My son who is a freshman at Mainland high school is on the beach volleyball team. Since they cant practice he showed up to the courts at City Island Park with a teammate and they were practicing for about 30 minutes when a group of 4 older adults showed up and basically told them they needed to get off because they had 4 people to play a game. I would liked to understand what the rules are if any for those courts.

So much garbage, I dont think they have a grounds attendant as there is trash in the water and very close to it. Thats a serious turnoff, along with the lack of shade trees, I really dont understand the palm tree obsession, I could barely walk this park. It was an ok park, but the wildlife didnt seem very protected from anyone stumbling into their nest. Not enough trash cans available and no plastic recycling available. The trash in the photo was from next to one side of walkway, in approx only five feet of grass/rock.

Reminiscent of old Daytona this area is filled with humble little knickknack shops and coffeeshop storefronts. Youll find fashion, hobby, music, and art shops with culturally diverse food here. There is even a retro arcade... with beer... and pizza! There is an impressive pawn shop on the corner across the street from International Speedway Bridge. A beautiful library, on the river with a great shaded park for children in the back, cleverly placed on the river as well. Tortugas Baseball Stadium which is a hot spot for events is also conveniently close by. There is a bridge that has been being erected since I lived here in June 2017 and unfortunately, it is still under construction today; April, 18th, 2019. It is the only eyesore in the area. All in all this is a great place to relax and unwind.

Gee after a long time passing by due to closure. Nice local park. Homeless gone and not much dogs here yet. Had my dog run from small dog to big dog park. Thanx

If I could give a negative star I would. This place is junk. If you want to be harrassed by the homeless and look at unlanscaped area this is your place.

The way they have the park set up is great. It keeps the homeless away from my daughter while she plays. You have to go through the library to access the park now. Check it out!

So happy that the playground was placed inside of the library.

I play volleyball here, so I enjoy it. But as far as a park is concerned, not much sports. You walk/run, hang out, be by the water.

Small park with just a slide (albeit a nice one) and a swing set. Theres often bits of trash in the sand at the base of the slide. Not a bad place to spend a little time if youre already at the library, but I wouldnt make a trip here just for the park.

Nice park...Yes it is covered with the homeless but dont this detour you from visiting the park. For the most part the homeless people are a little respectful. The will give you space.

Nice park with a great library, a site for festivals and its along the intercoastal waterway! And dont forget the historic Jackie Robinson ballpark. The 5th oldest ballpark in America still in use! Catch a game with the Daytona Tortugas!

One of the best parks in Daytona, BUT the pushy drunk homeless people ruin the experience. If I was homless I would pick this place too.
