Christmas light show at Beacon Park was Beautiful. Detroit is one of those cities that possess many hidden treasures. I remember years ago wed go to Greek Town in Trappers Alley and during the Holidays Caroling Choirs sang many memorable Christmas Carols, fresh fudge was being made as entertainment, and all the shops were festive and welcoming. Its wonderful to see new traditions but great memories for many generations ahead. Merry Christmas 2020

Beacon Park is one of the new gems in Detroit. It is beautifully maintained/ landscaped and often hosts special events. It is also a great low-key place to relax and have a picnic or drink while enjoying the weather in the Summer. Also with Lumen restaurant and bar on site you never have to worry about going hungry or thirsty.

Beacon park has events throughout the year; free exercise, lawn games, live music, food trucks, silent disco! There is constantly things going on there. During the winter this a large heated tent set up so enjoy activities and it is decorated with lights all around. I have been to several events and enjoyed the restaurants around there as well; Parks and Rec diner, the Republic and Lumen. There is ample street parking around that is free on Sundays or after 10pm.

My wife and I stopped by post the Red Wings game at Little Caesars Arena. We didnt get to go inside as it was closed, however, we loved the way the outside was decorated! Seems like outdoor decorations at Christmas arent done up like they used to be.. With that said it was super fun to stop by and take some cool photos! Only thing missing was the manger scene . Its all about the celebration of Jesuss birth!

Stopped by to check out this new green space in Detroit yesterday. DTE did a great job converting a once vacant lot that was an eyesore into a beautiful, usable public space! The adult size seesaws are a fun feature, as are the bike operated phone chargers. I think this park will become a welcomed gathering place for the community.

Beacon Park has been steadily making improvements and offering activities for the whole family. Thats something that has been sorely needed in Detroit. There is an influx of new people to the city and many are coming to visit in addition to those of us who have been her most of our lives. I was able to do a quick search and find an event going on here that my whole family enjoyed and I saw some old friends too.

The silent parties are family friendly and you can bring the kids. There is alcohol sold and some food items. It normally runs from 7pm to 12am. Its very diverse, people are dancing and just enjoying themselves. To get the headphones required leaving your ID. Glad they have decided to have this event.

Gorgeous urban park with green space, artwork, lighting, and lovely landscaping. A shining example of the Detroit resurgence effect: we walked thru and lingered on two separate nights- its a backyard for locals, a playground for kids, a sports centre for the athletically inclined ( volleyball/ yoga/soccer) and a respite for all from the acres of parking lots adjacent. A beautifully designed and welcoming space
