Beautiful, very clean beach. A nice long stretch to get some cardio in. Not too many people
This is a thin strip of beach that is eroding and rocky. Not the best place for most beach goers, especially the kiddies since the water is rough. The other issue is the lack of water closets (aka toilets), the train runs by regularly, parking is limited & subject to closure. There isnt much action for surfers since the waves are mostly beach breakers. The plus side is that its a great beach for rock hounds, and to chill. Mostly a locals hang out and the bike trail access for PCH is nearby. Overall I wouldnt recommend this beach for families, and not for an all day stay since there are no facilities available. Stay well during the time of Covid, and remember to keep that 6 buffer zone.
My favorite beach in Southern California! Go check it out if you can. Nice and clean bathrooms with showers. It does have a basketball and volleyball court with boardwalk. Lots of beach sand and does not get crowded or too full for the most part. There is paid hourly parking on beach park and street parking as well. Lifeguard on beach with water conditions updated regularly.
Love the beach in southern california. Not sure how much of it will be left with global warming. What makes me laugh is the folks who spend millions to rebuild a beach,IE Malibu and thinking that will keep it from being washed away.
Perfect place to spend our sun sets with our family and best friend
Extremely busy beach with very limited parking. Mostly rocky areas with some sandy beach. Picnic benches, walking trail, no dogs allowed. Lots and lots of people.
Very relaxing, Love it. Sad the restrooms were washed away.
One of our favorite places...great sunsets in winter. Sure hope it will be eventually restored with a permanent bathroom and more benches along the shore walk. However, we understand that mother nature has the final say. This beach has always been challenging to build on. Still great in its natural form.
Amazing. I need to go back soon.
Its nice to see the park open again. While there is no more basketball courts there are picnic tables and still plenty of parking spaces. Great place to sit and have lunch in the sun!
Great place to park for a bike ride down the coast
Just passing thru and just had to put my feet in the water
A good place to park and relax listening to waves. Storm in 2019 washed out foundation for restrooms so they were removed and replaced temporarily with porta potties. Several fire pits for day or night use. Popular for family gatherings.
Such a chill park and a beautiful sunset.
Great to bring your horses. Quite and peaceful
Finally, work to clear away those ugly rocks. Cant wait until its done, the perfect place for relaxing.
This park was practically destroyed from last years storms, portable restrooms are here. Extra large rocks have been added to break the waves up, you can climb through them to reach the beach. But its a far cry from what it used to be. I could not find any place to pay for parking. But we like the access here seems to always have parking here.l
Peaceful under the radar beach
Great place to start a walk then down to the campground then back.
Small beach, but the water was nice and clean.
Nice uncrowded beach but I hope they restore the area. Crumbling away. My gf loves it here.
I gave it 5 stars for nostalgic reasons. Last years storm swept the perfect beautiful spot away
Beautiful and not crowded.
If you love sitting by the ocean and enjoying your packed lunch, come here. They have covered picnic tables right on the edge of the water. What a great way to relax.
This is inbetween one main spot and the next big spot along the beach so not a crowd to deal with. Still a good spot for different agendas; To relax, exercise, have lil gathering, and even to get ur pet out for sum fresh air. Took our puppy out and she loved it. Had to wait for the train to go by and stayed at the light a bit b4 turning in but right as the wait got the blood pumpin, had the beach air and nice waves to cool it al off. One of the highlights here was how close u are to the beach sitting in your car. Litterally can pull up and park, and get a great view, listen to the waves and get a sum good wind. So nice
A great place to go day or night to walk, talk, sit, think, bike, walk your dog, etc. Excellent views of the harbor and the ocean. Wildlife. Free parking. Rest rooms. BBQs.
One of the best beaches in the O.C
I have lived a 5-minute walk away from Capo Beach Park since 1983. This makes me so sad. They took out the fire pits last year because the tides were getting higher, into the fire pits and spreading all the nails and other leftover metal (from dingalings who burned whatever they could find) all over the beach. And now, a minor storm has washed away the boardwalk and closed the basketball court, the bathrooms, and the parking lot until further notice. Anyone who doesnt believe that climate change is real and has real consequences should look at pictures of my favorite beach from 1950 until now.
