Facility was clean, employees very inviting and movie was funny. It was good to be back in a theater.

I went to see Madeas family funeral this weekend and could not stay to watch due to the overpowering smell of mold! The ceiling was missing a tile dead center so I wonder if they had a leak? You could see duct work because of the missing ceiling tile.I bet the mold was in the duct because the smell was VERY bad. Bad enough that Im sure it would cause health issues for a lot of people. But not only that there was no ice in the make your own drink sticky drink machine. Over all the theater did not appear to be very clean. Madea was showing in Theater #8 so dont go in that one if you do go to a show there!FYI - Paint tape was stuck to the door frame of theater 8. Not sure why they had not bothered to remove it yet. Related to the leak?No wonder theaters are going broke/closing. Id rather watch it at home. A very unpleasant experience.

Okay, but not great. Staff is above average. The theaters could use some upgrading and the mens washroom is slowly going out of order on everything. Some of the theaters are way too quiet.

Good movie we watched. Popcorn was good but the water needed a filter. Made the Soda taste funny.

The theatre was so cold we had to wear our winter coat, hat and gloves to stay warm. I even had to wear a scarf around my nose and mouth. That is ridiculous! I will probably never return!

Line was long because only one person was working the counter for purchasing tickets and food. People were complaining that neither soda machine had any ice. Another person came to the counter and asked if the lights could be turned down in the theatre he was in since the movie had started. The movie we watched had closed captioning running the entire time, except the screen wasnt sized to see it all, so if someone actually needed it, it would not have been useful. It was very distracting. I will say the person working the counter was very pleasant and seemed to be working as efficiently as possible.

This is a great theater. It’s not too busy so there are always plenty of seats. Once in a while my wife and I are the only two in the theater. The staff is friendly and the seats are comfortable enough.

This theater should become a comedy club cause it is a huge joke! Compared to other theaters in central Illinois it is completely outdated and overpriced. The chairs are far from comfortable and the venue altogether is generic. The website is often wrong about movie times as well.

EXTREMELY, OBSCENELY OVERPRICED. Kids behind the counter were the least enthusiastic employees Ive ed ver seen. They were obviously bored and didnt care if it showed. I will not be going back. The Avon for me or I dont go to the movies.

The young man at the refreshment stand was friendly and helpful. He even sign me up for movie rewards. We didnt buy any refreshments because its way over priced. The theater was very cold and I would recommend taking a sweater to stay warm. The reason I give it 4 stars was because of the ladies bathroom. It was the first show of the day, but tissue was laying on the floor and I doubt they ever clean the stales. The stainless steel walls are dirty and should be clean. If the manager and the staff arent doing that, they should hire someone to do it. With all these scary diseases out there the bathroom should be clean with disinfectants. Little children use this so it should be CLEAN !

Need to upgrade their seats so they are more comfortable

It was clean and attractive. The prices were reasonable for the movie, but particularly for the popcorn and pop. The popcorn was good and fresh.

Stopped in to see a movie, service was good, restrooms clean, theater clean.

TIMES DO NOT MATCH ACTUAL PLAY TIME. Inconvenienced drove all the way from the west side of town to take my children too see Sonic. Not only were there no actions, me and my children had to wait in the lobby for this mistake. Needs to be fixed.

Terrible customer service. Closed concessions and we were told there were signs up to let us know that our refillable popcorn, would not happen...manager was snooty as well. Will not go back.

We came to Decatur for a friends wedding and ended up staying the night since home is 3 hours away. We wanted to see Aquaman at AMC. For 2 movies tickets, 2 large drinks, a large popcorn, and a box of candy, it cost us $50.The seats are not very comfortable but the place is small and cozy (compared to what we are used to). We were the only ones in the theater, which was nice. The popcorn was not very fresh, which was disappointing, considering the amount it cost us. The staff was friendly and the coke was good, so I cant complain too much. Overall, it was a good movie and fun time.

The theater is a bit outdated but has considerate staff and plays new movies as they release. With some new chairs it would be perfect!

Walls covered in a thick layer of dust, smells like musty mold and arm pits. Chairs were moist feeling. Very nauseating.

