Wonderful art a must see if you are close. 1 to 2 hours to see all....but i could have spent more time easily. They rotate the walls but there is no set schedule coming up. I will always keep checking to come back and see some new works. Amazingly filled top to bottom.

Had a fantastic time! The brown museum is architectural e great and the paintings and water colors are just spectacular. Take time to enjoy their Cafe in the front lobby area. The service is wonderful and theres something for everyone with a variety of sandwiches and soup. If you are a Volusia County resident, take advantage of the free first Tuesday of every month. Admission includes not only the brown Museum but the Arts and Science Center.

Where to begin!! Last night (11.4.18) I had my wedding at the museum and it was so beyond perfect. There wasn’t a single issue (that I know of)! Tori, who I have been working with for months was absolutely AMAZING! Always extremely punctual with meeting and quick to respond if you emailed or called her. The whole staff of people that worked that night (from the museum) was so friendly and sweet, even the security guards were so kind! I would recommend this museum to anyone because of how gorgeous it is, but also as a venue! As a bride I never once had an issue or problems with this venue or Tori.Thank you so much!!!-Katerra & Eric

This collection of Florida focused art takes my breath away. I feel a deep gratitude to the Browns for making their private collection public, and their generosity is their legacy. This collection ranges from lush river landscapes to harbors, small towns, private homes, wildlife - oils, watercolors, wood block, illustrations...the collection is vast and interesting and tells the story of Florida.I would, however, recommended that the museum add a formal docent staff. I have yet to visit this museum when someone, or a group of someones wasn’t actively engaged in conversation either using their pretend “whisper” voice, or at full-blown outdoor volume. A docent presence (and docent intervention in these situations) would preserve the experience of paying guests who understand, and respect museum etiquette.

The book store & museum have zero books, artwork, or information on the very rich African American history in the Daytona Beach. Though it’s lack of community representation was disappointing, it does offer a GORGEOUS building with beautiful Floridian artwork set amid the back drop of lovely grounds. It’s a wonderful place to eat, take visitors, or just escape for an afternoon. It’s definitely a must see in the Daytona Beach Area.

This is a terrific art museum for a town the size of Daytona. The art collection, which represents Florida and Volusia County artists and subjects, is housed in a very nice, open, and attractive building in a beautiful setting. The entry fee is very reasonable and the parking is free. A must see in Daytona.

Review №48

The best collection of Florida art I have ever seen! Stunning facility that shows off the artworks to full advantage. The artworks and frames appear to have been treated to top notch restoration where needed so the pieces look fantastic and the lighting shows each one off to its best advantage. This museum is worth a trip from anywhere in the state or further away if you are interested in art featuring the state of Florida painted by such diverse artists as Milton Avery, Beanie Backus, Martin Johnson Heade, and George Inness to name but a few. There will soon be a cafe so you can spend several hours enjoying the paintings at your leisure and then get a snack before your next adventure. Many Florida art museums are disappointing because they lack the depth of inventory of older institutions and you can cruise through in a very short time. Not so this museum - you will want to take your time looking through this extensive collection of top quality museum worthy works of art.

The good part..the pictures tell a wonderful , beautiful story of Fla artists between 1880 and 1940....however the lighting causes glare on some pictures., and cuts off 2 % of the top of many pictures because of the angle of the lighting is to high. This should be adjusted. Entrance hall picture must be seen!
