Nice place for an evening stroll or biking. Quite and secluded from the main streets. Occasionally you might run into a curious deer or a squirrel.

People smile and wave/nod. Disc golf, Skateboarding/Walking/Biking path has some good shade with singing birds. It is by the railroad tracks so good to glide on slow inclines. The trail skirts through Northern Illinois University and goes on to Hopkins Park then connect with the Great Western Trail.

This is a great, simple, short disc golf course. Its pretty wide open, but theres still some variety, and its nice to play some quick rounds at. Only 9 holes.

Nice park with a frisbee golf course. We were here for a Geocaching program. There is a nice paved trail for those on bikes or physically challenged.

Easy, but fun frisbee golf course. Nicely situated along the Kishwaukee River. If youre coming from out of town, be aware that during very rainy seasons, the Kish will flood and make the course unplayable. Also a great spot to park for the nature trail, which connects or leads to about 15 more miles of trails.

Despite its name, Prairie Park has very little actual prairie. Only a small portion of the area(Near the back no less) is composed of land I would characterize as flat and grassy!That being said, there is a very nice bike path and the park portion of Prairie Park is more than suitable./

Best park in DeKalb for nature walks.

Enjoyable 9 hole disc golf course. Paved path that connects to Lions park in the south and NIU campus to the north. Kishwaukee river winds through this park as well and the path follows the river for a while.

Nice path to walk during hot and sunny day. The punts make the path nice and shady.

Awesome park and field. Has access to the river too. Park had been updated for both kids and adults.

It is a great place for picnic as well as hike. There are little hidden trails that you can take in woods if you are the explorer type.

Its a nice walk through a wooded area. Deer inhabit the park at times.The park is kind of a work in progress. There are benches along the asphalt trail. And the trail is adequately wide enough for bicyclists.There is a playground at the south end and facilities which may rate another star. But the parking lot isnt very large.

Clean and open with new (as of spring 17) paved trail plus the best frisbee golf course in the area. Only wish the trail was longer, but it is linked to the DeKalb Nature trail. Many fishing access points to the Kishwaukee river.

My first public park I visited in DeKalb and I believe its going to be the best one I ever visited in DeKalb! From the state-of-the-art playground equipment to the awesome fitness equipment. They have room in space for everything

We attended a birthday party there and the facilities were great, held over 60 people and we stayed after to play at the park. Lots to do with the park, basketball courts, wooded trail and lots of shade.

Beautiful, well maintained park. Recently paved walking trail. Excellent playground area for kids. A few outdoor workout machines for adults. Great place to bring your dogs.

Love it, but when the Kish is full, it covers a section of trail running under the bridge, wit no alternate route. Otherwise, its wonderful and a great route to work.

This was a wonderful park there is a lot of open area with a playground for children and an indoor structure if needed for parties. there is also a river nearby. There is a nice path for walking or running. Theres also big open areas to do yoga or other types of classes.

Beautiful, quiet, open space to take a short or long hike! Helps that its only about a half mile from my house!

Love running through here. Such a pretty area

A nice park to take a stroll. Loses a star for the violent crimes that have occurred there in the past (though jogging/running trails are often places of predation). Loses another star for the num er of young patrons who often sit at the bench overlooking the bridge smoking illicit things. Cant control it but it does get very full of bugs as well due to the evening shade, the body of water and the grass that is left too long after cutting.

My favorite park in DeKalb. I remember when my dad called it Peoples Park when I was a kid be and still think of it that way even though they have changed the name several times.
