Great payout with a large lake with Lily pads and asdorted waterfowl. Lake path wraps back through an elongated creek area that narrows through some nice botanical gardens. There is plenty of parking above and below. Has a playground area for the kiddos right next to the public restrooms. There is a smaller outdoor amphitheatre for concerts in the park. Tennis courts. Basketball courts across from the park as well as a skate park by the courts. If you want to plan a large family gathering check out the gazebo area complete with bbw grills. Another local attraction is a frisbee golf that winds around through the many woods outside of immediate park scene. Of you want to just walk through lots of cool wooded hills then theres plenty of foot paths for all. Pet friendly with lots of dogy waste stations that Ive always found plenty of Doo doo baggies unlike some dog parks in the area. Paths around the lake walk is lit by lamposts for a romantic walk or a casual stroll with your pets. Friendly people enjoying a beautifully put together park.

Beautiful park. Dog stations throughout woth bags supplied. Japanese garden towards the back. Paved trail around the lake. Parking across the street with a marked crosswalk to enter park. Playground area for kids. A few homeless under the shelter at restrooms. The door to mens restroom was broken, otherwise I would give it a 5 star.

I love the gardens in the back and the ponds are some of the best a place I love stopping to stretch the legs with the kids..... BUT HINDER towards dark the homeless get bad by the bathrooms. Last time I was there, there was a little league game on one side and a homeless fight on the other...

I didnt walk the trail on this day but I have on several occasions. Its a nice short level walk, very enjoyable. It features an Asian bridge painted an awesome pop of red and ponds with ducks and a small playground for the kids to play off some pent up energy.

Its a relaxing atmosphere. There is a disc golf course just up the Northwest wooded hill. Playgrounds. The smaller one is designed for younger kids, but it often gets flooded during rainy season. I caught a bass in the pond. The Japanese style garden is nice. The park is a huge Pokemon Go hot spot. You may only see one bum, most of the visitors are family people. Feeding friendly ducks, dont use bread, use bird seed.

I love that this beautiful lake attracts so many birds. There are various different areas for everyone to enjoy including a natural grass amphitheatre. The area is beginning to show some serious age although it is kept clear of trash and is trimmed neatly. This is a wonderful place for pace walking and leashed dog exercise. Right next to the park is a playground. A few little paths wind through the trees for a quieter experience. I look forward to getting photos of spring!

Such a lovely place for a stroll. I wasnt here for very long, but it is so pretty and tranquil that I couldnt help but enjoy the atmosphere. Its a small park, but it is well taken care of. Its a great place for picnics and walks. There are no fire pits or anything like that, but there is a gazebo. Theres also a playground for young children, a community swimming pool, a Japanese garden, short nature trails, a skate park, a grassy stage area, and of course a great big pond in the middle of it all that is teeming with ducks and some other waterfowl. I dont recall seeing bathrooms, but I wasnt looking for them either. If I lived in Coos Bay, Id be visiting often.

Homeless galore. A great park if you dont mind random homeless begging for whatever you can spare (or cant). Theyll first ask for a cigarette just to break the ice, then a light, then tell you their plight.. Finally they get what they really want from you: money. Dont mind giving, but didnt go to the park with three small children to be accosted.

Chilly clear winter day and the park was as gorgeous as ever. There are new ducks Ive never seen and a very large (huge) clutch of ducklings instead of individual family units. There did seem to be an adult mallard couple supervising, but I couldnt swear to it. This is a lovely park in the middle of town that is great for walking.

This is a really big and beautiful park. There are two children’s playgrounds. One playground area is meant for children aged 2-5 years old and the other is open to all ages. There’s a small pavilion next to it. There’s a huge pond filled with ducks and has a fountain in the center. There’s a pool area up on the hill and trails to walk along. They hold events here in the Summer. This seems to be a favorite place for dog owners. We noticed many people walking their dogs. Overall, this is a nice place to take your kids in Coos Bay.

Pros: Beautiful Japanese garden. Beautiful duck pond. Nice playground. Cons: I dont like how separated the toddler and big kid playground is, and I feel there needs to be a set of bathrooms near the gardens so its not so far of a walk when your little suddenly has to go. Side note: I think if they added a coin operated duck food dispenser, people could feed the ducks anytime without bringing breads that arent good for them.