First time here, went to see the new star wars movie... the 3D was messed up. I went back to the lobby and told them and it still took at least 10 minutes for them to fix it...

Medium sized movie theater. Variety of snacks and movies.

Changed my review today... My advice is to skip this theater and go to Springfield. EVERY time we go here I have to ask staff to fix movie on the screen. Today we had a movie scheduled to start at noon, the doors are still locked and lights off at 12:15. We saw a woman go in but she never bothered to acknowledge the dozen or so customers standing around waiting to get in to see a movie.. piss poor service; pretty sad considering this is the only theater in this area.

I have been to the theater a few times to see 5 feet apart how to train your dragon the hidden world and to see detective Pikachu the theater was clean and the service was very friendly and all really good movies

Horrible, no signs on the doors to theatre rooms so you have no idea which movie is playing. We asked for fresh popcorn because ours was stale. They took the bag we were eating out of and threw it back into the community popcorn,smh. Then you walk in to watch the movie and its a damp yucky smell. I think paying almost $80 it should not be like this. Also my milk duds were melted in the box. Ya I wont be back .Ill drive to Springfield or Champagne from now on.

Always a great place to watch new films. Easy to sneak your own treats in as well.

Absolutely Filthy! Awful Smell of mold and musty and your seats are damp! The walls are caked in grime, and heavy dust. Absolutely filthy. Get the health dept there! For the price you pay to see a movie and concessions it SHOULD NOT be filthy!!!

The movie experience was good. I have a fat butt and they have narrow seats, but Im not going to ding them for it. Just wanted others to know.

Great place to go to see a movie

I took my grandson to watch Toy Story 4 and the movie was great! Only reason I didnt give it a 5 is because the sound wasnt working when the movie started and it took them a little bit to get it working.

It was awesome but Springfield was better. Sorry but still awsome, good work.

Very friendly staff. They upgraded a few things, such as a fill-your-own soda machine with a variety of flavors. They also now have a butter station where you can add as much butter and salt to your popcorn to your own liking.

Went & seen lion king. My kids really like it.

This theater is getting pretty run down and has out dated uncomfortable seating. There is a pretty bad mold smell in the theater rooms. But we dont have much option unless we drive an hour which is what we normally do. But tonight we were taking grandkids so we had to stay close.

Great AMC classic theatre. No recliners, but clean establishment and friendly staff.

It is a classic and everything you expect from it... they could use to redo the seating and make them more spacious.

Man real disappointed here. Havent been to a movie in about 5 + years. Was pretty excited, only to have expectations shot down quickly. First off, had a gift card and called the day before to ask if the card needed to be used online to get tickets or if I could use it at the gate upon arrival. Was told it was fine to use it when you got to gate. Got to gate and they said we had to do it online. The employee went to ask the manager, came back and said what I was told was not accurate. Wish they couldve maybe helped us out and did it on a computer for us (maybe) but no, its on us. So Ill go ahead and pay out of pocket. Walk into theatre and the aroma smells of worn out stench, close to a wet dog smell. Needless to say, Ill finish the movie, and move on. Until renovations happen and their service gets professional, I wont be back. Surrounding areas have a better value and a movie theatre feel. Sorry, hate to be so rude, but I had to be honest.

Love to come to the movies here but your food drink prices are outrageous. gosh a soda 6.00 really I could by a case for that price. Its really a shame that theaters feel they have to charge so much for food, I think more people would come if you were a bit more realistic about the food and candy prices.

We come between 4 and 5pm for cheaper tickets. Food is expensive, just regular theatre food. I always get nachos and we share a soda. Staff is young yet friendly. We are usually just about the only ones in the theatre, which is nice not having to be bothered by loud, obnoxious people talking or using their phones! We always enjoy our movies here.

Subpar theater. I thought AMC taking over the Strand would mean upgrades. Its actually got worst. Broken seats. Take to the trip to see a movie in Springfield instead.

Its a step back in time. This theater is older and is in need of a remodel. Staff members are friendly and helpful. The theater has a old moldy smell in some theaters due to water damage. Seats are old and small form factor. Some screens look like they have water damage to them. The theater just got purchased by AMC (2017) so maybe a refreshing is on the horizon. This theater is loads better then the one by the mall(also now owed by AMC).

