This was a highlight of our visit to Concord. The Paul Revere gallery was wonderful, but the literary artifacts were amazing. The museum was very careful with the number of people booked in advance and sanitizing. I felt very safe there.

Good time-killer if you are traveling through the Concord area. Took an hour maximum to get through everything. Notable artifacts overshadow the less significant ones. Many areas of the building were under construction and off limits. Would not go out of my way to go here but if I was passing through Concord, it would not be a bad stop.

Not a bad place. Infested with raiders though and a death claw outside so be careful if ya visit. Made up for it little though by finding a sweet set of power armor and a mini gun on the roof, sadly the vertabird is trashed. Probably wouldve steered clear of it though had i known I was gunna meet Preston Garvey.....guy keeps nagging me about another settlement that needs help.....speaking of, here he comes again.

Very nice but small; bit overpriced considering how small the exhibit is. Just a few items from Thoreau and Emerson and some Native American. The limited Paul Revere exhibit made it a little more worthwhile. Very nice of you are a history buff and worth a visit but be prepared that theres not much to the museum.

We visited the museum at the reopening; most of the construction was complete. The artifacts are correctly displayed, well lit, in nice galleries..that is... 3 or 4 very small rooms. There are very few items, though there are a few treasures. There is a custom Revere silver tea set said to be authentic and a trunk of Hancocks that has a great historical story. Also some old clocks. There are far, far more employees than visitors. I would allow no more than an hour, even after reading all descriptions. Its a great place for 8 year old school kids such the group that was on a tour when we were there.

This is a fascinating museum within walking distance of the Louisa May Alcott house. I came across it walking back from Alcotts house to my hotel. There are two floors dedicated to local history, mostly 18th and 19th century.I especially enjoyed the temporary exhibition on fashion. Honestly, I didnt think the topic would interest me as much as it did. I was drawn in by the panel about how clothes were made, which gave me a new appreciation for the dresses on display. I also enjoyed talking to a docent about the history of the dresses, and why they were so well-preserved. For kids and the young at heart, theres a table where you can design your own fan. I had fun doing that. Its well worth spending an hour or so here to expand your knowledge of local history.

Fairly fine experience. I had a time exploring the area and seeing the rich history that people had preserved all these years later. Most of the exhibits had an impact on my travel group, with the sophisticated scenarios the museum represented. Although it was not perfect, it was a very great time, and Id recommend the Concord Museum to any East Coast travellers in the area.

I only give 4 of 5 as the museum is currently being renovated and has the new wing open (in the Rasmussen Ed Center); the $5 tour of a few artifacts was nice, but Carol wouldnt let me get a word in edge-wise. She was knowledgeable, but a bit edgy. Loved to see the lamp from Paul Reveres ride! Also, a very nice-looking teddy bear tea event was happening that day... looked fun (for my daughters, not me!)

The Concord Museum is nicely situated in the heart of Concord/Lexington. I was disappointed there werent more memorabilia or things to see, but they said they had just moved the museum and were still in the process of moving. Hopefully the next time I visit there will be more to see. The guided tour was interesting. Very clean establishment and friendly staff - If they didnt know the answer to a question, they were willing to find out either by asking other staff members or looking up online or researching at the library, .

Very disappointing. Nothing on website prepared us for the poor amount of items to see. Yes they are rehabbing the facility, but it should be clearly stated on website that it is not extensive. Took 3o minutes with a guide to see everything. Do not waste your time going for at least a year. Even then who knows how limited it will be.Not very good. Stay away.

Dont miss this extraordinary experience! The 20min presentation is enthralling. Staffing of Park Rangers and Museum speakers are quite knowledgeable and are prepared with answers to any and all questions! I personally had the opportunity to listen to the resident Ranger speak in depth and with much zeal, about the period clothing and uniforms, detailing the importance of said clothing and how they were influenced by the politics of the times.

The man at the desk did not seem like a people person and was unable to answer my questions about the early settlers of concord. He pointed me toward the first room. Although the first room was about the early settlers, it was very general and I did not find what I was looking for. However, The museum itself was nice. Well organized and interesting. It was family friendly. If you are more interested in the late 1700s and 1800s this museum is for you.

The wealth of historical information on display in Concord, MA, well-known for its role in the first battle of the Revolutionary War as well as its history as a significant Transcendentalist hub in the mid-19th century, is overwhelming. If its your first time visiting Concord, this is a great place to start: it provides a great overview of the history of the town, starting in colonial times and working its way through much of the 19th century and into the 20th, with particular focus on the Revolutionary and Transcendentalist history. You can also see a reconstructed version of Ralph Waldo Emersons study (original furniture!) and various special exhibits that change from time to time. Start here before you see Orchard House (Louisa May Alcott), the Old Manse (Emerson/Hawthorne), Emersons House, the Wayside, or the Bridge.
