know im on a tugboat on the water
Beautiful place to take a walk.
Great easy local trail :)
Beautiful
Nice park with nice trails for walking.
Nice trail in the middle of neighborhood.
Nice place to walk your dog.
I cannot find the water fall or the beach view. Very limited trails. They only follow the main road.
Great
Good trail no services
Cool rope course and swing
Beautiful
I fell in a hole