I left movie pass to sigh up for the A list (3 movies / week for 15$/ month) pretty easy to use. Concessions are of course ridiculously expensive. They do have the coke machine with hundreds of flavors. The arcade corner is terrible. It usually just takes your money.

It wasnt a horrible experience, but the tiny old screen kept flickering. for the price, meh. not satisfied.

They really need to remove the carpet. It has such a musty smell. Several seats are broken in Theatre #3. Mysic is always ridiculously loud.

Movie theatre is wonderful. Great staff clean! The movie I can only imagine was outstanding!!!

Not exactly pleasant...stood in line for at least 15 minutes for the not so efficient check-in and concessions service being done simultaneously. What ever happened to customer service. Not only were the customers aggravated...but looking at the faces behind the counter they werent happy either. Perhaps time to re evaluate?

Good place to see movies. Concession are high as expected. The annual popcorn bucket deal cuts costs if you frequent the theaters. Usually clean.

Management and employees are rude and dont care about you or your familys experience! Screen was messed up and couldnt even see the whole movie. Slow service. Bathrooms dont even have necessary supplies. Dont waste your time here, its terrible!

This theatre does not have theatre seating. If you need assistive listening devices, you can ask an employee for one. I did not see a cup holder in the handicapped seats. 5 dollar movies are available on Tuesdays if you enroll in the amc stubs program which you can sign up for free.

The theatre was very cold. Popcorn was good, movie good, staff friendly and helpful.

This place is ok, but isnt what it used to be. Prepare to stand in line for at least 25 minutes to get your drink because theres only one soda dispenser that once you buy your drink YOU have to go and fill up. Im in the line right now and the ice dispenser broke so an employee is standing over it scooping people ice for their drinks.

Movie screen flashed on and off like a strobe light. Chairs were uncomfortable. Staff was very apologetic. Gave a refund and movie passes. They should have shut down the film, or moved it over to another theater..

Great place to take your family

This place used to be one of the nicer theaters in the area, but has definitely lost that status. Smelled like urine. The first seat my son sat in was broken and the back almost fell off. They have added a no CCW sticker to the front doors, which means I will not be back.

This is near my house and always have great service

Normally great, but the last couple of times we went the whole place was a mess. Bathrooms were not stocked - needed soap and towels. Theater was left messy from previous show. Just felt neglected.

Popcorn was stale, service was poor, the movie was larger than the screen, very over priced for the poor quality, the only decent thing I could say about this place was that the soda machines are new. Most likely will not be coming back anytime soon.

Bad smell in the the theater and a very rude young lady at the counter.

If youre looking for an immersive experience with loud speakers and a picture perfect screen, this might not be the place to go. The picture is okay but the speakers are quiet and kind of muffled. My own tv with and without surround sound can be louder that that.

The seats are older as are the screens and audio. Im not overly fond of this theater, but that said its the best one outside bloomington or springfield. In my experience its been cleaner under new management.The other decatur theater is more antiquated and has even poorer seating. Audio and screen quality/brightness clarity of the video is poorer as well. Id rather go downtown decatur and see a movie there, at least theyre old cuz theyve been there for 100yrs.

It was.great! We saw THE FORBIDDEN PARADISE, IT WAS GREAT.

They have really improved the experience of watching a movie in these theaters much brighter and louder

Eh..Screens need upgraded, this location does not offer half the food options of the other ones, Outrageous prices. Now you have to use an AMC Rewards card just to get the normal matinée prices that GKC had previously.

Nice multi screen cinema, a bit dated. The projection needs upgrade; the movie seem dark when it should not have been. Big concession stand, but not too impressive.

Adequate but not great. Standard seating and snacks. Would like to see what AMC will do now that have bought out Carmike. Hoping for some lounge chair type seating and meal options.

Prepaid for a ticket at 8:30pm and they refused to allow me to exchange to see at 7pm with friends(no difference in theater features). Poor customer service in my opinion. I will be speaking with a manager tonight and probably wont be coming back.
