I recently moved to North Carolina & A friend of mine took me there. Its a great place to unwind, explore, or jog. Really beautiful & lively during the day, you will come across wildlife, from insects to birds, to even snakes, so be careful if you do decide to take a mini detour from the trails. However, I enjoyed every second, I hope that you will too!!

It was so much more than I expected. Is it possible to have a life affirming experience inside a lemur first? I can now attest to the fact that it’s not only possible, it’s quite likely if you have any interest in these wonderful creatures. Private group tours are completely worth the donation amount!

The Duke Forest is an excellent location for a leisurely walk or an exhaustive long distance run. The trails are well maintained and natural. This makes your runs much easier on the knees. There are rolling hills thatll challenge you but will train you well at the same time. There are many sections to the Duke Forest so please ensure to try them all!

Our visit to the Duke University Lemur Center was beyond what we expected. We started off watching a well-done video in the visitor center and gift shop. Then our tour guide took us throughout the lemur center, and she did a fabulous job us with the centers background, lemur and species facts, and answering any questions. This is a fabulous field trip for the lemur-lover in your family!

Kept nice-ish! Just wish there were trash/poop cans at gate entrances due to people tossing dog poop bags in woods or leaving poop on trails. At least theyd have somewhere to put the poop (hopefully) instead of trying to find a way to ditch, or hide it.

The Duke Lemur Center is a one of a kind experience in the United States. Its not a zoo but a research and education center focused solely on prosimians (a type of primate). During a tour you visit a number of Lemur species held at the center, but the highlight is the walking with lemurs tour where you go into one of the forest enclosures where lemurs roam. We went here five years ago (2014) and again this year (2019) and the experience was still amazing, highly recommended!

Trails are in great condition. Even with all the rain we have been receiving, the drainage is excellent. We were on trail 11/12, which is just about 3 miles out and back. Hills are challenging but not bad. We met less than a dozen other people on the trail. Cant wait to try other sections of trail.

What a great local resource. Beautiful trails, trees, creeks, and wildlife. The numerous access points on NC 751 provide ample opportunity for forest bathing and wildlife observations. Deer, rabbit, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and fish abound and it is so close to downtown. In addition to the trees (forest, right) the are also wildflowers, lichens, moss, and fungi. Duke has also included numerous educational opportunities. If you like the outdoors, you will be pleased!

Beautiful spot, I felt so familiar and so home taking it was amazing I really love how North Carolina has been taken care of by the government the all the feeling of Forest nature a lot of different things compared to other states other cities. I’ve traveled all around I’m originally from Colombia South America and I know how much it is to appreciate me trying to have a lot of nature and greens and flowers all around. I’ve also been to a lot of state where there’s barely any of that so I’m very thankful for all those things I’m very thankful for the forest and for how they’ve been taken care of at this park is really really amazing. I would definitely recommend to other people now only for it to beauty in for how it is but also I really appreciate the service of the people have been in love with the people of the state a lot compared to other statesIt is really unique. I really appreciate you guises attention I’m very thankful with the people that were picking up the trash to there were some people that are very nice. I’m not necessarily a guy that talks much but I really appreciate all your help. Thank you very much for all the people to maintain the park thank you very much for keeping that viewing and never losing the originality of what the statuses. God bless you guys and keep on growing and keep on striving as a country

Open pine forest, not too many trails, most are dead end and some are restricted for research since this is part of Duke University. Its good to come here if you enjoy a short walk up to 3mi. Its quiet and the trails are mostly gravel/crushed rock. There are multiple small gravel parking strips along the hwy.

Duke Forest is NOT an apartment. It is land managed by Duke that has a lot of awesome trails where you can get out into nature and learn about some of the native plant species. There is one section that is very well labeled with information about the trees on that path. This place is a great escape from town while still being in town!

Ja

Duke Forest is an often overlooked local treasure. Basically a 7000 acre forest preserve open to the public. There are multiple trails, picnic areas, horseback trails, and parking access scattered throughout. None are very clearly marked so purchase a map from Duke if you plan to do extensive hiking. This is a working forest so occasionally you will run into an area where there is a science experiment or forestry activity going on.

The woodsy feel has been very attractive and has given it a homey feeling for me. These have the charm of older buildings, but are well maintained. It may be seen that originally it was built to be rather classy. The ability to walk out my door and do a 2 and a quarter mile loop through a forrest has been of value to my life - where I can do much thinking. The location starts some beautiful and various bicycle rides as well. My favorite food market is 10 minutes by car, Downtown Durham is 25 minutes by bicycle and the Duke West Campus is about 15 minutes by bicycle. The maintenance crew have been taking care of my various requests in a personable and professional way. The new management is quite keen on keeping me informed of any security incidents - giving a secure feeling that it is of concern. Not hearing of any security issues could then mean that there are none. Of course the buildings will creek - that is life.

My family and I stayed in one of their corporate apartments for around a month in the summer. We chose it because of its location and affordable price as compared to other corporate rentals in the area. We rented the 2 bedroom apartment and found it quite acceptable. We did have some maintenance issues but they were resolved fairly quickly. On the negative side, the rental furniture used to furnish the apartment was old and the beds very uncomfortable. FYI, make a trip to Walmart and purchase an egg crate/s to make the beds tolerable. We also purchased a couple of pots and pans from the Dollar general as the ones in the apartment were in pretty bad shape. As for bugs... yes we saw one or two, but no big deal. We were never concerned for our safety...staff and other tenants were very nice. Oh yes, be sure and enjoy the walking trails through the Duke forest located behind the office.

This apartment complex SUCKS. The staff are as nice as could be, but the apartments are literally falling apart and maintenance does not do anything to fix it!Trust me, when I moved in here, I thought I see all of the bad reviews, but it cant be that bad and its cheap. Well trust me, it is that bad. Even worse, I know they are raising the rent by at least 100/mo. For that price, you could just get a one bedroom across the street. When I moved in, there was a hole in the landing by the stairs that the maintenance person told me would be fixed that day. Well it took about 5 months for them to do it! And when they did, maintenance left a bunch of rusty nails just sitting out on the porch. If I had any kids I would have been livid!I have been without a dishwasher for THREE months. Whenever I submit a request to have maintenance come to my apartment, I get notice back that the work was completed without anything being done. Ive had to re-submit requests 4 or 5 times before anyone comes to my apartment.I actually got away pretty lucky though, because I know other people in the complex have had serious issues with mold that the complex tries to blame on them. The only saving grace of this place is the friendly staff people and the access to Duke Forest. But it still is so far from worth it.DO NOT RENT AT THIS PLACE! I am so happy Im moving out.
