Of the three or four Landmark Theatres in town, this is the one that probably does the most for film fans. They have interesting handouts and flyers about current and upcoming films, reprints of movie reviews, and the most artistic and appealing displays in the lobby. The have the best movie postcards, too! Hey, I cant help it - I like free stuff. The only complaint I have is that my own nickname for this place - The Cheese Artist - has never caught on with Denvers film-going community.

They are always showing the more independent films that are impossible to find in chain theaters. Its nice and clean. And they have special events every few weeks. The staff is always friendly and happy. And they use real butter on the popcorn so it super delicious!

Picture and sound could use an upgrade but overall a wonderful theatre with an exceptional selection of independent and acclectic cinema. We enjoyed our experience and parking was abundant. The seats were classic but comfortable enough for a 2 hour film without issue and facility was very clean overall with friendly staff.

This is the first review Ive done in my life. This is one of the coolest places Ive been to. You can tell that the staff are real movie fans and that they love their job.The place is so unique and friendly. It brought to me a nostalgia of a place ive never lived in: Like I had gone back to my small childhood town of 30 years ago where everyone knew each other and were happy (I grew up in New York City and Im 22).I plan to come as often as I can!

Ive been watching movies in this theater for 15+ years, and nothing much has changed. The lobby is small, the ladies room is smaller, the sound system is ok but lacks a hearing loop, and the decor is.... awful, and its in a strip mall. BUT it always shows top films, and there is more than ample free parking in the mall parking lot. The location is right off Colorado Blvd which makes the theater very easy to get to, and there are several restaurants nearby. I highly recommend this venue, and intend to see movies there for another 15+ years!

My husband and I love this place! Its our date night go to. Its nostalgia is awesome. We love the feel there, the quirky movies, and the concession stand it the best. We love their gluten free options, coffee drinks, and they have the best popcorn hands down. So glad this place is still around! I remember going there when I was a kid. Building more and more great memories there. Its different than the mega-theaters, give it a try!

Definitely going back! Comfy seats in a more traditional setting that gave it the small town, main street feel. Very clean; refreshment prices dont bust a budget, and the staff is so friendly and warm. Robin went up front and gave some historical references for the movie Darkest Hour and gave a short bio on some of the cast. I hope she does this for every movie!

Its a great place to see a movie. Its not an IMAX place, but it also doesnt have the Dave and Busters vibe. It has the kind of indie feel youd expect from a theater that plays the films Chez Artiste does. And if you want to see one of those movies youll probably appreciate that, too.

This movie theater is vey unassuming from the outside, but once you are in, it is amazing. We came here to watch Three Identical Strangers - it was a great experience. The concessions were affordable and the crowd was quiet and respectful. They have accessible seating towards the middle of the theater.

A bit pricey for an arthouse, but good concessions and programming.

Review №33

I dont go here often due to the distance it is from where I live. Out of all the landmark theaters in Denver their programming is geared more towards the arts. They show taped ballets and theatre from England. They show documentaries on artists too. I saw Kusama Infinity there. On that particular day it was a bit cold and I arrived a lot earlier than what I had wanted to. They arent supposed to open until a half hour before the first showing but one of workers opened the door early so me and others werent stuck waiting outside. It was nice of them to do that.

Saw Darkest Hour there recently. Its like an old movie theater, the kind that charged 12 cents. Popcorn is good - real butter! Pitchers of water, ice buckets. An array of classic theater candy and drinks. Senior prices are fair. Inside the theater rooms the chairs have been upgraded. Very comfortable. Before the previews begin a theater spokesperson comes out and talks about whats coming up, turn your cellphones off, etc. A very popular movie house.

In an era of awful suburban chain Cinema, landmark is refreshing. No big multiplex but you can still get bad popcorn. This theatre caters exclusively to art house cinematic films. Often times this is the only theatre in town to see a film. Spanning documentaries, drama, and action, if its Independent Cinema, you can see it here. The theatres have all been refreshed, replacing old stiff seats without padding for more modern seats.

Ive been a fan of the Chez Artiste - part of The Landmark Theater chain - since the late 1970s. Love this theater because Landmark Theaters evidently chose the Chez to screen movies that appeal to an older crowd, of which I am one :) The Chez is a small 3 screen theater that serves excellent popcorn. Love to toodle the short distance down Colorado Blvd and treat myself to terrific movies here.

The biggest problem with this otherwise great theater are the patrons. Many of them talk incessantly during the movies, just like they are in their own living rooms. Even when they are told to be quiet, they dont. It is very distracting, not to mention very rude. I should mention that these are older people and they should know better, but it does no seem to matter. They just continue to talk.

How to really love to give this kid or a higher rating but my problem is the old feel of the theater.
