So big you cant finish in a day. With the open fields and spread out village, great time with the kids and getting them to spend energy. Staff do keep an eye on the buildings to make sure you are using masks were posted. Great time, could not leave until it was closing time. Takebthe time to speak to the staff and it is a hands on visit. Awesome.

Their revamped Halloween Nights experience is truly worth the price of going. From the stand point of going by myself for photography, the village part was okay (families and couples would enjoy it better). But their new haunted train ride called Halloween Express? So good that it rivals the best haunted houses in Metro Detroit. 2.5 miles is some of the best haunted-type scenes all along their loop of track. Too cool.A Must-do for 2021 for sure.

The Village was lovely altho a very slimmed down version of its norm activities. No houses open...tho several had docents outside talking about the home/building. Train was running Food, but no model Ts or horse rides. Food choices were only Taste of America and custard stand...but that met my needs just fine. Carousel and train were running with a lot of sanitation going on. Much quieter pace. :)

Great historical attraction. Wonderful place to take the family. A working farm, lots of original and recreated historical buildings, historical artisans, and tons of knowledgeable staff who are happy to help. Was impressed with the changes they have made to deal with covid 19 concerns. Wasnt too busy when we were there, but the place is but enough that they could handle a good number of concurrent visitors as long as people were smart about it.

Being a history buff, I really enjoyed the significance of each and every building at the park. Tomas Edisons menlo park, the Wright brothers bicycle shop, Stephen Fosters home, almost everywhere is a significant part of our history. I have gone several times and I find something interesting to see each time. Very clean and well preserved, friendly staff. Very good value for the whole family.

Have always loved this place. I dont enjoy that they masked the statue of Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and the characters on the clock tower. I see those as historical and am dismayed at this move. Its still an excellent place to go walking. Masks are required when entering the Village and in many of the yards. Only one place to get lunch is open with long lines when we last went. So many buildings seem as though they could be open but are not. If you are into the rides be aware of the following:There is a wait for the carousel, as they clean each animal between rides. The cars are not running. Neither are the carriages/bus. The train has eliminated stops. A partition has been placed between each row, yet only every other row is opened and for just one party per row.Thankfully, the playground is now open. If I didnt have a membership, I would be very disappointed. It is very quiet, as they have limited how many enter each hour. I really feel that they have over reacted to Covid.

Wonderful place to visit. Like Disneyland without the commercialism. It is warm in the Summer (no kidding) but Greenfield Village has many shady benches to get a break from the sun. The grounds are pristine. The town clock sits in the middle of Main Street . This is a central meeting place for visitors and towers over the town square, the custard stand, and the passing Model Ts. As you can see from the clock face, the clock was originally created by Sir John Bennett and was relocated from London, England to its present location when the building was moved. There is also a colorful carousel complete with hand-carved wooden animals and a Wurlitzer band organ. Herschell-Spillman made the only carousels with giant green frogs--and they are the only carousel animals that wear human clothing. The Herschell-Spillman Company built this carousel in 1913 in North Teswanda, New York.

This is a wonderful collection of old buildings that affected history brought together by Henry Ford. It is very wheelchair/stroller friendly. They have a nice restaurant that is period appropriate. Rides on older vehicles that are well worth the extra price: a train, horse drawn carriage, old bushes and Fords. There are plenty of restrooms. They have a nice playground and an old carousel. You can visit historic houses and buildings, ride on a train pulled by a historic locomotive engine, or ride on a carousel built in 1913. The experience is different this year than in previous years, of course, but its still well worth the price of admission. Some of the highlights include:The courthouse where Abraham Lincoln practiced lawThe house Henry Ford was born in (the inside of the home is currently closed, but you can speak with the presenters outside the home who will share many interesting facts and anecdotes)Both the childhood home of the Wright brothers, Wilbur and Orville, and the bicycle shop they owned that helped to finance their dream of flight (both currently closed inside but presenters are available outside)Firestone Farm, a real working farm, where Harvey Firestone grew up (the inside of the home is closed, but there is still a lot to see, including the many animals on the farm)You can check their website to see what buildings/houses are currently open or staffed.

Hard to go wrong with Greenfield Village. Tons of interesting things to see, surprisingly good food if youre hungry. The employees who dress in period clothing and spend the day living as the family who would have lived there is a nice touch (complete with making food in the kitchen). Lots of information to take in. Really impressive effort on behalf of Henry Ford to dismantle, relocate, and rebuild old historic buildings… including Thomas Edison’s laboratory. Great playground and carousel right next to each other if the kids get bored of all that learning and history. Plenty of activities and events to take advantage of throughout the year. Most notably are the Halloween and Christmas nights (special ticketed evening events). At Halloween, kids and adults walk along a route lite by jack-o-lanterns (thousands of them), with fun characters, shows, and candy stations along the way. For Christmas, the whole city gets festive with carolers, campfires, great smelling food, music, and of course, decorations inside the homes based on the era they’re from. Greenfield Village is also the location of the Detroit Maker Faire each year. And besides all that, sometimes just going in the summer to walk around is pleasant enough. Worth a membership when you consider its combined with the Henry Ford Museum.

What a step back in time. There is so much to see that it takes a whole day to do if not more. Watching the craftsman and crafts woman work at there trades was impressive to say the least. We watched a demonstration of a old two person printing press being used, and got to keep a copy for free. They were making blown glass pumpkins which was a mesmerizing process too. The Eagles Tavern was based on the 1850s era with decor and garb to match. Their food was fantastic also. It Id definitely a great place to visit at least once in your life.
