Great place to bring the little ones. We have an annual membership and they extended it for 6 months due to COVID-19. They currently require a reservation and follow good social distancing practices to keep everyone safe. They do a good job maintaining their exhibits and my son has enjoyed visiting since the age of one.

Highly recommend it! Love the display with the metal pins that you can smash your face into and see your image on the other side! Kids love the kitchen, the submarine and the forest tree you climb to see all the animals. Nursing mothers can enjoy some privacy,up in the young childrens area above the first floor. A snack bar area provides lunches and treats. Close to Dover must sees like Harveys and antique shops.

I used to bring my kids here when they were much younger. The multilevels and interactive displays they really seem to enjoy. They loved the noise walls where they can just slap paddles and produce sounds. My son really enjoyed the small cubicle they had upstairs where he could just sit quietly and play with the toys.I havent been for a while. My kids got older and they dont seem to enjoy it as much. They still have every first Sunday an event open to for special needs children which they can visit for free.I did the Jingle Bell Express with my daughter. We got to ride in a double-decker bus. We went to the Cochecho Country Club and we listened to a quick story of the Polar Express. We had an opportunity to have our photo taken with Santa with donuts and refreshment were served. My daughter got a little gift, a silver bell. The staff were very friendly. They did a great job with the special needs children.Childrens Museum is geared for more younger children. Teenagers might have not as much fun as small children or toddlers. I still would recommend a visit.

Amazing museum for kids, lots of interactive exhibits, it was crowded when we came but had a great time regardless. They will ask you to check the meals at the coat room at the entrance, I guess to prevent accidents inside. Their meal room is too small for the museum scale, there is no microwave but the staff can warm any meals if you ask. Their parking lot is right outside though not too visible unless you are familiar with the area, we had to drive twice to find it (it connects with a covered walkway). There is a toy store right across the street, we thought they had handcrafted stuff however just regular store, you may find better deals online however the tax exemption can be a dealbreaker. Overall good experience, will definitely come back if in the area.

Awesome museum with great exhibits. We went on a sunny May afternoon with a 1 and 4yr old. The museum was very quiet and we were told it can be very busy at times. We had no trouble finding parking right behind it, and after the museum the kids played at the playground adjacent to the museum/parking. The exhibits were perfect for my 4 yr old and there were several that were appropriate for my 1 yr old. I feel like a 3-7 yr old would have a blast here. The staff was helpful as well. It’s not a huge museum, essentially 1 floor with a smaller second. I could see the experience being different if the museum was packed, but we had an amazing time!

This is a great place to bring your child to explore a variety of different areas. It would be nice if it were bigger. It does have a play ground out back that is great when the weather is nice! Very educational for young kids.

The Childrens Museum of New Hampshire is a great place to spend an afternoon. There is plenty to do and experience that it will keep the kids entertained for hours. I highly recommend this museum, especially for younger children between the ages of 3 - 9. Older children will find some fun throughout the museum, but there may not be enough for that age group and above to keep them busy as long as the younger children.

My kids love this place. Each visit lasts between 2 and 3 hours and the kids are absolutely exhausted by the end. I like that they have a mix of interactive, role-playing, and quiet activities so that kids can transition through their time there. I also like the upstairs self enclosed toddler section. Do bring more than one care giver if you are going with multiple children as there is a lot of visual stimulation that kids will want to do different things. Can be expensive if you go with grandparents.

Wonderful museum housed in a lovely historical building with lots of unique regional inspired exhibits. I loved that my kids could play with the bobbins and spindles from the textile mills that create the beautiful buildings in the area. My four year old and one year old were equally engaged, with a separate play area for toddlers (I appreciated the staff gently policing the area as to prevent it being overrun with older kids, as they often do).

The museum is really made for younger kids. I would say it is perfect for kids 6 and younger. There’s 2 floors, but it is quite small. Most of all the exhibits are hands on, which is perfect for the kids. The parents might get a little bored though. There’s no on-site parking, so you’ll have to find parking on the streets. This might be a challenge at times.

Located in the heart of downtown, the childrens museum welcomes kids of all ages and abilities. The museum offers and encourages hands on play, including a train set, an interactive topographic sandbox, and many other exhibits. We have been bringing our children, 2 and 3, for years and they both love it. Metered parking on site, as well as a small playground and park. Walking distance to several great restaurants and shopping, including a toy store. We have the family membership and though we dont use all the perks (like adult nights), its been a worthwhile investment.

This place is always great for kids to run off steam and be creative for awhile. We dont come often because you have to pay for adults and kids and with more than one child it gets pretty pricey pretty quick. Wish the arts and crafts section actually had the stuff out to complete the crafts but they just dont keep up with it after a few kids ramble through it all in the morning. My kids always love the sand and play kitchen and being able to look down onto the water though. Overall id say this is good for a pit stop here and there but its nothing over the top for the price.

Very outdated and small. Unfortunately it wasnt worth the 1.5hr drive, staff appeared to careless if they were there or not. Some exhibits were broken and left you to figure it out for yourself, exhibits lacked explanations (yes it was needed on at least 2 exhibits). Our 5yr olds were bored and done within 30 mins. Limited things for under 2 as well.

Kept my kids entertained but very expensive. At $10 per person for both kids over 1 and adults, it was a very costly afternoon for myself, my 3 kids, and their grandparents. The museum us clean and has a good amount of variety. It has a great mix of STEM type exhibits and basic play/imaginative areas. My kids are 5, 4, and 2 and we spent close to 3 hours here. This museum was a fun educational place to take our daughter! We had never been here before and it was quite a surprise for our daughter. She had a blast! We got there early, shortly after they opened. There was hardly anyone there at that time. I was able to go around and take some pictures. We were able to try a lot of what the museum had to offer so that was fun! We loved the USPS letters throughout the museum. My daughter loved delivering mail! It was just such a fun time.We did visit on a weekend so we had a feeling it would be a bit busier than a weekday, but we didnt expect a party to show up. It got a bit overcrowded by 1pm so that was a bummer. (Super packed) Too many kids hovering around exhibits by that time. So we ended up leaving much earlier than we wanted to.I think the cost of admission would have been fine had we been able to stay longer. But it was so over packed with people it made it not feel like the price was worth what we paid. We were told we could leave and come back that day, but there was absolutely no parking available. People were lined up hoping to catch a spot from anyone leaving.Again, it was great before it got overwhelming busy. I would say this museum is great for kids 5 and under. If we paid this price on a sunny Tuesday, we would have probably had the best time where it wouldnt be over crowded. But when you take a busy cold Saturday and throw a kids birthday party in the mix, its not the best.

On first visit this museum seems great. The issue my family has is that every thing is always the same. We have visited the museum for two years now and nothing at all has changed. Another issue I have is the fact that adults have to pay admission and there is absolutely nothing of interest for an adult. In my opinion it is like having to pay for admission to Chuck E Cheeses. My final thought is that its a good place to visit once but with very little replay value.
