Easy to park. Interesting buildings. Good views. Some displays inside. The trails we took were ok but didnt get into the wilderness. Would go back.

You can walk on raised structures or hike along the Trinity River at this beautiful retreat. The trails were clearly marked and well maintained and although we were warned about the possibility of snakes, we didnt see any although we saw and heard lots of birds. Best to get there early or in the afternoon because it was hot on the June afternoon we visited. I would also bring some insect spray since the many water areas attracted mosquitoes. Parking was free but there was an admission charge. We decided to return during the winter and it was easier to see some of the birds because the trees had lost their leaves. Water levels were way lower and no flowering plants. Maybe the next trip shall be in spring.

Dallas is not exactly known for its nature, but the Audubon Center is a natural gem right outside the city. Come for a visit and walk through the wetland habitats. Try to spot as many birds as you can, and maybe even a turtle or too! A fun place to go relax for a couple hours away from the city.

The nature preserve is very nice. But nothing special. The entry fee is $6 per person and they don’t even have an open area for a sit down picnic on the river. The closest spot was still so far from the body of water that you can barely see anything. The building itself is definitely a work of art and seemed like a lovely venue for a wedding. However, we will not be coming back as the entry fee in so expensive for a family of 4 that it’s not even worth the trouble. We can have a picnic somewhere else

We had an enjoyable time here. Sadly being so late in the season means the vegetation is dead. Still enjoyable trails. Would not recommend to go during the winter months though.

6/18/20 According to their voice menu, the entire property is completely closed through at least June 30th because of covid-19. The recording even mentions if you access the trails or enter the property in any way, you could be charged with criminal trespass.

Wonderful serene escape in the middle of the city. Great family-friendly hiking trails (easy for children to walk) and an engaging educational center to inform visitors about how the Audubon Center came to exist. Once you visit youll be sorry you didnt visit sooner. Best bird-watching happens in the early morning. Staff is friendly and well-informed.

This site is a great place to take a break, get out and enjoy nature without traveling out of town. Its especially amazing to thinking about and experience when you learn the history of the site as an illegal dumping ground. The trails are all well marked and in great shape, even despite all the rain the area had been having. None of them were too difficult either. It was a nice way to spend a couple of hours.

Great place to walk around for a few hours. Take your time and keep your eyes and ears open. Saw a great white egret and a blue heron in the ponds, some hawks soaring high, and what I think was a red tanager that darted out of the trees in a flash.

I sat on the panel for the Exxon Mobil Green team when this facility first opened, we discussed the impact that this place would make, and it has delivered! In more ways than one, I loved the bike trails, the view, it is truly a gem in the southern sector. They have bike rentals at the start of the trail, deer running, hiking trails, blue heron and red owls flying. Just absolutely beautiful.

It was a great place to visit. Definitely recommend taking sun screen and bug spray. The trails are nicely marked. Before starting the trail there was a sign with possible sightings of snakes, hogs, and coyotes. Luckily everything went smoothly! Definitely recommend if you like bird watching or just love the wilderness :) This is not the place if you dont like bugs lol

I cannot believe I had not visited before. Inside the visitor center they were super kind and informative. My sister was in town doing a project for her landscape architecture program at college and the front desk lady talked with her for a while about not only the Audubon center but the community as a whole. Gave her many resources to contact. Outside, the trails were beautiful. So many birds to see and places to explore. They are doing an awesome job at restoring the space. Well done!

I went with my son on his school field trip as a chaperone. It was a light-rain type of day but the staff still tried to make the best of the situation with a large visiting shool and the weather. Aaysa was our teacher for the trip. She was knowledgeable and very nice with the children. Our school arrived about an hour late due to a tardy bus but we still had a fun time with a short outdoor walk and indoor activities. The staff was nice and helpful. I wish things that were out of our control (rain and bus) wouldve been different and let us explore more. We will have to visit as a family at a later date because there was much more we didnt get a chance to experience all the great activities and trails.

My husband and I were married at the Trinity River Audubon Center last year in April, and the experience was perfect. This place had the beauty and wildness, and eclectic feeling that we wanted, and the staff was enormously helpful. And, it was so affordable! The day was gorgeous, and our wedding outside on the extended porch was beautiful!!!Because it was a small wedding, our reception was in the all glass classroom at the peak of the building...gorgeous, too! I am so thankful we found the Audubon Center ,and will be returning to enjoy it for all of its other beauty for years.

Great place to relax and observe nature. They have a lot of walking trails, and theyre pretty easy. I had a 2-year-old with me and she kept up easily. The staff are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We had a great time. My only complaint is the way they do booking for groups. We didnt require any staff to lead us on the trails or teach a class or anything, yet we had to book well in advance, and they made us pay for members who ended up sick the day of and couldnt come.

This is my Oasis from the city. I advise staying on the Audubon side of the the trail. The trail is broken into 3 parts. The first or last half the side connected to (Joppa Preserve) connected to a park and picinc area should be avoided. The 2nd half is the wetlands. Opening to a pond and plain. Plenty of birds, insects, and yes snakes. The entrance to the trail closest to the Audubon center is my favorite. The trail takes you through tress with bends and bridges. Spiders and other insects pop out at you. I prefer this trail it provides shade and is the longest of the three parts
