No complaints here. My family and I have been wanting to do the Saco for years having grown up in Maine. This year, a year of firsts, we decided now was the time and Saco River Tubing Center did not disappoint! The staff was super knowledgeable and helped us brainstorm solutions when our original plans went awry. The tubes were very durable and comfortable making the float a lavish experience. All around great time; it’s safe to say we’ve found our new Labor Day weekend tradition! #gowiththeflow

It was our first time and they made it enjoyable. Next time Ill go earlier in the season when the water is higher and quicker and try the 5 mile tubing. If you are taking younger kids I recommend going in August most spots arent too high and not too fast so safer for people who arent strong swimmers. They had nice beaches you can stop and picnic and play at. The staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely remember your sunscreen as my legs are still pretty crispy a week later

My family and I loved this! The staff tells you where to park a drops you off with the tubes. They then pick you up at the end. (They will let you know where that is) The whole experience was very relaxing.

This was our first experiencing River Tubing with my husband, a 4 year old and 7 year old. We took the 1.5 mile trip, it took about 2 hours. We all had so much fun. Bring your own tether. We untethered our 7 year old (they provide life jackets for the whole family) and he really enjoyed the freedom to explore the river on his own (within eye sight). There were nice little beaches to stop and have lunch if you had a flotation container. Now we have River fever and will add this to our list of things to do when we do our annual summer visit to the North Conway area.

This was a fun day trip. The people were nice and it was fun. We did the full day adventure and it took us the full day, so dont go on that one if you dont have at least 7 hours. Bring all the sunscreen and more water than you think you need. Shoes are also important, some areas are SUPER ROCKY. Would for sure do it again, but maybe the shorter one.

Such an easy, fun way to spend the day! Weve tubed here several times, and they do a great job making the process go smoothly. We usually do just the 1 mile float which is short and sweet with many beaches to stop at if youd like to linger on the trip. Some of the nicest porta-potties youll see at the main lot. Fast shuttle out, then you land at the main lot so no waiting for a pickup. Plus they are even dog-friendly. Its a popular, party-scene stretch, but thats part of the fun. Highly recommend.

We would be remiss if we pulled out of Conway without expressing our gratitude to ANDY and NICK.After seeing all of Conway’s highlights including Zebs and a ride on the old time railroad, we needed a moment of solitude on the river. Fortunately we stumbled upon the generosity of the superb staff at Sacos. Here we were - two city slickers taking on this New England town for the first time. ... Our staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and put us at ease as we’ve never kayaked before and lacked knowledge regarding the terrain and local landscape. After a ride on the Conway train ride earlier that day, time on the water served as the perfect caboose to our wild ride in Conway. Thanks guys! We will definitely be back.

This was the staple of my trip to maine. So glad I came across this and booked prior to heading to maine for the holiday weekend. Booked online and paid in advance and made sure to get a cooler tube for my floating adventure. We pulled in and parked and within 30 minutes were aboard a shuttle to take us to the drop spot which was literally a 2 minute ride. All staff were friendly and helpful. We did the 1.5 mile which was plenty of float time for us as there are beaches and rope swings along the way. We packed a lunch which I recommend doing and stopped at one if the beaches and ate. There was no float congestion and everyone seemed to float freely which was really nice. This is one of the less expensive floating experiences I found while researching and I felt that the staff did an amazing job getting everyone in and out in a timely manner.

It was a slow river flow today and very busy, but it was an enjoyable experience. Especially watching the kids reaction. The only thing we wish to make a note is all of the trees especially the ones branching out toward the middle of the river. Wish the company would cut them back to make it easier and more enjoyable. Not to mention my niece almost went under. Thankfully my husband was fast and scooped her up.

