My 7 year old wanted a to go to a bmx bike park. This place is everything he ever hoped for. I only gave 4 stars because its hard to get to. You have to be ready to hike, or bring your own bike. I can only fit my kids bikes in the car, so I had to walk. Warning, theres crazy ramps here. Kids may get hurt.

Loved it but think it was more about who I was with than where I was at.

This is a nice little park/nature preserve. There is a bit of a homeless problem here, with trash and homeless camp sites sprinkled throughout. But if you keep to the main trails you can avoid all of that.

One of my favorite parks in Costa Mesa. I can almost forget that I live in a city while I listen to nature sing its song around me. The greenbelt offers several shaded picnic benches with trash cans. The estuary offers opportunities to see unique plants, trees and animals. I can get lost down there for hours and find solutions to even my most pressing problems while enjoying the seclusion of the natural valley.

I would love to give 5 star review but kinda unsafe ! Newport Beach police dont want to go there and Costa Mesa police are worthless unless you have 10 minutes to listen to Spanish over it and the Santa Ana city it has become

Nice place to rest alongside the Santa Ana Rivertrail near Huntington Beach. Squirrels rustling in leaves of high trees. Turkey vultures flying high in the blue sky. Osprey nests currently under observation by wildlife enthusiasts. Lunch tables, water fountain, public restrooms, sink.

Brought the kids to play soccer and football, but was disappointed that there wasnt a grassy area to play, only dirt so the kids got really dirty. No place to have a picnic either. We were scared because we heard some people hanging out in the tall bushes/trees, it turns out there were some homeless folks setting up shelter in there and we saw allot of trash and clothes on the trail. I think its a great bike trail though.

Park is sort of eerily beautiful with lots of brush and birds, very silent. But I gotta say as a woman alone I did not feel safe here at all. The trails form a maze through which you can’t see around you. I was here on a weekday so not many people; but the people who were there were young men, clearly homeless, walking around alone. I kept rounding corners and coming face to face with people in a way that was actually kind of creepy lol. I’m glad I had binoculars (I was birding) bc at one point I saw a man way further up a path I was walking on, and was only able to see him with the binoculars, and I’m not sure what he was up to—he was doing...something.—but I got a bad feeling and decided to turn around rather than pass him by. Many may think I’m being ridiculous, but fwiw I’ve traveled through many countries and places totally alone, and have almost never felt as instinctively freaked out by a place. And this was in broad daylight; it’s just that if anyone had decided to mess with me they could have basically stalked me without my detecting them, and no one would have heard me calling for help either. After like 45 minutes of trying to go deeper into the park, all my instincts told me to leave and get back to more open terrain.I hope this helps anyone who is thinking of going here alone. If I had one more person with me I would have pretty much felt fine I think. And if anyone is feeling like having a real-life creepy video game experience—a natural maze, total silence except the cawing of crows, frequent surprise encounters around some corners, and a slowly mounting sense that someone may be watching you—maybe try this out, it was cool if a little scary! :)

This park is hidden below the bluff at Fair View Park and next to the Santa Ana river. Nice and green with picnic tables around the edges, and lots of squrilles around.

Its a pretty good park but it has problems. One problem is that its has a homeless problem. You see the park is beautiful but theres plenty of trash and dont stray off the beaten path. Me and my friend strayed from the path and we found some homeless dude sleeping which scared us. Beside that in this park there is a place called sheeps hills which is basically a pro bmx park but theres never really anyone there. I would just go to a better park if you had the option.