Free parking at least for now. Damage from storms has made this area a little beat up. There is K-rail and danger tape where the parking lot collapsed. Very nice alternative parking spot for walking the beach at Doheny.
Its a great beach to just drive your car up ckose and watch the waves from your car. Its a sweet spot
Who doesnt love a So Cal beach on a perfect summer day!?! Capo is good for families because it has easy access to the sand, fire pits, and campgrounds.
I love this park! In fact its my most favorite. Its a beautiful strip of land right in the cozy Capistrano Beach neighborhood. Every square inch provides beyond breathtaking ocean views. Excellent place for children to play, walk dogs, go for walks or just sit on one of the several benches that look out over the ocean. Its safe because its in a nice neighborhood!
Good we had a blast day..
Great place near Dana point to watch sunset. Enough parking space and gets crowded around sunset time
A great pit stop on my way from LA to San Diego
Very rocky, but still amazing!
Free parking, awesome! Nice for relaxing in your car or at one of the picnic tables
Well there is half the parking lot and basketball court is missing . still good . no bathroom it to washed away.
Its just ok since half the parking lot got taken out in storms over the last few years. Bathrooms taken out as well. Parking is currently free though. Not sure what future plans are for it.
Parking lot right next to beach
Sick as Pho
Check before you pack up and head there. Parking lot and exit was closed today except house residents. Looked great but can’t really rate it.
Tore up from recent storms. Nice beach but no facilities
Great beach. You can pay a parking pass and drive up to picnic
All i can say is it beautiful and amazing.
Easy access, beautiful sunsets
Always nice
Awesome, grateful xoxo
Easy parking nice beach
I really liked this beach. We went on a cloudy day so parking was really easy and it wasnt very crowded. The pebbles on the beach are lovely and the buildings near and in the parking lot were cool.
Beautiful area. Picnic benches. Swing set for kids. Bonfire pits. Free parking after 5pm. Great waves for surfers. Cute shops nearby. The train goes right by. A lovely beach with a short walking distance to parking! (A rarity for good beaches.)
Nothing to see here folks.Just an eroded beach with overpriced parking.sad because it use to be a great place to walk your dog.Now dogs are not allowed.Go tp Dana Point Harbor.free parking in most areas and dogs welcome. And do not believe that climate change had anything to do with nature that claimed its territory back.
I love this beach. Its my hang out.
Beautiful weather, not many visitors
Still has some good ocean views.
This is a nice beach. There is plenty of sand to set up camp. It is also a long beach so you can walk for a long time and still not reach the end. I can see parking being an issue on busy days. If you dont get into the parking lot I did not see any street parking or other alternatives. There is also a train that goes by pretty regularly.
Refreshing ocean breeze amidst soft golden sand.
Great beach park, currently undergoing construction due to high tide.
Not a great beach narrow next to RR
Its so sad to see the amount of erosion. We are losing our beloved Capo beach!
Sad to see the ocean erosion
Long lifetime happy place
Spectacular views & location!!!
Wonderful place to eat your lunch.
No handicapped parking. Difficult path to walk on.
Definitely bike ride to the board Walk .
The best usually is expensive not today.
Right on the sand/water... Beautiful sunsets! Fun bongo drumming happening in the background today...
Easy access to beach, parking
Great location,Beautiful beach and view,Perfect place to enjoy your lunch also!
Great place to walk.
The beach was covered with debris from the stroms that came through the week prior. Regardless of its appearance, it was wonderful to see all the people out enjoying the sunshine on the sandy beach. It was wonderful to see several of the beach goers assisted the city by removing some of its debris from its shoreline.
Fantastic waves
Open this weekend only
Absolutly stunning
Quiet, and serene. Nice view of Dana Point. Pleasant and calm at high tide. No sand/rocks beach walk with these tides.
Always great.
Beautiful beach that isnt crowded. Its not good for surfing due to the topography and that keeps the population down. Grab a book and a chair.
Great beach easy access
Great little spot to hang out. The parking lot is never full, there are fire pits, basket ball hoops and close restrooms. There are a lot of rocks on the sand and in the water so its tough to walk barefoot.
Very cool spot
Its beautiful!
Beautiful beach front boardwalk with basketball and volleyball courts