My husband and I did the 5 mile tubing it started off fun however out of the 5 miles we probably walked at least 2 due to low water. We would get stuck have to get out and walk until water was deeper. Shoes are a definite you will be walking on a lot of rocks and trees. Always wanted to do this and we did. I wouldn’t do it again for the price unless water was higher. Very disappointed

Love this trip in fact i have suggested it to the private camp i work for during the summer. Which they tried it this year. Have taken this trip for the past 3 or 4 years. This is an outdoor experience yes you would experience some obstacles on the river after all it is a river. But that is why it was fun, relaxing and so much nature. We saw a deer on one of the banks. Many birds were spotted as well. Should wear boat/water shoes as there are rocks as it is a river. The workers were so great answered all our questions. It is a bit rough at the end, take your time. We had to walk some of the river but we took our time, talked to folks we met along the way. Rested when we wanted played games along the way.It does help if you can swim or wear the life jackets.

I have used this company for several years. This was the first year we decided to brave it with our children, unfortunately this would be the last time I go through this company. The trip was great as usual! The young girl that I completed my registration with put us on a different trip than I reserved and I had let her know and showed her my invoice, she still put us on the wrong trip. Instead of giving her a hard time I just took the trip she put us on, not the one I reserved. They are usually busy during check in and it wasn’t that big of a deal. The big deal is, we arrived to the pick up spot and NO ONE was there to pick us up! We waited, and 5 pm passed, and then 5:30pm... still no shuttle. So I called the office... no answer. I called again, still no answer, so I left a voicemail (still waiting for a call back-3 days later). I had no choice at this point and walked back to where my car was, 3 miles or so from the pick up spot. When I got back to my car there was no one around, everything was locked up and the shuttles all parked. I got in my car and went back to the pick up spot where my family was waiting. We loaded up the companies tubes into my car and returned them back to the company...I then sent another email letting them know how our experience was, in hopes I would get an email or phone call back. Still waiting. I completed the survey they sent me the next day, again sharing how the experience was in hopes I would get a response... and I did! An automated one, apologizing because the phones were down the week prior??? I’m so disappointed, until this trip I have always recommended this company to people, book trips every year for 15-20 people in our groups, and always had a great experience with them. But this has been an eye opener and showed they do not care about their customers. I’m sad to say I will not be coming back nor recommending this company. A simple response to my emails or voicemail could have made a huge difference.

The river itself is very fun to go tubing down, however I do not like this business. The land markers the bus driver/guide tells you before you get into the water are not helpful. There are no mile markers along the river so if you have never gone down the Saco before you have no clue how much longer you will be on the river. My family chose the 5 mile option which was supposed to take us 6 hours when in reality took 9 hours before we reached the end. The water at the end only gets deeper and reaches 6 feet which would have been okay if the current hadn’t been so strong. The stairs you go up to leave were occupied by a large group (who were obviously drunk) while my family waited on a small strip of sand. I understand this isn’t the tubing center’s fault, but I thought there would have been an employee to help bring in the tubes. Instead you have to swim about 30 feet (swim not float or else you will be pulled down the river) The end was frustrating when we saw employees laughing and talking to each other instead of helping us bring up 7 tubes and a large cooler (we had 4 kids with us who could not carry their own tubes up the staircase covered in water and dirt). I enjoyed floating down the river but I am not going to this business again. (Edit: After reading the owner’s response I still agree with my review. I understand that they can not control other visitors but they can control the employees. The day I went had strong currents and when we reached the end my sister had gotten off to swim to the stairs to get an employee to help. The employee said himself everyone should swim to the stairs and not float. This may be a natural river but you can control your own workers.)

My daughters went on this as part of a bridal shower adventure in August 2019. They were asked to sign a waiver and were told this was a lazy river sort of thing. It wasn’t. No guide accompanied them and There were real rapids large boulders and fallen trees with sharp branches one of which punctured one of my daughters tubes which sank and my other daughter had to jump in to help her. Both got bumps and bruises and some cuts. They survived but it could have been much worse. They are very adventurous girls but they said this was the worst and scariest experiences of their lives

Very disappointed with this place.. we have visited two times prior to this.. we tried to book online for the up coming weekend. But it said to call.. so I did.. the girl I spoke to told me she had one opening for the all day trip at the time we wanted to go but that the other person could leave a half hour later and the first person could just wait for them after being dropped off. She then said Ill put your name on that spot and then I have to ask my manager how to do the other part and I will call you back.. I waited 2 hours and no phone call.. so I called them only to find out that they had closed.. real nice! I left a voicemail explaining that the girl said she was calling me back and to please call me the next day... NEVER A CALL BACK!! Super UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Luckily we found a different place that had no problem giving us the two spots.. so now they will be getting our buisness every year! They could have at least called me back! What if I had waited? And didnt give up and find another place?!

