Went with my 8 year old son. As an Arab American I was happy to take my son to a museum that represents him and his background. We go to a lot of museums that represent other cultures and backgrounds and it was nice to go to one that we can relate to.I learned a lot about the first Arab Immigrants to the USA.

This place looks small from the outside so makes you think it can’t possibly be any good but once you go inside, it’s absolutely amazing how much you can learn. Arabic or not, you will enjoy every moment you spend in this beautiful museum. I love it and can’t wait to bring the kids along for the next visit.

So impressed with the museums recent programming. The quality of these events has been phenomenal -- consistently eye-opening, well-timed and with a strong community focus.I can only assume that this is all the result of wise museum leadership, trusting their young staff members to take the lead on curating events and partnerships. It seems like the museum is going through a golden generation moment right now and I really hope it lasts. Please do yourself a favor and dont miss out.

Im always amazed at how much I learn when I visit this museum! Just being reminded America is built on the people who immigrated here is powerful. It cant be separated from our American fiber! Its a good dose of truth. The staff here are helpful, kind and answer any questions. This place has a good feel.

I always try to venture out of my comfort zone and gain knowledge through personal experiences and education when traveling. I was so impressed with this museum and the presentation of their artifacts. The history of Arab Americans and their immigration stories are like many other nationalities who struggled coming to America. I strongly recommend this museum, its a great place to visit if youre in the Detroit area.

Very informative and friendly in a beautiful modern building ... park in the back ... enter in the front. I am so glad I finally made time to visit! As a non-Arab, I have always been curious about Islam and the Middle East, and this museum is perfect place to gain an understanding of those questions. I recommend following the phone-guided tour at your own pace. The staff was very friendly and helpful with my questions after my visit too.

Great experience, attended as part of an assignment for Cultural Anthropology. Our professor is actually the Directors of Education Programs here.As a movie buff, I particularly enjoyed the in Entertainment section! The building is filled with beautiful art and imagery. If you have an opportunity to take a tour or visit the gift shop take a look.

$8 dollars admission and just $4 for student, which makes it so affordable. Its nice collection of books instruments, and things of Arab, but very little. I think they have plenty of things to add here.Second floor have belonging of American Arab when they came here. You could check all the museum in hour -2 hours Id say, and 4 dollars to enjoy seeing these collections are worth it.

I went on a one-hour group tour with some school mates. I had such a good time! The architecture, paintings, historical artifacts, and overall set-up of the museum was beautiful, engaging, and interesting. I Overall, it was because of our tour guides that this trip went beyond my expectations: she (the main tour guide) and her assistant were incredibly informative, enthusiastic, intelligent, engaging, and patient. A very mind-opening and educational trip (: I would definitely go again!

A must see for anyone interested in the journey of Arab Americans, an immigration story that dates farther back than most people think. The rotating exhibits, performances, and movie screenings are fantastic and pertain to current events. The permanent collection is text-heavy, so give yourself plenty of time. My favorite is the letters exchanged between a young Jordanian woman and her parents after she informs them she is in love with an American man and asks for their blessing in marriage. Read the Arabic original text if you can as it is heartwarming; the English translation is pretty good too.

Very awesome place. My siblings and I really learned a lot. If you do have young children with you, dont go to the basement. The exhibit there talks about discrimination and the imagery is a good representation but not appropriate for children under 12.

What an amazing place. Looking from the outside, you think how much can be in such a small space? Well after 2.5 hours of wandering through the exhibits, I can tell you there is plenty to see. I have always thought Arab = Muslim, but I learned Arabs are also Christian and Jewish. If you are ever in Dearborn, MI, I would recommend a visit.

My friend and I learned so much at the AANM. I learned how her cell phone could act as an interactive device for specific information on certain exhibits.I loved the giant map; the historical exhibits with real artefacts; the photography exhibit below-ground; the mosaics and islamic architecture. There was much that was worthy of praise. The history of Palestine was tastefully done; it was factual, not inflammatory. There were many great teaching tools.Thank you to all who contributed to the creation of this museum. Those of us who have lived in the Middle East and North Africa would feel, when visiting, that we had come home.PS: Loved the food and warm, Middle-Eastern service at nearby Habibs, and the desserts at Shatilas. Also enjoyed buying the Jerusalem pottery in the gift shop.
