Visited to complete the Buncombe Hill Interpretive Trail as part of the Florida State Forest Trailwalker Program. It helped to have the map printed out from the Florida State Forest website to locate the trail. The trail is very private, we didnt see anyone.I recommend to call ahead to make sure the trail/park is open. They had closed down part of the forest when we were there due to dryness and potential for fire.

Buncombe Nature Trail was excellent. Such a hidden gem. A great distance for a quick hike during the day. The pamphlets provided were pretty interesting and gave a lot of info on the history, trees and plants. Note that there is a 2 dollar fee to use the area!

Looking to get away for a few hours, Tiger Bay may be the place for you. Outdoors, Nature, lack of traffic, no unnecessary noise, and low cost. Sounds perfect right? Tiger Bay is all you make of it. Drive through for some minor off road action, or hit the trails for a nice hike.

Tiger Bay is nice but no deer right now I am on the tree 17feet high and so quite. No deer in Tiger Bay. County has to do something like they can bring deer to hunting area tobe more. County they can close the hunting area list two years to deers to grove and hunting will be more enjoyable to everyone.Tiger Bay nice place to hunt but nothing to hunt in Tiger Bey.

I actually was at Blue Springs State Park. We had a great 4th of July week there camping. I took my dogs and they were not freaked out due to fireworks. There were lots of places close by that had a firework show we could go see. It was very hot so the cool float down the springs was terrific. Recommend this campground.

We are used to hiking AZ, MT, UT, etc, and this is a bit more of a walk than a hike if that makes sense. We walked the Buncombe Hill off of Indian Lake Rd...there are no hills :) It was 2 a 2 mile loop. It cost $2 per person payable in a drop box in the Indian Lake Recreation Area.

RO
Review №29

Theres a trail named Buncomb just at the entrance of tiger bay forest. Ive hiked it several times. Its just a two mile easy to walk loop, but its in a very nice forest, with well marked trees keeping you on the trail. The trail is well kept with information stations identifying the local Flora. I am a photographer with a strong interest in woodland photography and I really enjoy walking the white sand trail sometimes sunny, mostly shady, with camera in hand. Hope you enjoy it as well.

Loved this place! You feel like youre totally alone in the world, surrounded by nature. There is a gorgeous lake and plenty of wildlife! Im really surprised that there was no one around. There are a few places that you can do some donuts and some deep ruts to root in. I cant wait to going mudding there on a rainy day! I also plan on a picnic there soon. You can hunt there in season. I need to call to see if you can target shoot and when, but it would be a great place to do it.

I come here with my friends from time to time. We are usually the only ones when we camp here. Its always a fun chill place without scary animals or anything. Ive never had a problem here. Make sure you stay safe and also camp next to one of the portable bathrooms just in case. You are allowed to drink here and light a bon fire. Make sure to please clean up after your camping trip.

We entered and parked in the horse parking lot on SR 40 entrance. There were no instructions, no fee box, no brochures, no info. The Trailhead parking lot is large, like 500 x 500, enclosed so you can let your horses free after the ride. There are gates to ensure they stay in.There is no water here. There are no bathrooms here. It is very primitive. The trails vary between old truck dirt trails and bear trails, wide enough for one rider only. This trail follows along the dirt road for car traffic until the loop.We saw deer during the early afternoon. We only picked up 1 tick this time but we sprayed heavily with Pyrhanna and Deep Woods Off.We had fun with our group but there are no amenities here and the parking lot has no shade whatsoever. We take our own water sprayer to spray off ourselves and the horses. Youll need to take water on this entrance for Rima Ridge Trail.I would not return to ride this trail again. It wasnt very fun but the outing with family and friends made it ok. This is a one-timer trail ride.

Always an excellent patch of woods to get lost in for a few hours. The wildlife really comes out after a rain shower. Several umcommon native plants can be discovered here if you know what youre looking at. An impressive array of habitats and geography. I have not encountered any aggressive snakes here but its always a good idea to slow down and pay attention to what youre stepping on.