This river and specially Saco river tubing center doesn’t deserves to be a tourist spot for doing river tubing.its absolutely unsafe and not comfortable.Let me begin by describing my experience as below-1) Staffs doesn’t gives any advice or suggestions on how to do tubing in river. This is very important when you have to handle situations like still water and obstacles like broken trees in river while you are moving. Fortunately we took some broken tree branches with us which helped in some cases.2) There is no indication about how far the destination will be3) almost for 100 m before destination water is still and more then 6ft deep which makes it highly difficult for the newbies to reach the steps.4) For so many places , there is no water movement and it becomes extremely difficult to float . You keep pushing with tree branches but it becomes highly difficult.I went to this spot with a hope of enjoying beautiful nature and having relaxing experience with my pregnant wife and a kid but it was a painful and dangerous experience for us. There was no help offered when calling the staff too. They just mentioned that they cannot do anything if you are in trouble.I will urge govt of New Hampshire to close the tubing event in such an unpredictable river water or else improve the tourist experience with more additional better floating device on tube.

It would of been nice if they answered my question about river conditions truthfully. The woman who waited on us said there would be “some walking” and neglected to mention the river was so low it was basically all walking while carrying the tube for three miles over very rough rocks which hurt badly shoes or no shoes. We were basically rescued by a kind couple from New York who pulled us for the last mile or so as we were too exhausted to go further. Also be forewarned there is a lot of dangerous fallen tree debris in the water. In short , don’t trust the company to be honest with you regarding river conditions- make sure you check the internet ahead of time and make reservations.

I accidentally deleted my review.Anyway I wanted to share that this has become a faimly tradition for us! Its a must do in our family.Every year that we come to New Hampshire we always stop and make reservations for the tubbing. ( you have to reserve for the 6 hr tour ) no reservations needed for the 3 hr tour.It is absolutely beautiful and so much fun.Make sure to pack a lunch, you can rent cooler tubes, and pack some cold ones as well. Its an amazing time . Just a great way to get out of the heat on the hot days.Thier are plenty of places to pull off and take a break and enjoy your lunch or just take a dip. Theirs rope swings along the way which I highly recommend for anyone to try . The scenery along the way is gorgeous. We have been doing this for years and it really is a tradition that we go.Never have we been disappointed, ppl tubbing along the way are great and fun too.Your staff Is incredibly helpful. We are looking forward to next season and many season to cone.Thankyou again for a wonderful time.

On a recent bout of self reflection I decided that spending quality time with my parents should be a high priority. In comes ideas of what to do with two elderly people in the summer heat. A few phone calls later and we packed a cooler and headed to Saco River to rent tubes. It was a great decision. Heres what we learned:1. Bring lots of sunscreen and apply generously because you will probably be toasted.2. If you have a preference on whether or not you want your butt to get wet, request the tube with or without the hole in the middle accordingly. One advantage of hole is that you are cooler and you can pee in the river. One disadvantage of hole is that your butt is more vulnerable to rock scrapes.3. If wine makes you tired, the sun and river combo will make you pass out. Stick to caffeinated drinks and go easy on the alcohol.4. Shoes are a must, preferably those that can get wet and have straps. They do sell water shoes for $12 each there but I suggest you come prepared.5. Waterproof your electronics or leave them in the car. I used 2 ziplock bags inside two plastic bags and had no issues. They do sell cell phone bags there.6. The 3 mile float took less than 3 hours even though they said around 4 hours in the low water level. So dont be intimidated by the longer floats.7. Weekends in July and August sell out fast so book weeks in advance. Weekdays are not as bad but you should still make a reservation a day or two in advance.Youre welcome!
